You are just plain ignorant!!!
62. Blaming the Victim, Eli?
Gary ,   Rockville MD   (08.04.09)
Eli - you're suggesting that it's the fault of those who were shot or murdered that this happened? How dare you spew your narrow-minded filth? Believe what you want, but keep it to yourself. Talk about profanity!
63. Poor Rivkeh (#15)
Gary ,   Rockville MD   (08.04.09)
This is probably one of the meanest, most ignorant, narrow-minded and just downright stupid thing I have ever heard! Rivkeh, you're telling lies, making up stupid and unfounded allegations, and inciting more hate with your distraction from the real issue - someone shot and murdered young people who were gathering peacefully. From his website, Dr. John Ankerberg looks like just another money-grubbing profiteering "fundamentalist" who uses pseudo-science and fear-mongering to turn a profit. Worse, there is no legitimate, peer-reviewed research in any of his reactionary creative writing. 15. The shooter was probably a GLBT since they are very dangerous when a same sex relationship breaks up. Dr. John Ankerberg found in his studies that resulted in a booklet on homosexuality that the average lifespan of male or female homosexuals is 42 years of age because they often kill each other when they break up.
64. Eli, learn before you speak
SK ,   Boston, MA   (08.05.09)
Eli, you have no idea what you are talking about and therefore, perhaps, you should not be speaking. Also in Nazi Germany the Jews were accused of "inciting" their own murder. Also, in Iran today. Also, during the Crusades. After all, how dare we open synagogues and flaunt our religious differences? How dare we attend German Universities in the 1920s and 30s? How dare we walk around today in kippot? Wouldn't it be better for all Jews to just be as silent as possible? As invisible as possible? Would that not decrease antisemitism? No, it would not. The State of Israel was founded by Jews who refused to beg for "tolerance" from those who hated them. Trust me, I will take up a gun -- I will burn down a yeshiva, I will scream my voice out -- before I silence myself for one minute of one hour of one day for the sake of those who murder and hate. Existing in the world is not incitement. A parade is not incitement. A T-shirt is not incitement. The only bulls eye was placed by the (most likely) haredi rabbi who created this hillul hashem. Sex is a private matter but my marriage is not. My child is not. My existance in the world is not a private matter. What you call "incitement" I call "talking about my day". What you call "perversion" I call "picking up my daugher from the mishpachton." Yes, my life is so perverse! If the baby would ever sleep perhaps I might have time for this perversion you are so worried about. In a free society, you will see things you disagree with. End of story. If you cannot tolerate seeing people you disagree with, if the mere sight of these people "incites" you to violence -- you should not live in a democracy. End of story. Go -- try your luck in Iran, in Saudi Arabia. There is no country that outlaws homosexuality where a Jew would be safe walking down the street. That is not a coincidence. Democracy protects everyone. If you want to take its protection away from me, you'd better be prepared to live without it as well. Gay pride is here. It's not going away because we are not ashamed. Do you think I am frightened of murder? Do you think I will be silent, I will be meek, I will act ashamed to make a murderer more comfortable? What kind of a Jew -- what kind of a human being -- do you think I am?
65. To Charedim
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv Rashi St   (08.07.09)
At no point should the Chardi community be blamed for this act. It is the act of a criminal or a deranged mind. Murder is forbidden. On this we agree. I believe that the reason Charedim are being blamed is the prominent hatred they express against the gay community. The continued preaching of hate and the fact that it is the Charedim who burn garbage and tires in Jerusalem. It is they who throw dirty diapers at people. When it is clear that you shout messages of hate, it is hard to remember that you actually have lines that you will not cross, such as murdering children. I support the Charedi community who would never act as murders of children. I support Charedim who would never help a child murderer. Shame on anyone who jumps to conclusions because of what a person is wearing.
