1. retribution for neerly burn to death setllers
ghostq   (07.20.09)
a few weeks ago. it's going to go back and forth, so stop the whine, cause trying to burn settlers while they were sleeping is no better.
2. Asour
Georges ,   London   (07.20.09)
The Mitnachalim are usually people who love the Land of G.od. To burn the land is not only a lack of responsability, an environemental catastrophy but a sin against God. How come you burn the Land of G.od? Aren t you supposed to preserve it? Thank G.od all the Mitmachalim are not as stupid as these guys!
3. YNet
mali ,   Jlem   (07.20.09)
It's hard to decide...guess it's a draw...as to which Israeli website hates its own people more...Ynet, JPost or Haaretz...you're running neck in neck...if it's something bad about your own people, your quick to believe it. We've enjoyed your retractions from time to time. With friends like you, who needs enemies?
4. More and more people in the world are going to say/think:
Chanalau, Tova ,   London, UK   (07.20.09)
H------ was right.
5. illegal-
Miri   (07.20.09)
illegal outposts-settlers- riots-burning- what lawless people- no wonder the world is slowly moving over to the Palestinians side-. There is so many lawless and undisciplined people in Israel it seems, the papers are full of news about riots, demonstrations- time to clean up and get the house in order- starting at home!
6. i have always said , and will say it again
DEE ,   Haifa   (07.20.09)
these thugs ( the settlers ) are the biggest loss to israel , israel is waisting lots of money and man power to protect these thugs , they dont deserve the protection , they are only pushing the state of israel and its people backwards instead of forwards , they all deserve to be put in jail and throw away the keys until they rot in there , or close the borders ,and all those who want to come back to israel are welcome , and the ones who dont , will be dealt with by the palestinians , its there problem .. WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH WITH THE KAHANAS AND LIBERMANS ....
7. Dear Palestinians
steve from raleigh   (07.20.09)
If you show no mercy you will be shown none.
8. No arrests and only interviews with the accusers.
rebecca ,   modiin   (07.20.09)
Proof or reasonable suspision would be nice Yent. This article is simply the writers imagination running wild.
9. #3 You raise a very interesting question...
Nour ,   Palestine   (07.20.09)
Is the role of contemporary media to "serve its people" or "serve the state", something along these lines, or to report hard raw facts as and when they occur? Your implied answer is obvious but I must remind you we live in the 21st century. This is not Franco's Spain or Mussolini's little police state, but cyberspace where thank Heavens it became impossible to hide a fact. One could also pose another question: If it were Palestinians infiltrating and running amok in Ariel, burning to the ground everything they encounter - what exactly would be the reaction not only in the press but also the Israeli street? Snap out of it dear, the settlers' actions and track record speak louder than words could ever express. They are a bunch of savages destroying another people, citing their own venomous ideology.
10. to #3....only one who made sense
Avi ,   Mechelen, Belgium   (07.20.09)
so true...
11. Put the blame on Barak who signed the order
chava ,   yerushalayim   (07.20.09)
According to talkback #1, the burning was partly a payback for earlier actions of the arabs. But according to the article, the burning was in reaction to the Israeli government destroying houses. So, since the order was probably signed by Barak, why not burn Barak's house? Or, at least, have lots of people demonstrating near his house or office.
12. Outposts Demolished
Bruria ,   Haifa   (07.20.09)
After years of being attacked and murdered Israelis are fighting back--now we are evil. I don't hear such a big outcry when Jews are attacked, killed, their homes destroyed or burned. Fact is, the arabs get away with a lot more because our foolish government is trying so hard to be "politically correct" All that will get us is dead.
13. torching fields
Ian ,   Sydney, Australia   (07.20.09)
When and how...did we Jews learn to be this cruel...?
14. I hope you are wrong Chan Tova
Chocko ,   NY, USA   (07.20.09)
but there are a lot of people who think they have copied their text book word for word
15. If true those responsible should be caught and pay up.
JO   (07.20.09)
Their is responsible and dignified bahaviour and there is the reverse, not matter who it is coming from. Settlers do not have the right to disrepect Arabs or damage their livilhood, and vis versa. Where are those that - both Arabs and Jews -can live together in peace and respect of the other. This is hateful behaviour of both Jews and Arabs and not right. Those that act this way shouldbe lawfully caught and brought to court and pay compensation of this criminally premediated act. Both Jews and Arabs.
16. Fields?!
Hello! ,   Israel   (07.20.09)
Those weren't just "fields" - the damaged property were several orchards of olive trees - from 1,500 - 2,000 in total! Anyone to do this is an obvious moron and groups that are collectively this destructive, and pointlessly so!, are worthy of prison. That's all.
17. settlers torch palastinian fields
kevin john lee ,   Glasgow/uk   (07.20.09)
Shouldnt this article read,Allegedly settlers set fire etc,as there is no proof, why must guilt be presumed. KJL.
18. best treatment for ignouramous
"ignour" nour   (07.20.09)
19. Is any of the Jewish criminals going to stand trial?
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (07.20.09)
Will any jew be arrested and charged? will anyone conpensate the innocent palestinian owner? will justice be server?
20. Burning the Pals fields.
Yochanan Hardisty ,   P.R./Yasur/US/Il.   (07.20.09)
When is the IDF&Bibi going to do something about those settler-thugs. If the Israeli gov. & the IDF cannot keep the peace on the West Bank. The UN should step in and the US should cut it's political, aid,to a gov. that cannot control the settler-thugs. As a Jew ,I cannot look the other way. While there is no Justice on the West Bank. The has turned away from Israel. And so has HaShem.
21. #4 - YNET - PLEASE ENFORCE YOUR INCITEMENT POLICY
(07.20.09)
22. #12 - Bruria - torching people's fields is not
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (07.20.09)
"fighting back." As if the farmer in those fileds had anything to do with anything. Other than farming. Only pigs behave this way.
23. The Chanalau Phenomenon strikes again......ignoring Darfur
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (07.20.09)
Dozens of fields are torched everyday in Darfur by the F. Arbs to starve to death the Black Africans and this Phenomenon is in the Mosque plotting more ways to blame Jews with his rich imagination
24. #1 ghostq well spoken
Magdalena   (07.20.09)
well said- so what or who was first? The chicken or the egg- how far back are you willing to go? 10 years? 100 years? 1000 years, Moses, Abraham? To burn the land is criminal for people who lived off the land- criminal and stupid!
25. Sounds like settlers redirected aggression, HOWEVER
usa   (07.20.09)
I've learned to be very skeptical of anything that comes from the pen of Ali Waked.
26. #24 well said Magdaena

27. burning fields can make the soil more fertile for next seaso
zionist forever   (07.20.09)
28. scorched earth policy
observer   (07.21.09)
has been banned under Article 54 of Protocol I of the 1977 Geneva Conventions: "It is prohibited to attack, destroy, remove or render useless objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population, such as foodstuffs, agricultural areas for the production of foodstuffs, crops, livestock, drinking water installations and supplies and irrigation works, for the specific purpose of denying them for their sustenance value to the civilian population or to the adverse Party, whatever the motive, whether in order to starve out civilians, to cause them to move away, or for any other motive". as usual, Israel didn't signed it, neither did the US or Iraq. But, staring Iraq has been forced to pay for setting ablaze Kuwaiti oil wells, since 18 years. So, don't bet on that,
29. bet on Arabs never having to pay for torching own fields
better observer   (07.22.09)
