1. Get a real job !
Avi ,   Israel   (08.11.09)
Oh good greif what ever next ? oink oink
2. These people are sane?
Shimon ,   Cincinnati, USA   (08.11.09)
Maybe I should be selling tin-foil kipot. A little fact? Prayer has been demonstrated not to change patient outcomes. If one does, however "believe", why would praying in an airplane make the slightest difference? I understood that "believers" feel that G-d is everywhere. Nothing about these people makes any sort of sense except that they are guilt-fear motivated and get money and power through that.
3. waitung to see how many people bad mouth
ari   (08.11.09)
their good intentions...........
4. Who needs Tamiflu?
sean ,   london, uk   (08.11.09)

5. thanks for bringing that to the gp attention...
rabbi marketmaker ,   wall street bour$e n   (08.11.09)
Theoretically speaking means talking about a situation or concept, & if you believe in any sorts of this stuff...then i am sure the almighty must be so pissed off that there are presently a thousand viable fetuses aborted every day because some typical local...forgot to practice safety first...& then has the chutzpah to just flush it second...so getting back to my Theoretically speaking, & that means talking about a situation or concept...then it must possibly mean, of course splitting hairs as the rabunim love to do because there is virtually nothing else more pressing to do...i.e. for example, a huge ancient casaria / akko like earthquake followed by multiple sunami & or drowning in our own bodilly respiratory fluids via viral neumonia eventually migrating over to bacterial neumonia & then moshiach...right
6. Predictable Ranting by the ignoramous's
S Judah ,   london   (08.11.09)
Here are a a group of leading Mekubalim who are doing something to help their fellow men. And what is the response? the typical rants of those who know nothing about their own religion, their own traditions, how sad is that?
7. #3
Jay ,   NYS   (08.11.09)
Their intentions aren't the issue. The foolishness and futility of their superstition are the point of discussion.
8. If they think it will help
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.11.09)
let them do . It does not hurt anybody , Arkia makes some money , and they show their middle ages beliefs . How is it possible in the 21st century to believe in this .
9. mock and scoff
Jewboy ,   Jerusalem   (08.11.09)
Go ahead and have you fun by mocking and scoffing until G-D forbid you or a loved one is very sick. Only Then do you lose your ego to a moment of silent prayer. There are no atheists in a fox hole.
10. Let's hope they do a better job than Africa's Witch Doctors.
Mark ,   London   (08.11.09)
11. Unique!!! But mother taught me all prayer is good!
(08.11.09)
So basically even if it is a bit unorthodox why not!?! Not really very different from having the IAF do a security flyover...so I always thank the boys and girls of the IAF...thanks to the rabbis for their prayerful fly over! :)
12. Thank you
tma   (08.11.09)
to the rabbis and mekubalim. I hope your prayers will be heeded and there will be no more deaths due to Swine flu. Please have a prayer flight for needless road accident deaths. Many more people die of those than all flus combined.

ben ,   jerusalem-palestine   (08.11.09)
i wonder if the prayers is meant to protect all inhabitants of the land of Israel, or just the pure jewish blood. maybe God will pass the Palestinians over sorry the jews. maybe Hamas clergy should do something similar and pray for Gaza.

26. intolerance? oops, they are religious!!!
izzy d   (08.12.09)
I wonder how many Talk backers here that were openly mocking of this "flight" left outraged talkbacks in gay themed articles where they proclaimed their opposition to needles hate and how DARE anyone have issues with gays who are not hurting anyone. but of course the religious are not deserving of such "rights" and "enlightened" behavior. see friends, just as you ridicule what you deem abnormal behavior so too do "homophobes" react to abnormal behavior. I would genuinely be astonished if you internalized my message
27. Izzi d . We don't say that they are perverts , beasts
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.12.09)
pedophiles , that they should be stoned and so on . They only live in the dark middle ages . As i said it , they don't hurt anybody and nobody will not throw stones at them .
28. Ben 20 , learn geography ! Jerusalem = ISRAEL
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.12.09)
29. More details about the flight.
Amanda ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.12.09)
My Husband was one of the men on the flight. It was privately funded. They prayed for ALL the inhabitants of Israel but were forbidden to fly over Gaza, etc. by the IDF. Some of you may think it's all hocus pocus, but why get so upset about some guys flying and praying? Look up the story about the original flight by R. Pattaya and it's results. Pretty amazing.
30. Two alternative views
eli ,   nahariya   (08.12.09)
An old woman calls her doctor and says, "Doctor my husband is having a heart attack." The old time doctor responds "Give him an enema." "An enema," she asks. The doctor responds, "Couldn't hurt." Or better yet, all the great minds of the economic world, wonderful scholars from Harvard, Princeton and the University of Chicago. Were shocked at the severity of the economic downturn. Wasn't it their enlightened policies that caused it in the first place? Sometimes a bit of faith healing works pretty well -- at least for the believers.
