61. #46, you know nothing
Rachel ,   Staten Island, NY   (03.19.10)
He meant 'untouchables' like the untouchables of the caste system in India. Seriously get your head out of your @ss and stop nit picking. And stop trying to change the subject and make violence against women ok. It's sickening.

you are OT- I was talking to Ariel- answering HIS arguments- what about 'christian education'? This has NOTHING to do with this discussion- read #25- it has everything to do with MEN putting down women - religious men. I thought YOU did not believe in God? yet you take the side of every Rav who comes up with yet another rotten egg of an idea, who thinks God speaks to him!- anything to keep women chained to the sink: they are not allowed to pray, must wear 'chaste' clothing, must stay at home, etc. etc.... I have no issue with normal people of any religion or gender- but if it involves molesting children , speaking against gays and lesbians, denying women every right- then I speak up- here in a Jewish newswpaper, in Europe in any newspaper who dares publish this kind of injustice- and has a readership that is opinionated, racist or just plain stupid- take your pick. If Israel is really a democracy - then a minority of religious or other extremist thinkers should not be able to manipulate or frighten women or children- or seculars-.

Where did i take the side of a rav ?, there is no Rav involved here , only some extremists . If you answer to someone , others may also react , or not ? Old history , yes Ariel spoke of old history , but i remembered your "christian education" given to those who murdered millions not so long ago .. And , in your # 60 , you generalise , it are only some extremists who throw chairs , not the Jews . PS what is OT ?
64. Dear Lisa , you missed again an occasion
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (03.21.10)
to remain silent . So for you a non believer MAY NOT defend a Rav when he thinks that this Rabbi is right ? Shall i attack a rav when he condemns child or women abuse ? No , i will praise and/or defend him , and you , a Gentile , will also do it . Have a fine Sunday
65. #64 Charles, there is always a rabbi there...
Lisa   (03.21.10)
"There was a rabbi there who shouted with a croaky voice, 'See what it means to be a real Jew,' read the article Charles. There is usually a Rabbi involved- telling people what to do... they have not been absent when there were riots and fights- they have not been silent- or were silent when they should have spoken out against the violence. OT means off topic- christian education in this case. Not sure why you keep bringing this up all the time. I speak for the basic rights of women to pray without being attacked by fanatics- what does this have to do with christian education etc.?. since you Jews pray too---. People (men) who attack praying women have little to do with Jews as a group- so save your sympathy for those who really need it.
66. 65 , Lisa , did i defend this Rabbi ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (03.21.10)
Yes or No ? Did i show sympathy to those charidim ? Yes or No ? May i defend a Rabbi , when i think he is right while being secular ? Yes or NO . This story has nothing to do with "christian education" , but your reaction to Ariel "this is old History" made me talking about it in RECENT history . That's why i bring ,and will continue to do it ,it up I thank you for acknowledging that those people have nothing to do with Jews as a group , so don't say "the Jews" anymore when you talk about a little fringe of the Jewish people .

Lisa   (03.22.10)
I will stop saying 'the Jews' as a group when I mean Haredim or Orthodox, whatever- when you stop saying 'Christians' when you talk about Baptists, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons etc..Protestants , Anglicans There are Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists as a religious orientation- and there are subgroups and sects in all those- so call them by their proper name- please. THEN we can have a discussion again.

You did'nt answer my questions . Because you were 100 % wrong , because you can't justify your writings ! Calling a group "the Jews" is not the same as talking about christians . It sounds not so nicely , it sounds in the same way they were talking about us sonme 70-80 years ago . And don't forget : YOU , LISA brought in this "christian education" , and now you cowardly flee .....nice education you enjoyed .
