31. #18 - the red neck from Marietta
(04.07.09)
Obama is much better than McCain and the stupid Sarah Palin for America. So shut up .
32. Nice try Obama. But try speaking with the Palestinians...
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem Israel   (04.07.09)
and not at them and see how far reason gets you. Good luck
33. Israel see the Palis' view
Mongo ,   Paris   (04.07.09)
that´s why they built the anti-terror security fence.
34. President Obama
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (04.07.09)
Been there, done that, over and over and over again. The Arabs have never compromised on any issue, nor have they ever fulfilled a single obligation. Appeasing terrorists, means more terrorism. You are too stupid to understand those basic facts, so stay away.
35. Misleading headline...
Joshua ,   Jersey City, USA   (04.07.09)
...the headline makes it looks like Obama was only addressing Jews. As was clear from the event, he spent much time admonishing his Muslim hosts that it was unacceptable to say "Israel is always wrong" and asked them to adopt an ISRAELI perspective. His words to the Jewish participants were just an add on. In any event, it is good to see things from different perspectives.
36. Now you know why O didn't want to talk about Rashid Khalidi
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.07.09)
Lots of people raised concern about some of Obama's Palestinian associations back in Chicago - Khalidi and Abulima, in particular. "No big deal,", said his supporters. "Obama fully supports Israel," said his Jewish supporters. Now we know better. He's fully imbibed the Palestinian narrative.
37. #23 and Baathist thugocracy
London eye ,   London   (04.07.09)
Lunacy knows no bounds. Would you care to mention what percentage of the Palestinian population are members of the Baath party? or are you trying to say that the Baath party offers the only solution? It's okay for you to express your utter hatred and contempt for the sane policies of Mr Obama - but paranoia seems to have taken you over completely. "Cancel Palestine and create peace"???? Never read anything quite to ridiculous - almost along the lines of Mr Lieberman's offer to Syria of "peace for peace". Living in a moronic dreamworld which will drag the region to disaster. Time that some people grew up a little.
38. SEE THE ISRAELI PERSPECTIVE !!!.
Orao Stranka. ,   Tsarigrad u Srbia.   (04.07.09)
Obama: See the Palestinian perspective THE PALESTINIANS AND ISRAELS NEIBOURS HAVE NEVER SEEN THE ISRAELI PERSPECTIVE. TO LIVE IN ISRAEL IN PEACE AND SECURITY. US president says regional peace possible, but stresses 'now what we need is political will and courage on the part of leadership'; THE TERMS OBAMA WILL HAVE REALISED CAN BE REALISED ANY TIME THE PALESTINIAN AND ARABIC LEADERSHIP WANT TO. THEY DO NOT NEED ISRAELS OR USs CONSENT FOR THIS. Orao.
39. ONCE AND FOR ALL: IGNORE OBAMA & USA
(04.07.09)
40. "See the perspective of the 'Palestinians" HATRED & HATRED.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (04.07.09)
41. #31
Jane   (04.07.09)
I think #18 has a far better grasp of the implications of what Obama is doing/saying. Perhaps it is you who should shut up.
42. #15, brad the mythology
David ,   Boston, USA   (04.07.09)
I'd love to know what fantasy books you are reading, since they arent based on reality or history. You cant be serious.
43. #1 Just go live in Israel 12 months/year
Jake ,   NYC, US   (04.07.09)
True, Israel won all the wars. The question is why do you keep crying like babies because of some home made missiles and beg us for billions of dollars every year to protect your country? - Do you really want the US to stay out of your business? because trust me Americans would love to do that.
44. Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2 &--
Ely greenhut ,   Tzfat Israel   (04.07.09)
They all failed to reach a peace (pieces) accord. Now Obama will not succeed either as non of these presidents understand Terrorist anti Jewish mentality. The Arabs will not rest until Israel is destroyed. By the way, the arabs will go out of their way to seek & support any terrorist group that causes death to Israelis to do their dirty work. Obama concentrate in being the leader of the USA. You have enough problems to solve there. Israel has been taking care of itself better than the US does for itself.
45. Let me sell you liberals the Brooklyn Bridge
Michael   (04.07.09)
To #1 and #2: You hit the nail on the head. Buckwheat is a left wing socialist: the palestinians don't want peace..they're terrorists. Someone please tell Barak Hussein Obama this, he apparently can't see it.
