I wouldn't hold my breath. If you try it, you will pass out. People have talkied about Moshiach coming for a very very long time. Centuries later, we are still here, no Moshiach, and these predictions have just made us look increasingly foolish. It's not that the age of miracles is behind us, it's that it never really was. Rebuilding the temple would serve no purpose.
62. to 61 P, Philadelphia. I disagree
ygalg ,   israel   (07.30.09)
it will served a purpose. if we the skeptic are wrong, very well. the third temple will be built and the days of redemption are taking place. but if the third temple will be built and we turned right. thus nothing special occurs. it will unleashed the burden of society from the long long voyage of vain believe and put people to take the wheel of reason instead. how else to solve it?
63. We do not "believe", we are SURE
di   (07.30.09)
Al Aqsa was built instead of the temple. Observer, your observations are totally stereotyped. Everyone is convinced that the Temple should be rebuilt in the exact place which had been destined for it by G-d Almighty.
64. i wonder about those 3%
david ,   new york   (07.30.09)
3% of religious do not want the temple rebuilt?! clearly the person mischaracterized himself as religious when he clearly is not.
65. Jerusalem is not mention in the koran
smith   (07.31.09)
get lost you have nothing to do there. Abraham was muslim?? What a crap, they are sick, total madness... How they can believe in something like this? sickness and madness is the answer. Only the Messiah can save us from a disease like this.
66. REbuild Temple. My house shall be a house of prayer for

all nations" doesnt it say that somewhere in the prophets? please verify someone. Thanks

nora ,   jerusalem   (07.31.09)
god say .. the believers who must built the tempels may be jews or cristians or jews .. i think here the religouse jews have little belief and the seculars have no belief and temple is not stones it must be from faithfull hearts ....
68. Its always been about god feeding
Le' Faux Jew ,   US   (07.31.09)
G-d really doesn't require this..MAN DOES. There isn't special magic animals or people or blood that G-d requires to be sacrificed. We were supposed to be WEANED FROM THE THINGS OF THE NATIONS ALREADY.
69. No wonder Christians think G-d required
Le' Faux Jew ,   US   (07.31.09)
a Jesus man sacrifice. THOUSANDS OF YEARS AND WE ARE STILL IN THE SAME SPOT.
70. rebuilding of temple
george rosenbaum ,   evanston, Illinois U   (07.31.09)
I am quite sure that a representative survey can be conducted which would show exactly the opposite results, if the bias of Tisha B Av were removed. This cheap publicity stunt is a disservice to Israel. Moreover the survey carefully dodged whether rebuilding was for a functioning temple or a memorial or tourist attraction. What rubbish.
71. Rambam: "Built without hands"; #66 citation
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (07.31.09)
Yekhezqeil deliberately designed his Beit ha-Miqdash (House of the Holy [Place]) too large to fit on Har ha-Bayit. Ribi Yehoshua, Rambam and Rashi, inter alia, realized that this implied a non-physical Beit ha-Miqdash; i.e., built by the Mashiakh (Rambam) "without hands" (Rashi). Ribi Yehoshua, inter alia, viewed Yekhezqeil's Beit ha-Miqdash as the cumulative naphshot (spiritual afterlives, "souls") of Yisraeil, in which each nephesh ("soul") of Yisraeil is "a stone"--אבן מאסו הבונים היתה לראש פינה--the founding stone being the overlooked Mashiakh (Tehilim 118.22). Like Torah, this Beit ha-Miqdash of Yekhezqeil is an indivisible whole. If so much as a single stone ("soul" of Yisraeil) is missing then it is less than the Beit ha-Miqdash of Yekhezqeil. Destroying even one such stone destroys the Beit ha-Miqdash of Yekhezqeil. However, unlike the physical Beit ha-Miqdash, which is vulnerable to destruction, the spiritual realm of the nephesh--the stones of the Beit ha-Miqdash of Yekhezqeil--are invulnerable to physical threat and they are eternal. The thing to remember about the Beit ha-Miqdash of Yekhezqeil and its stones, however, is that they are NOT physical; they are spiritual and eternal... AND the construction of THIS Beit ha-Miqdash has been underway for millennia, has never and can never be threatened nor destroyed, and appears to be nearly complete. Israel has been weaned from a Beit Miqdash to house and feed a g-d. In its