Yes, please, stop giving aid to Israel..who has always been an ingrate for the assistance it has received. Better give it to the people in this country who have lost their jobs and their homes. Shut of aid to the PA, Hamas, Egypt, Jordan, Peace Now, Betslehem etc. Stop funding the UN which treats you like dirt. You'll save a lot more that way than by cutting off the small amount that comes Israel's way.

So Israel will put back the weapons deal it negotiated with the Chinese -- $18 billion -- and the one negotiated with the Republic of Georgia -- $7 billion -- both of which were withdrawn at the request of the United States. With $25 billion in its Treasury, the United States can takes its $2.8 billion and shove it right alongisde its demands that Israel "negotiate" with a people who are devoted to the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination and/or expulsion of the Jewish people. The United States gets to keep $2.8 billion, Israel earns $25 billion and will not negotiate "peace" with an entity that refuses to renounce its charter calling for the destruction of the State of Israel and also refuses to recognize the right of the State of Israel to exist in its ancient homeland. Sounds pretty good to me. The United States can just go right on ahead and cultivate its great good friends the Saudis, the Egyptians and the Jordanians. Really dependable allies, I must say.

Under the US Symington Amendment of 1976 it is illegal for the US to send aid to countries that have nuclear facilities which are not signatories of the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty. Never mind the US not sending these loans, the US should make Israel pay back the billions it has received illegally

Let Israel be weaned off of American loan guarantees, financial aid, political support, etc,etc,etc. Let Israel finally become an independent state and not a monkey on the back of the American taxpayer.

We are a much more diversified economy these days. We have strong ties to the east and are leading the Hi-Tech world. Much of the western world relies on our medical and scientific advances. The economy is one of the best in the world as opposed to the US. If economic partnership began to break down between the US and Israel, it is the US that would suffer. This is fact over looked by those Israelis striving to be more Western than Israeli.

The US does not and never has given money that is used for settlement construction. Israel get very little in financial aid these days, Obama recently committed around $900 million cash hand out to the palestinians. Israel gets nothing like $900 million in cash and never has. Loan guarantees are not cash in hand they are exactly what they sound like guarantees that the US will pay Israels debt if it defults payment allowing it to get better deals when borrowing and Israel does pays its debts so its not costing the US anything. As for military aid the US arms companies would be lobbying Obama would be hurting US business & the economy if he threatened to use military aid as some kind of sanction. These contracts with Israel are worth billions to these companies and to the US economy. What the US gives through aid is just a subsidy kind of 2 for the price of 1 most Israels weaponry bought in the US comes from the pockets of Israeli taxpayers. So the US has much more to loose by using military aid as some kind of punishment than Israel does. Sucessive governments have talked about a desire to end military aid because there are so many string attached. If the US is no longer proving reliable then it might just happen at last & the US will loose alot of business because Israel would be free to shop elsewhere for the best products at the best prices they would no longer be obligated to buy Made in America and that woul cost alot of American jobs. The US would loose alot of political muscle they currently have..

Notice that there's not one peep about all the other US allies getting aid - only Israel. Our "good" Arab friends pretty much openly support terrorists and we can't stop running to give them $$. What do we get in return? Dead and wounded American Soldiers and Airplane bombers. But Israel who gives us invaluable technology and must spend the money on American products is bashed.

It is neither far nor far fetched. The fields are run by foreign workers. Who, other than those already at war with israel, would attack Israel? As long as the flow is stable no one will really care. The oil is needed as reparations for saudi terror financing. Israel can be full independent with energy and natural resources(uranium) accounted for.

...it's been agreed that Israel does not admit to having nukes, and therefore the US does not have to treat it as if it has nukes. If Israel openly declares its nukes, or even if the US admits its knowledge of Israel's nukes, then you will be right, the aid will be illegal. It's all currently a convenient legal and diplomatic fiction. But every once in a while, a little daylight flushes these things out.