46. "...my Jewish friends"So some of his best friends are Jews?
Alan ,   SA   (04.07.09)
47. Obama thinks we are as naive as he is. We are more realists.
JO   (04.07.09)
I think we do see and hear the Palestinians viewpoint very clearly. It is well known, we do speak Arabic too and it helps.. We hear what is said and what they view of us, They have a history that is all their own and not complete. A lost history that they prefer is lost and a lots of myth that they have instilled into their narriative. I mean go back pre 1850 and see. We are realistic than Obama and we would be fair and far more just, I cant say the same of the Palestiniians who scream at every mantra.
48. Is Lieberman literate ?
Michael ,   Haifa   (04.07.09)
I hope that Lieberman can read the writing on the wall, even if it is not in Russian
49. #37
Jane   (04.07.09)
Makes as much sense as, hm, let me think, oh - radical eurotrash and their islamofacist friends saying that Israel has no right to exist. Bet you have no problems with that in Londonistan, do you?
50. Speech well delivered
withheld ,   Copenhagen, Denmark   (04.07.09)
Before you all say: "It is the other way around" or "look at your own history", you must remember at whom this speech was aimed. I think it is important that he comes off balanced, in order for the intended people to receive his message. How can you inspire hope in others and create unity towards peace if nobody listens? It is easier for his listeners to hear all of his speech, instead of stopping at the first sign of bias, when he comes off as balanced, sympathetic and empathic.
51. I have said the following over and over..
Lior ,   Israel   (04.07.09)
Obama or any other past president would never dare speak of the Armenian massacre, nor would Obama or they ask why the Turks have so horribly mistreated, killed and robbed the Kurds of statehood. (The only president who spoke of Kurd statehood was the 26th President Woodrow Wilson.) Palestinian Betrayal Of The Kurds: http://home.cogeco.ca/~kurdistan/10-8-04-opinion-palestinian-betrayal-of-kurds.html If the Kurds were sitting next to Israel believe you me they would have a state. This is all about placating the Arab world at any and all cost to Israel/Jews. Further proof: Obama and Bush never brought up the trip Abbas made to Beirut to congratulate the newly released child killer Samir Kuntar. Anyone wonder why Obama and those before him failed to even bring up the Abbas Fatah or Hamas charter which calls for the implicit destruction of Israel; every Jewish man woman and child? Bush made an election promise he would straight away move the American embassy to Jerusalem and never made good on it. Don't think Obama will either. ( Israel is the only country on earth to whom the U.S has relations without a U.S embassy in their capital.) And if Bush said a big NO to selling us our much needed long range aircraft it will most certainly never happen with Obama. The fact that President Obama and all those before him push the Palestinian statehood issue knowing the Palestinians have been given chance after chance after chance by Israel and gave back noting is a Jewish Issue. Nothing more nothing less. The fact that Abbas santioned posters throughout the entire west bank which shows all of Israel Palestine is a known fact by world leaders who don't give a damn. Israel is the parah. Israel is the misguided vehicle to be used and abused by every head of state just to advance themselves with the Arab/Islamic world. We the victims have been made into the victimizers quite conveniently for every head of state to point their fingers at admonishing us to be more and to do more knowing it is not us which need to change but those who wish to kill us all. PERIOD.
52. Obama:"See the palestinians view"
Arie ,   BaGolan   (04.07.09)
We do...everytime we watch a qassam or grad come flying over the border from hamasstan to Sderot
53. Gee, maybe Jews should try to stand in Hitler's shoes...
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego   (04.07.09)
...to see the Nazis' "perspective". Maybe we should stand in the Tsar's shoes to see the perspective of the pogromists. Maybe we should stand in the Ku Klux Klan's shoes, to better understand the cross-burning perspective. What a complete PUTZ!! Maybe women should stand in the shoes of rapists to understand their perspective. Maybe every American should stand in Bin Laden's shoes, so we gain better 9-11 perspective. Understanding does NOT require objectivity and sympathy with EVERY kind of opposing viewpoint. The "Palestinians" were offered and rejected the "2-state solution" in 1947, and fought it until 1993 and Oslo, and most of them STILL reject Israel and a 2-state solution. What they want is to recover all their lost fortunes at Israel's expense, as if they themselves were blameless. Obama will find no traction in America for his "perspective". And not in Congress, especially, where he will find a political firestorm waiting.