place, the neviyim prophesy that we shall build a Beit Tephilah (House of Prayer) for all amim (kindreds; Yeshayahu 56.7), in which Torah and logical Halakhah are central. Incidentally, the location is almost a soccer field's distance north of the gold-domed mosque--see Pharisee Judaism page in the History Museum section of www.netzarim.co.il Only those who are limited to a superficial Judaic education desire to retrogress back to animal sacrifices by Biblically invalidated priests (see Nekhamyah 7.63; today's kohanim are ceremonial remembrances only). Mosheh taught (Shemot 19.5-6) that Yisraeil shall be a mamlekhet (kingdom) of kohanim, joined by a goy qadosh (holy people); the logical extension of Mosheh's wish that all of Yisraeil would prophesy (be-Midbar 11.(27-)29, clarified by Yoeil 3.1-2). Note: In Biblical times, the meaning derived from the passive form of heiviy (to bring forth): naviy, implied bringing forth Torah, NOT foretelling the future, which was a sometimes byproduct. Thus, navi (prophet) was the ancient name for a Torah teacher. The idea that prophets were foretellers of the future is largely due to the tradition of sorcerers, seers, etc. of Hellenist idolatry that, via Hellenists ("Reform Jews"), found its way into Greek (Hellenist) translations and Christianity. Summary: Yekhezqeil's Beit ha-Miqdash has been under construction for millennia and stands inviolable by man, appearing to be nearly complete. The Beit Tephilah for all kindreds can be built about a soccer field's distance north of the gold-domed mosque. This involves no reversion to animal sacrifice, restoration of Hellenist Sadducee rule or home in which a g-d dwells. Further, Dawid is prophesied to lead as Nasi (prince or president), NOT melekh (king). There is only One Melekh: ha-Sheim and we, Yisraeil who do our utmost to keep Torah (and geirim who, likewise, are doing their utmost to keep all of indivisible Torah under the supervision of a legitimate beit din--the goy qadosh), are His bride. 73. To palestinian , temple mount not Holy to Muslims
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.31.09)
If it had be the case , tell me why the Saudi ruler did'nt pay a visit there when Jordan was occupying Jerusalem from 1948 to 67 ? I , a secular Jew , was at the Western wall during my first visit here after 67 . You see , a big difference .
74. Rambam vs. Maimonides
Le' Faux Jew ,   US   (07.31.09)
If commands define what is TRUTH, than I agree in part with RAMBAM and Maimonides, in this, that if halachtic intents and purposes of sacrifice really didn't exist as we think, prior to Sinai (although RAMBAM argued that sacrifice was approaching G-d via a substitute not destruction of idolatry as Maimonides). To me it was BOTH, destroying idolatry, and approaching G-d via a WEANING SYSTEM. DYING TO OURSELVES through a substitute. Never FEED THE god blood. So my Prophet speaks;////////////// In speaking to your fathers on the day I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I gave them no command concerning holocaust or sacrifice. ////////// How can you say, "We are wise, we have the law of the LORD"? Why, that has been changed into falsehood by the lying pen of the scribes! The wise are confounded, dismayed and ensnared; Since they have rejected the word of the LORD, of what avail is their wisdom? Therefore, I will give their wives to strangers, their fields to spoilers. Small and great alike, all are greedy for gain, prophet and priest, all practice fraud
75. Side note; even the blood of escape is given not as a sign
Le' Faux Jew ,   US   (07.31.09)
for G-d, but a sign for MAN. "And the blood on the houses where you are staying shall be a sign for you: " FOR YOU (not ME). Rambam believed because the Egyptians worshipped Aries and did not kill sheep, (held shepherds in contempt); "Behold we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians" To me there is a deeper understanding. How we see or understand BLOOD REDEMPTION.
76. In fact, Mandeanns........
Le' Faux Jew ,   US   (07.31.09)
Not to be confused with the Harranians of the Islamic period (different group). These did not practice the animal sacrifice by the various Mesopotamian sects (Harranians as an example), who believed this sacrifice brought about closeness between man and gods (G-d). Manndeans thought blood / animal sacrifice was SINFUL (literal blood in and of itself is NOT CLEAN).
