1. Oh Get OVER it
Nour ,   Palestine   (04.21.09)
Switzerland is a neutral country. What gives Jews the right to bitch and whine about the meet with the Iranian leader? The two elected leaders are free to do as they wish. As if Israel has some kind of moral authority of who shall meet with whom? Its own forces killed over 500 women and children 4 months ago!!!
2. evil?
ale ,   italia   (04.21.09)
evil, demons...witch, wizards, hell.. which journalist write like middle age man. we must built future , we are looking for peace(in theory..)....and so journalist use these words... is israel a teocracy or not? some one have fear about evil in 2009? which special kind of journalists are there! congratulation for your support in peace evolution... congratulation for liebermann and his ideas too.
3. get a grip
Mari   (04.21.09)
this article is beyond anything in bad taste I have read on Ynet: how dare you: If any country in the world would write something so derrogattory Israel you would scream to high heaven. YOU can't take it- but you are asking us to read this? You dish it out- but you cannot take it yourself? Practical joke- I bet- you just made a whole lot of new enemies dear so-and-so. If you think this is the least bit funny- think again. You guys did not even have the guts to attend the conference- now you have NO SAY in it. You kept silence- now you whine- Sorry- this is a coward's action.
4. To: Nour at No. 1
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (04.21.09)
Mothers and fathers in Gaza -- and the West Bank -- SELL their children to be used as suicide bombers. That kind of makes them lose their right to complain when their children die in a legitimate military action intended to stop eight years of missile attacks on civilian populations. (It worked, too -- have you bothjered to notice?) When Gazans were given AMPLE warning that an area was going to come under bombardment, why did the mothers allow their children to play on rooftops and out on the streets? What kind of mothers allow their five year old children to take their class photograph dressed as a suicide bomber and toting a toy RPG launcher? Ever hear what Mrs. Rantizzi has to say about Palestinian children? She calls them "cannon fodder to be sacrificed to the destruction of the State of Israel." Get over it, Nour. Israel cares more about Palestinian children than Palestinians do. The operation in Gaza was a very careful one. It didn't have to be. Israel could easily have conducted a Dresden-type operation. There are those of us who think Israel should have done exactly that.
5. Whine?
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (04.21.09)
Palestinians have been whining and complaining and wringing their hands for sixty-plus years. All of your misfortune, however, has been of your own making. You sow the wind -- you reap the whirlwind. Six million Jews died during World War II -- helpless victims (unlike the Palestinians, who have continually victimized themselves). 6,000,000. Count the zeroes. We choose to remember this and point out facts to the Swiss that the Swiss seem to have forgotten. Or conveniently overlooked. If you have a problem with that, tough. Get OVER it.
6. Neutrality is no excuse for this
Doris ,   Swiss living in Cana   (04.21.09)
I wholeheartedly agree with the writer of this letter to the Swiss president. As a Swiss living in Canada I am deeply ashamed and dismayed by what took place in Geneva. This is a sad day for Switzerland. I can only hope that the Swiss leader and government will apologize to the Jewish people and Israel and change their policies and stand towards Ahmadinejad and his likes.
7. The antisemites won't get it. Look at #1,2 and 3
Elly ,   Vienna, Austria   (04.21.09)
The Swiss antisemites won't get it. Nor the antisemitic posters here # 1,2 and 3. The President shook the hand of a Holocaust Denier who clearly wants to destroy the Jewish people.
8. Neutrality as pretext for ignoring Nazi atrocities.
cas reader   (04.21.09)
What is written in this letter about Switzerland is true. However, it must be stressed that it is mosly the Swiss Germans who have been very xenophobic. I would equate Swiss Germans in the same leaque as the Germans and Austrians, all who were at the forefront in implementing anti-semitic activities during WW2.
9. Kuddos to Hanoch Daum!!!
Bernie ,   Brooklyn, USA   (04.21.09)
Kudos to Hanoch Daum for his masterful satire piece. It is obvious that primitives such as many of the initial responders (Ginger, MaNour, Mary) are unable to grasp the subtle inflections. But, again, what to expect? Bernie :)
10. #1, 2, and 3 Just don't quite get it yet do they....
