Yes, Israel's nuclear capabilities are for purely peaceful purposes. Israel is rumored to have had the BOMB for about forty years now. In all that time she has never used it and her Arab enemies have been unable to anihilate her. That's pretty peaceful in my book. The Iranian nuts are a different story as they want to get their messiah to show up by destroying the Jewish state.

Most Arab countries have more to worry from the secret nuclear activities in Iran & its helpers in Syria & North Korea. Several of these Arab lands are already being undermined by Iran's funded terrorist proxy groups (see Lebanon, Egypt...). So if Iran becomes a nuclear power their security situation will be even worse. No such threat is coming from Israel with or without nuclear weapons.

Europe has no say here. Whatever programs we have, they are ours and legal under international law. We do not answer to anybody.

I predicted this was the next step if people started taking their peace plan seriously, the arabs have become respected diplomats who are the ones who should be responsible for moulding the region into the 21st century. When they say it through threats the west doesn't listen but when they act like diplomats the world joins them especially over Israels nuclear program. The arabs may not fear Israel but they don't like the fact it has nukes but they know they have Obama fighting their corner now He is on a crusade to stop anybody but America having nukes. He hates Israel and loves to try and pick a fight with Israel that will create a public rift. He loves all muslim states especially arab ones. He can use it as an excuse to use the dismantling of Israels nuclear program as a bargining chip in his attempt to stop Iran aquiring nukes. The nuclear policy of saying I dont say we do & I dont say we don't have anything was Nixons. What America doesn't know exists America cannot comment on. Once the arabs know exactly what Israel has got the next stage will be taking it all away. Israels position of just acting like the servant who just does as its told, its attempts to embrace the arab world is paying off and Israel has basicly agreed to do as its told in the name of peace even when arabs make the demand. Without the nukes not just Obama but all future US presidents will abandon Israel and the policy of allowing Israel to keep a strategic edge in terms of conventional weapons which thanks to US policy is almost non existent anymore but whats left will go. There are plenty of hi-tec weapons the arabs want to buy but in the past the US has refused to sell because of a fear of altering the regonal balance of power ( the only country with nukes keeps the strongest conventional army .so it never uses nukes ). Israel will have lost the last stranglehold it has over the US and so if the Saudis or Egyptians say we want to spend alot of money in America on these advanced weapons that would put us way ahead of Israel then the US is much more likely to say you got a deal because it no longer matters about swinging the balance of power in favour of the arabs as Obama would like it to be anyway. The enemies are closing in from all sides over all issues and Israel does nothing to defend itself.

How can you call Israel a rogue state? We have been attacked multiple times by multiple countries - usually in coordination. Each time with the aim of wiping Israel off the map. At no time has Israel ever threatened or used nuclear weapons against an Arab country - even when the odds we 4 countries against 1. Israel is the only democracy in the whole region (no elections in Egypt, Syria, or Iran don't count as they are all one party elections and Lebanon still can not form a government using elections). Arabs in Israel have better quality of life, more freedom, and the right to complain unlike their brothers in all Muslim countries. If Britain and France had not gone back on their promises for rebuilding the Ottoman empire there would be no middle east conflict. So look to your own heritage of colonialism and aggressive wars before accusing Israel of being a rouge state.

The Dimona reactor is 50 years old and the last of its type, becoming dangerous to operate, which is why Israel has been trying to get new reactor the last few years. Israel will have to sign NPT to get US or EU help and this will just add to that pressure. While Israel has many nukes, it has far less than what many think.
