Jerusalem’s local politics must submit to Israel’s basic laws This Ultra Orthodox organized demonstration of course as in the past soon developed from a semi peaceful appear into an aggressive minority group operation. The reported 30,000 to 35,000 participants last not list represent a very small part of what is politically called united, greater Jerusalem with somewhere between 750,000 to 800,000 inhabitants divided into generally 3 major world religions with more than considerable, relatively large secular groups in its religion.- Jerusalem is a world center of interest, religion and tourism open to the world where such Ultra Orthodox Jewish not too relevant group should keep within its own local quarters and still are bound to live by the States Laws like all other citizens. The elected Jerusalem Mayor apparently wishes to please everyone and consequently gave in atleast temporarily to this Ultra Orthodox’s groups demand to retain the closure of the large underground parking lot for the Old City, which has proven itself as insufficient by the present riots.- Israel’s police force is commission to enforce / retain Israel’s State Laws and to maintained law and order and to avoid to become a political tool of any specific group.- The apparently sanctioning Rabbi’s to these public demonstration by other Rabbi’s is not to be accepted as here basic State Laws abroad into the discussion of whose laws are superceding! This discussion is to be held and decided by Israel’s parliament, Knesset, as public elected citizen’s representatives and additionally the multi religious importance for also other world religions have / are to be observes.- Here the police as shown on the few TV reports reacted with its minor ability to protect law and order for all instead of having made it clear before hand of any surpassing of this thin line would be met by its full force, which unfortunately apparently did not take place. Under the “…disguise…” a protest demonstration of up to 1,000 peacefully behaving participant was license by police.