Aaron ,   SF, USA   (04.21.09)
11. madnes?
Ian ,   Peru   (04.21.09)
Just atonish. How can "educated" people talk like that or even think that? I wish someone to change the way of thinking and acting of this crazy world that denies the history and don't want to rectified their atrocities
12. GREAT CYNICISM
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (04.21.09)
Besides the regular anti-Semitic TB's that always pop up, hate is something that needs a constant feeding. And we have been the focus of that for millennia, by these losers with a whole in their soul. This article is right on, due to its very cynical tone and every historic fact is true. The Swiss played and still play a dirty part when it comes to the Jews and always hide behind their baloney neutrality. It is refreshing to see a Ynet writer use a frank and direct approach not mincing any words nor intentions. The Swiss being as callous as they are, besides a good minority of people there, will without a doubt not change their ways.
13. And the Swiss replied...

14. Dear Nour from Palestine
Michael ,   Jerusalem   (04.21.09)
dont forget you live in 1431 and you are talking with people that will soon enter in 5770 ... more than 4000 years history are between us. you see the dead palestinians but forget the dead israelis... open your eyes, palestine was, israel is and will be, ishmael got presents, isaac got the Land ... I lived for about 25 years in Geneva and can tell you my dear thar switzerland is a real son of a ##### a place like france or belgium thats suits perfectly for people like mandin- jajad and his brothers
15. #1 the issue doesnt concern palestinians yet u make comments
look in the mirror   (04.21.09)
16. To: No. 13
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (04.22.09)
So right. Exactly the way Jews yawn when the Palestinians start bleating about a two-state solution. Got it?
17. Ahmadinejad will visit Brazil within 2 weeks...
Flavio ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (04.22.09)
...please write right now to nearest the Brazilian embassy, consulate or media outlet and show your protest and indignation!! Brazilian officials did not leave the Geneva meeting hall like many other delegations did, and therefore implicitly subscribed to Ahmadinejad's calls for genocide. Show the naïve Brazilian government that it must not welcome Ahmadinejad!!!
18. Switzerland
librtyship ,   Sacramento USA   (04.22.09)
Switzerland is indeed a beautiful place we have enjoyed visiting, however learning about what they did in World War Two and their entertaining the murderous leader of Iran, I will indeed specifically avoid Switzerland and all their products in the future! No more Swiss watches!
19. #14
Igor ,   Munich, Germany   (04.22.09)
and you moved to Israel from Switzerland? How about the standard of living? Come on, no one can deny Zurich is one of the cleanest places in the world with a high standard of living. I visit Switzerland (Bern, Zurich, Luzern) regularly and I like it more than Germany. Well neutrality is controversial anyway. A neutral country means it is not a member of any military alliance such as NATO, nothing else to me.
20. Neutrality does not equal morality
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (04.22.09)
21. Swiss money laundering
Susan ,   Kfar Sab   (04.22.09)
Hanoch Daum forgot to mention how the Swiss banks laundered the money the Nazis stole from their victims. And how about the bank accounts they tried not to give the heirs of the victims for 50 years? And what about the trains on their way to the camps full of Jews that the Swiss allowed to pass through their country. No, neutrality does not equal morality. It is a cover up for the most immoral behavior. A collegue of mine who is from Switzerland is appauled by her former county's behavior.
22. Between good and evil, Switzerland is neutral…
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (04.22.09)
If we needed any proof that anti-Semitism is alive and well, it was provided by the cynical farce of the Durban conference sponsored by the UN. The conference gave a platform to the Holocaust denying Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. To their credit, a number of countries including Poland and Germany boycotted the conference, and more delegates walked out on Ahmadinejad's speech. But many more delegates stayed and applauded his racist incitement. And a day after the speech, the United Nations is trying to whitewash the proceedings, suppressing legitimate protest and pretending everything is fine. The Swiss president met with the nice Ahmadinejad and observed that Switzerland is neutral. Between good and evil, Switzerland is neutral. That was their stand in World War II as well. Nowadays modern anti-Semitism is blooming again as explained at : http://xrl.us/bepu6q
23. to #1 Israel is expressing
gsea   (04.22.09)
her anger over the fact that so call nutral stat like switzerland give a stand to one side who participate in a conflict, that means it's no longer nutral, she lets only one side voice to be heard. ahmadinajad call openly for the destruction of Israel imagin if switzarland whould have given a voice only to the Israely side you won't be angry?
