2. In 1967, Palestine had no economy...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (09.22.09)
... because Palestine wasn't a country to have an economy in the first place. Yesha was considered Jordanian territory and Gaza Egyptian territory.
3. sorry Arabs
PW ,   Virginia USA   (09.22.09)
once again with the Arabs history starts when it's convienent for their propaganda. The economy from 1967-1985 was the best in the Arab world and crashed with the ill advised 1st intifada. But I'm sure the international leftist will seize upon this lie also...
4. The corrupt paly govt. spends all the money the whole world
gives them on weapon ,   Let them eat bullets   (09.22.09)
5. Arab League are experts in economic war
JPS ,   Efrat   (09.22.09)
Well, they're experts at losing economic wars. These are the same people who said "no peace, no negotiation, no recognition" and waged a 50 year economic boycott against Israel. These are the same Arabs who more or less also economically boycott their Palestinian brethren, then blame it all on Israel. Remember that it is Egypt that seals its border with Gaza. It was Kuwait who kicked out its Palestinian population because their wondrous leader Arafat supported the Saddam Hussein invasion and rape of Kuwait. Arab League shmarab league. The Palestinians should do themselves a favor - quit the Arab League and try to join the EU.
6. Since 1967 Palestinian economy had grown and diversified
Boaz ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (09.22.09)
Universities, businesses, newspapers, rising quality of living, etc. But every time they chose violence, all these achievements were lost. The first two talkbackers are jerks, if you two idiots have nothing to constructive to say – shut up.
7. More Gazans had jobs under Israeli rule than Hamas rule
Randi ,   Jerusalem   (09.22.09)
8. unparalleled hypocricy
EZ   (09.22.09)
Arabs have boycotted the Israeli economy and have encouraged boycotts of Israel since 1948. They have used their oil economies to threaten, coerce others and have caused tremendous damage to the Israeli economy. (Not to mention wars terrorism, etc) They also boycott Israeli books, movies, art and anything else they can.
9. 6% GDP growth last year for Pals in Judea/Samaria
Logic ,   Israel   (09.22.09)
10. #6: OK, self-appointed Jerk Police, here's something
5th generation ,   Israel   (09.22.09)
The majority of the 'Palestinian economy' was enabled by Jews returning to Israel, and enjoyed by suddenly indigenous 'Palestinian' immigrants who flooded in to take part. Since they insisted on biting the proverbial feeding hand from day one, there is only so much sympathy to which they are entitled, no matter how much psychological manipulation they attempt.
11. stop whining you don't have to donate any money.

12. You don't like it, too bad.
vered ,   israel   (09.23.09)
By the way, that kind of was the idea. What took you so long to figure it out?
13. Israel launching financial war on Arabs?
William ,   Israel   (09.23.09)
What does the Arab League call the "Israeli boycott" which they both supported and implemented (illegally, I might add) against Israel since 1948? Arabs really hate when even a tiny part of their "arsenal" is used against them.
14. Funny, in 1999 Pal economy was fastest growing in world
William ,   Israel   (09.23.09)
Somehow that was MISSED from this report by the Arab League. But they must be unbiased because it's written on paper and the word "research" was used a lot, and the media mentioned it. Isn't that the Big 3 needed for credibility in the Arab world and among the Leftist morons?? TRUTH - in 1999, the Pal economy was the fastest growing in the world and Foreign Direct Investment was at an all-time high (despite much of it being smuggled away by the PLO). There were NO borders or roadblocks and both Israelis and Pals moved freely....that is, until Arafat began his racist terror war and began killing civilians. Nothing ruin a nice party like violence and mayhem. Which is why Foreign Investment dried up and roadblocks went up. Imagine if Pals had actually rejected Arafat's war and continued on the path of 1999....something vastly different would be in WB/Gaza today...and it wouldn't be Hamas. As for Pal workers inside Israel...if they are treated so inhumanely, which in G-d's name do they continue to sneak into Israel, even move inside the Green Line for residency cards, if it is so bad?
15. and Arbs boycott Israel financially since 1948
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (09.24.09)
16. HUH?
bobo ,   mechanicsburg USA   (09.26.09)
I also think Israel has no right to defend itself. And Ithink Israel should not be allowed safe borders, should allow unrestricted free transportation and trade of bomb making materials and free passage and where in the country for terriorists. I cannot understand why Israel would want to restrict movement in their own territory just because suicide bombers use those same travel routs... Let's just make up the news like Muslims do.
17. Hate themselves
bobo ,   mechanicsburd USA   (09.26.09)
(Again) How can so many countries appear to support the PA and a peoples who hate Jews more than they love their own children and even themselves? Talk about your suicide wishes. Why don't we just let them kill themselves off? What's that about curtting off one's nose again?
18. and now "the big lie"?
tom ,   toronto, canada   (09.27.09)
who stifled "palestinian economic development" before 1967? and why has the situation of the palestinians only worsened, not "since 1967" as the arab league alleges, but only "since the intifada", since israel cannot allow continual terrorist attacks on its population? "financial war"? has the arab league ever stopped its economic war against israel, called the "arab boycott", which it has been pursuing since 1948? this is just more arab rhetoric at its most disingenuous.
