31. Get rid of this horrendous exhibit of dead bodies
(03.22.09)
Israel's going the the drain hole.
32. don't panic
observer   (03.22.09)
no Gazan body or body part is involved
33. only in Germany could such disrespect for the dead
estee ,   ra'anana, Israel   (03.23.09)
be labeled 'Art'. That's what I thought when I watched in horror the Gunther von Hagens' exhibit featured on CNN several years ago from it's initial show in Germany. I hate to think where these bodies came from. Disgusted then and now that it's coming to Israel even more so! Excuse me while I go throw up.
34. Gevalt ; Dem Bones Dem Bones
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (03.22.09)
dem dry bones ,now hear the word of the Lord.
35. This Reminds Me Of The Cannibal Who
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (03.22.09)
was invited to a Dinner Party and arrived late...he was given the cold shoulder.
36. This Reminds Me Of The Waiter Who
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (03.22.09)
walked around the Restaurant asking customers: 'is everything okay?" .When he approached the table where Mr. and Mrs. Cohen sat the waiter asked; "is ANYTHING okay?"
37. This Show Is A DEAD Loss
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (03.22.09)
No BODY in their right mind would attend.
38. Dead Men Tell No Tales
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (03.22.09)
Of course this show /exhibition is in extremely poor taste. One need not be a "Haredi" to find this most objectionable.
39. A Bone Of Contention
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (03.22.09)
The organisers of this show certainly want their pound of flesh. This show lacks body and substance. The show is manned by a skeleton staff who are basically skin and bones. They seem to have touched a raw nerve. As they say" "it's not the cough that carries you off,it's the coffin they carry you off in."I hereby declare this gruesome subject Dead and Buried.
40. I Like The Photo Of Three Lepers
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (03.22.09)
playing cards...one of them threw his hand in. (it's the way I tell 'em).
41. Is it just me...
David Olesker ,   Jerusalem Israel   (03.23.09)
Or do other people also get creeped out by the idea of a German doctor carrying out macabre procedures on dead bodies and turning them into objets d'art?
42. Sick
Yaakov ,   Golus   (03.23.09)
This is truly disgusting, pure evil. Anyone, Jewish or otherwise, must speak out against this puke. Hey Self-hating Jews, tell me this: If you are about to step out without looking in front of a speeding bus and a Chareidi man tells you, "Watch out, there's a bus there!" - would you keep going and get killed rather than listen to a Chareidi??? Morons!
43. If you don't approve, Don't go! Enough
Roy   (03.23.09)
with this police state!
44. #41 No, it's not just you
Marcella   (03.23.09)
It's in the back of the mind of a lot of Jews. Perhaps we should make a stronger point of it - if only to remind those who are getting too comfortable - that evil does not go away, that it's always lurking behind art, academia, and political causes, eager to strike against Jews again. We should all rally together to protect and defend Israel instead of attacking it from the sides in the name of political correctness or for the sake of fitting in with the gentile crowd.
45. Rabbi Metzger is not "Haredi"
yonatan ,   brooklyn new york   (03.23.09)
"Haredim launch battle against human body exhibit " Rabbi Metzger is not Haredi, by using the words Haredi, Ultra Orthodox etc I suspect ynet are trying to paint a picture that only some extreme factions of Orthodox Judaism oppse such a thing which is not the case.
46. Roll dem bones
Ben ,   Monroe USA   (03.23.09)
Hey, is anyone holding a gun to your head forcing you to see it? No; don't go.
47. bad
Ariel ,   US   (03.23.09)
One does not have to be an Orthodox Jew to shudder. This is just a simple human reaction. There must be some ethical borders that are not to be crossed and this exhibition, with its casual, humorous, cynical way of using human remnants has crossed every line. In old times, medical students entering the morgue to perform dissections of human cadavers, passed the inscription above the door: Behold, here the dead teach the living. What are we teaching our children by showing them the flayed human bodies playing cards? What are we teaching ourselves?
48. #41 David - excellent
John ,   Washington State   (03.23.09)
You nailed it, David. Concise, disturbing - and rightfully so. As one who has lived in Germany, who speaks the language, and who admires a great deal about the culture, I'm MOST concerned by the wholesale rejection of God by the young people there. Plus ca change...
49. #1
(03.23.09)
i also live in san diego. i did not go to this exhibit. i found out that these were real people. some were from prison and some were poor people who did this for money to take care of their families. i am sure as you put it was amazing, however
50. Dignity
sechel ,   jerusalem   (03.23.09)
This is not only a religious issue but a universal respect for the human being in death as well as in life.
51. Respect
daat y ,   jerusalem   (03.23.09)
This is NOT a Chareidi issue. This is a respect for human beings issue.
52. Human Issue
human being ,   israel   (03.23.09)
Why does YNET make this a Chareidi issue. The Chief Rabbi of Haifa came out against it.He is definitely not Chareidi. This is an issue for all HUMAN BEINGS to respect the human body dead or alive.
53. #41 I agree - Lawrence - are you sick - not funny!!
Sheila ,   Jerusalem,Israel   (03.23.09)
54. #41 - David Olesker - Shalom from Shalom
Shalom   (03.23.09)
No David, it's not just you - any "normal" human being - not just one wearing a hat and jacket - would be incensed by the mere thought of this exhibit. I hope the High Court shows a bit of sense for once. An Old Friend!
55. I will be going
Peter ,   Israel   (03.23.09)
And not because these Rabbis said do not go. I am going because this is very interesting. A good opportunity. I really do not care what any Rabbi or Haredi says, they lost their path eons ago.
56. ok back off
ghostq   (03.23.09)
will you, religious bastards, don't watch the show ok, but let others see.
57. the haredim are against [fill in the blank]
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (03.23.09)
who cares?
58. As a humanist and an art lover I say let the bodies stay!
Yaakov Sullivan ,   NYC   (03.23.09)
I love this art. This is amazing. Some illitarate people don't appriciate this great opportunity to see and visit this great museum. As a famous award winning actor all I can say is shame on all the primitive art haters. I am going to take my two boys to see this wander and I urge you to do the same.
59. The objection are based on Bodyworks shaddy foundation
JO   (03.23.09)
Their main centre is in China and has been a source of controversy for years. Much mystery and unknown. The origins of those bodies being one big question, and the how of obtaining them.
60. I agree with them (first time EVER) - it's very sick!!
Talula ,   Israel   (03.23.09)
I won't be going - vomit!