24. I think Iran paid switzarland
ghostq   (04.22.09)
handsomely to make a speach. switz is a money whore, very expensive one indeed.
25. Ahmadinejad's speech
Jerrold Cohen ,   Seal Beach, USA   (04.22.09)
Either Ahmadinejad delivered a horrible speech defaming a wonderful country, or he had some points, or he was right on the nose. Me, I found nothing wrong with his speech, little that I disagreed with. One thing about Ahmadinejad and the Hamas leaders, they tell it like it is, and Israel is exactly what they say it is. Bless you guys, you have the courage to be honest against a flood of world opinion, and don't ever give it up. Israel has gotten so used to lying that you can't tell fact from fiction if you listen to Israeli politicians. At least that's what I have figured out in eight years of reading the Israeli and Palestinian online media daily. It was a shock to realize that some of those Israeli soldiers and settlers are nothing short of degenerate savages, but once I got past that point I kept reading just to make sure I wasn't just having a bad dream. Not a bad dream. Just reality, as spouted with honesty daily by Hamas and Ahmadinejad. Let's make that guy Ahmadinejad the successor to Ban Ki Moon.
26. history
michel ,   france   (04.22.09)
History is repeating again in the Alps. The same who arranged in the past with the nazis are doing the same nowadays with those who take their antisemitic heritage. Nothing new under the sun!
27. YAWN is right
Lisa   (04.22.09)
first we had the AXIS of evil, now we have the EVIL of neutraility- Oy que veh! Conspiracy? Paranoia!!!!!! I guess the Swiss are finding out who their real friends are. Not knowing what was talked about ...Israel, and most of all TB have no right, no reason to talk like that.... Israeli politicians shaked hands too with Arafat, Abbas.... must have been bosom buddies? friends???? Double talk! I suppose from now on every country has to ask permission from Israel every time it does something? Just in case your feelings are hurt? You don't agree? Etc: Are Swiss allowed to have diplomatic ties with Iran on behalf the sainted US, your godmother and protector, who is incapable of doing it ? Are you, here on TB noticing that the number of friends is rapidly dwindling? England, France, Turkey? Now Switzerland?I wonder why? You are going to be very lonely in a few months at the rate you are going.... we don't tell you how to run your country- get the idea? And as for walking out or not attending: the cowards stayed away from the conference, because they did not want confrontation, walking out never solved anything either- just like Israel is walking out by recalling the Embassador.. Israel is only 60 years old- a baby- I hope it grows up soon. Switzerland has fought many wars over hundreds of years, has survived all of the regimes in Europe- if this is what NEUTRALITY does- be it........ learn from it.
28. to #27 iran calles for
gsea   (04.22.09)
the destruction of Israel and denies holocaust, and in Iran there is a totlitarian regim, sound familiar, unfotunatelly your country wasn't nutral during the WW2 she refused jews from entering her teritory, and the jewish lost bank accounts that she confiscated. not nutral at all.
29. for #24
Marek ,   Czech Rep.   (04.22.09)
For current swiss government is iranian gas more important than honour.
30. NR 27 LISA
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (04.22.09)
Maybet try to write in such a way, so you do not show your hatred so much. The 60 year old baby, you so lovingly write, is actually more then 3000 years old. It is very funny how you write, " we don't tell you how to run your country", yeah right, now that is really so far from the truth, that even you can't be serious. All I can say is that every day I feel more gratefull to live in my own country and not be at the mercy of countries and people who worship evil.
