It is fine if they were only checking at the El Al check-in, but they were not. They were checking up on people not even flying with El Al and questioning people in the general airport area also, they also interrogated people not even flying with them. Way out of order and I would say to South Africa... kick them out of your country they don't deserve to operate in a democratic nation. Go look at all four clips before you get on your high horse: http://beta.mnet.co.za/carteblanche/?ShowId=1

First of all, to anyone who is not Israeli or at least Jewish, and has traveled twice outbound from Tel Aviv, Mr Garb didn't reveal anything new. The ranking with the numbers is so obvious after the first time.. El Al is not exactly my problem. I have been living in Israel for several years. My problem is that every time I travel out of Ben Gurion airport, and it doesn't matter which airline in the world I fly, I always go through at least one hour of interrogation and it used to be that I would get another hour of checking my luggage, and the occasional computer check. Recently it seems they have changed strategies slightly - I now get at least hour and a half interrogation, and my computer is sent to another room, and then they ask to see my transcript, other documents, talk to Israeli friends of mine (Israeli, and nothing else, once my Jewish American bf tried to help speed up the process and he got yelled at to leave).. I understand national security concerns, this is my job. But we need to keep evolving and inventing better strategies. Just because it works, it doesn't mean it's the best way. I seriously know people who don't ever want to come back here only because of these apt checks. I love Israel and I hate the miserable feeling I get whenever I fly out. I deserve better. By the way.. I'm white, European, educated and I am really low-risk.

- I can totally see you working as a security officer at Ben Gurion apt. You even say the same things they do, with just about the same amount of emotion (btw, you sure you are a woman?) - Oh and, of course Israel is a top target for terrorism, but no not the only one, and in many cases not even the primary one. Global jihad extended into South-East Asia a while ago.. There have been plots for Qantas already.
