It seems to me like Israeli Sweden haters judge Sweden from only what they read in the papers just as Swedish Israel haters judge Israel from only what they read in the papers. The newspapers are powerful in manipulating stupid people and the haters on both sides are truly very stupid. Sad but true.

Remember that sweden is a non religious country. For us Israelis are israelis and not jews. Thats why we dont make the connection to antisemitism, because we just considder Israel like any other country. You in Israel may not agree but for a swede this is a fact. Now, most swedes that I know are pro palestinians. No doubt about that. Whatever reason for this I dont know but does it really matter? We dont HATE jews, we just dont like the israeli goverment. I would like to see Sweden put more effort into the idea of seeking truth and finding it. Right now judging by this newspaper issue, it seems that many people are just kind of settling for what they are getting, which isn't a whole lot.

I spend some time in Sweden 30 years ago. Older generation, then, were not racists but Jews were very scared. Young people, then, were dreaming of a good time, before they were born, they liked Hitler very much though they never lived under hitler. Every week they had demonstrations of socialists and anarchists (sort of Nazis) in the center of the capital. These progressives had their heads covered with Arafat's scarfs. I always saw women with pictures of Arafat and map of 'Palestine" in place of Israel - that was 30 years ago. I spoke tom one of this socialists=nazis. It seems they had respect only of ... IDF. The guy told me that Kissinger was dating one of their movie star. Why it has something to do with Israel I don't know. He was upset that people in Sweden do not speak German anymore. English replaced German, Capitalism raplacing National socialism. Very, very bad from his point of view. The guy was about 24 y/o 30 years ago.

Perhaps the most shocking example of Swedish sentiment I have seen is the time, years ago, when Gudrun Schyman (then, sadly, a prominent politician, nowadays hopefully a marginalized sideshow) appeared on national TV with a Kafia (same color and pattern Arafat always wore), after a particularly bloody day in Jerusalem where busses exploded killing dozens, and said she understood the Palestinian’s motives for these actions.