77. 71 , the non Jew is again here
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.31.09)
Stay in your church and pray to your yeshu , better known as jesus . And leave Jewish problems to TRUE Jews ,not self proclaimed ones as you are .
78. #73 Holy to Jews?
Jo Jo ,   London   (07.31.09)
Can something be 'holy' to a secular person? Your visit to the sights of Jerusalem in '67 does not prove that you view the western wall as a 'holy' site. On the contrary, it has as much meaning to you as the Acropolis of Athens.
79. 77 - An atheist proclaims?!? ROFL
(07.31.09)
80. Jo Jo 78 , wrong
Charles   (07.31.09)
The acropolis of athens is not a part of the History of my People as the Western Wall is . The HISTORY . And that's why i made Alyah , and you , seeing the Western Wall as a Holy site , are still in your london
81. Yes poor goy , a Proud Atheist say : you are a fake Jew
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.31.09)
I can look at a mirror and say : it's an honest guy there . While you , the baptist missionary , can only try to deceive TRUE Jews . You did'nt succeed with me .

Ehab ,   Canada   (07.31.09)
Hi, if you are interested really to know about Islam and Muhammad, if he was a real Messenger of Go or not, ou should dig a little bit. I am sending you this link http://www.55a.net/firas/en1/ if you find it worthless just leave it and keep on. Just compare how Muslims treat other religions when they used to role Spain( Andalusi, Cordoba, and Granada, then everytime else Europe was controled by white Europeans.
83. Me too--- time to rebuild after 2000 years of scattering
augustine johnson ,   birmingham-usa   (07.31.09)
yes -- after 2000 years of the scattering of Israel it is time for the world to see a new 3rd jewish temple build on its site in Jerusalem====== augustine johnson-usa====Yeshua believer in usa
84. Charles, Why the fuss
Jo Jo ,   London   (07.31.09)
about the wall. that's all it is. The muslims have much more to show for their history at the site. Look at the dome, dating form 630CE, the oldest extant islamic building in the world. The Saudi leader did not probably visit due to the historic rift between the house of hashim and did not want to aknowlegde hashimite rule of the site. More of the Jewish people's history has been in the diaspora. so if its history you're looking for you'll find it in France.
85. If you build it they will come. If you will it
Kobi ,   Cape Cod   (07.31.09)
it is no dream... Field of Dreams, and Theodore Herzl. I laugh at the Jojo's of the world only because of how brazen they are with their denial/ignorance of history. Jojo the Muslim aparrently does not know his pedophile (married an 8 year old girl) prophet recognized the Temple built 16 centuries before Mohammed was born, and 30 centuries before jo jo learned to write. Congrats jojo, You are on one very smart cookie (sarcasm). Try to lay off the maximum does ignorance/arrogance-tablets next time.
86. Jo Jo . France ? not related at all
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.31.09)
The dome ? built 6 years after mohamed's trepassing . Jerusalem not mentioned in your kuran . The saudi ruler did probably not visit because he did'nt want to acknowledge jordan rule there ? you wrote . Jews always tried to pray there , without looking at the risks to be murdered and not important who was the ruler there , because for Jews the western wall is Holy , Not as the dome of the rocks for muslims. So this is not an excuse , not wanted to recognise jordan's rule . Even the PLO did'nt mention Jerusalem in their fondation act . while Jews always said "next year in Yeroushalaim" It's the most important Historicall place of the Jews .
87. My 81 is adressed to this paqid
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.31.09)
88. 71 - i thought paqid was all about 'logic'?
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (08.01.09)
if ezekiel were a 'christian' text, he'd dismiss inconsistencies as proof of fraud and/or dishonest redaction. but for a text he LIKES, well just use a different methodology altogether. i guess rabbinic judaism is perfect for paqid because he can make any text say what his predetermined outcome wants it to say. logical.
89. I hope the architects
Sagi   (08.01.09)
will not forget to include at least five or six points for the money changers, a few brothels for the prostitutes and a grand animal stockade to house the unfortunate victims of sacrifice, you know, the burnt offerings to the God of Israel, a red heifer. Now that would really be progress, 21st century style.