54. To: No. 50
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (04.07.09)
Why would you think that it is important to be "balanced." Would you agree that the victor of six wars, and the survivors of sixty years of terror should have greater say in what happens? I do. Please keep in mind that Palestinians TWICE turned down a two-state solution. You should also remember that the one thing that all Palestinian organizations have in common is that their charters call for the eradication of the State of Israel and the extermination of the Jews. While we're on the subject -- exactly which of the fifteen or twenty competing Palestinian factions should Israel "negotiate" with? They spend almost as much time killing one another as they do killing Jews? Israel has made endless concessions, and gotten nothing but empty promises in return. Of course, there are the acts of terror, the missiles raining down in Sderot and Ashkelon and you think there's room for "balance" and "objectivity?" How balanced and objective were the Danes about Germany following the end of the war? I'll tell you: not very. And your very own Dag Hammarskjold was instrumental in keeping Germany out of the United Nations for a very long time. The Danes only had to put up with Germany for five years. The Jews have had to put up with the Palestinians for sixty years of statehead, and quite a lot of violence during the Mandate. There is no room for balance; there is no room for objectivity. Sorry.
55. JORDAN IS PALESTINE! OVER 75% OF THE POPULATION ARE.........
TRANSFER ARABS OUT ,   OF ISRAEL!   (04.07.09)
PALESTINIAN! ONLY THE KING IS "JORDANIAN" IN JORDAN! THE QUEEN IS PALESTINIAN AND THE MAJORITY OF THE POPULATION!
56. To all Jews who voted for Obama Hussein: YOU ARE IDIOTS!
IDIOTS!   (04.07.09)
57. #37 - London eye, Have you actually bothered...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (04.07.09)
Have you actually bothered to look at the similarities in both political theory and governmental policies between Fatah, the Syrian Assad regime and the former Iraqi Hussein regime? All three heavily censor journalists working in the regions they control, all three engage in state-sanctioned torture and murder of religious and sexual minorities and all three represent a corrupt secular elite heavily repressing a largely religious fundamentalist constituency. In addition to this, the principles underlying the Baathist Party are also the same principles underlying Fatah- Secular Pan-Arabism. While Fatah is not Baathist per se, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck... Also, when looking at the reality of internal Palestinian politics and the "either Hamas or Fatah" situation Palestinians are found in, Obama's plans are anything but sane- they are merely a continuation of Bush's failed policies in the Middle East and serve only to undermine advancement of human rights in the region. BTW, what is so ridiculous about the phrase, "Peace for Peace"? Looking at Israeli-Syrian relations and the events that led to Israel's reconquest of and annexation of the Golan, Lieberman's politics and policies represent a breath of fresh air from the unquestioning obedience for the delusional demands foisted upon the region from outsiders- outsiders such as you whose perspective is skewed by media with progressive interests and little to no reliance upon historical fact. Speaking of which, looking at the UK's history here and the fact that the current problems are largely the result of mismanagement of the British Mandate by both Britain and the UN, I fail to see why their opinions hold any weight. It's like Neville Chamberlain demanding input on the USSR's restructuring of the ethnic makeup of Eastern Europe post WWII. Please do the world the favor of keeping the ill-informed opinions of both your nation and yourself to yourselves- your track record and current rhetoric speak volumes...
58. This speech is a wake up call to American Jews.
Al   (04.07.09)
Get the hell out..The pagans and the riff raff have taken over. You elected this scum bucket and he is about to throw all Jews under the bus. If you have a couple bucks so much the better. If you dont well your up sh*ts creek. You are on borrowed time.
59. Don't confuse me with the Jew hater.
Brad ,   USA   (04.07.09)
This is Brad #5, and I am not the lemming with the same name, at #15. Hey, #15, why don't you call on Obama to cut off funds to the arab terrorist countries that surround Israel? They are not Israels friends, our friends, or your friends.
60. Never trust a man named after horse
Rita ,   Chicago   (04.07.09)
Even if Obama was named after Muhamadd's horse (Barack)
