1. surprised? im not
Zohan ,   Zion   (03.29.10)
is it any wonder that the opening of the floodgates to arab and turkish immigration has brought upon europe this blatant discrimination and anti-Semitism?I hope that all of Europe now understands this disease that it bred for itself.
2. Some posters keep telling Jews to go back to Germany and Pol
Alan ,   SA   (03.29.10)
So even if Jews went back to Germany ,Muslims would be waiting there to hurt them. Same with France , Sweden, Netherlands , UK All over EU Muslims are busy assaulting Jews.
3. Can Israeli actions be a root of antisemitism?
Ken ,   Switzerland   (03.29.10)
4. Thank you no. 3... enough with this anti-Semitic BS
Chris ,   USA   (03.30.10)
stop acting as if anti-semitism is an innate characteristic in people... or that some people dislike Jews simply because they are jewish... maybe if Jews in Israel stop terrorizing and bullying the people of the region they might learn that nobody actually has any problem with Jews... and to no.1... ignorant and prejudiced people like you are the disease in this world... i bet you think Palestinians in refugee camps everywhere hate jews because they are anti-Semitic right?
5. The cause can not come after the result
M ,   Canada   (03.30.10)
There was no anti-semitism in Europe before 1948, right? Oh. One second...
6. "anti-semitism"
sjoerd van der velde ,   hoorn-the netherland   (03.30.10)
in stead of speaking about anti-semitism, i prefer to speak of jews-hatred or racism/discrimination/xenophobia/segregation/apartheid towards e.g. jews or any other people(s), ethnicity, race, group, colour, sex, language, religion, conviction, descent, status, age etc. is all evil and objectionable. see eventually: the universal declaration of human rights.
7. Our problem
(03.29.10)
In fact arabs and immigrants of turkey causing a lot probs in germany. They mostly are low educated and just come to take part in the social net, many of them still dont like the country and only stay for the money. They raise the criminal statistics bc they dont care on democratic liberate spirit.. BUT if the germans dont wanna accept their non integrating troublening behaviour anymore, they are automaticly insulted as nazis again..
8. shame
Mayka ,   Hamburg   (03.30.10)
I'm deeply ashamed to read such news about my country - while, just as Zohan, not surprised. Europe is facing deep troubles. I can't believe how long it takes for our political and media elites to notice.
9. to #3:
tom ,   toronto, canada   (03.30.10)
and you were an anti-semite before there was an israel, so what was "the cause" then? the truth as written in the bible long ago, is "for it is known that esau hates jacob". it gives no reason because anti-semites are never at a loss for "reasons" to explain their irrational hatred.
10. @Ken
Martin ,   Johannesburg, SA   (03.30.10)
Anti-semitism existed long before there was an Israeli State, so how could the root of anti-semitism be israeli actions. Israel exists as a state today as an effort to protect jews from European and Arab antisemitism. Now they want to destroy those jews who took refuge in their own country and those who remained in Europe.
11. #2 Totally agree with you Alan.
Scott ,   Australia   (03.30.10)
Exactly right, so often you read smart arse comments from people saying that the "occupiers" should "go back to Europe". Go back to what? As we all know...many thousands of Jews have been kicked out of neighbouring arab countries...where are they supposed to go? Its more than time that people accepted Israel...and learnt to live with it.
12. Ken is an idiot
yonatan   (03.30.10)
13. #3 - Ken from Switzerland
Josh S ,   USA   (03.30.10)
Since antisemitism existed long before Israel existed, I would so no. Israeli actions can't be the rot of antisemitism.
14. What Jew in his right mind would live in Germany?
Josh S ,   USA   (03.30.10)
Just when you thought you were safe from the Nazis there, you find that a new batch of left wing antisemites will kill you instead. It may be a different ideology but the result is the same. Get out of there while you still have time.
15. Arabs and Turks are the same
Dan   (03.30.10)
Arabs and Turks are the same. Mohammadists! How can the European Union consider EU membership for Turkey? Arabs and Turks don't respect the values of that of the West. If European countries don't stop the mass immigration coming into their countries from Muslim countries, Europe will soon be an Islamic continent. Just look at the Brits. The Brits have lost total control of their country and they are being rebranded as the "Islamic Republic of Britain".
16. to #3
Barney ,   USA   (03.30.10)
are you serious? Anti-Semitism is ages older than the state of Israel. Israeli actions are for the protection of Jews against anti-semitism because nowhere in the world are Jews guaranteed protection except Israel. That is why Israel must be strong and absolute in building the nation. If you don't like it then it is because you have never walked in the shoes of the Jewish people. And if you don't like it then tough, you will face your own problems soon enough because with a name like ken i assume you aren't muslim and are thus an infidel and thus not worthy of life in the eyes of fanatical islam. understand?
17. Ken @ 3, it depends on when it started. For example,
leo ,   usa   (03.30.10)
if we will take Hebron or Tsfat massacres old Israel was already dead for almost 2000 years and new Israel did not exist yet. Some even would argue new Israel is direct response to anti-Semitism. Of course, one must not forget the humiliation of defeat Arabs had to endure and keep enduring from stinking kikes, but that's another story.
18. The root to the rise in antisemitism.
Charles ,   Los Angeles   (03.30.10)
The root to the rise in antisemitism can be found in Israel. Instead of playing victim, Jews might reflect on the racism practiced in the occupied territories.
19. Ken #3...
Danny M ,   Vancouver, Canada   (03.30.10)
Gosh, Ken, I don't know. Seems like most of the world has persecuted us Jews non-stop, even for the nearly 1,350 years Israel didn't exist since the last Jews were exiled by the Romans. Do you think that maybe anti-Semitism could be the reason Israel exists once again? Would you also be willing to consider the possibility that the more Jews flee to Israel to escape anti-Semitism might lead to forcing the Palestinians out of the West Bank and Gaza to make room for the Jewish refugees that suddenly came pouring in? You did study world history in school, didn't you?
20. Anti semitic attacks in Berlin
roxie ,   K.HaimIsrael   (03.30.10)
Deport the Turks and Arabs that are doing these acts to the countries they came from, and limit immigration from those lands.
21. THE WORST RACISTS IN THE WORLD = MUSLIMS
(03.30.10)
22. to#3 - No, antisemitism is the root
Marina Oliver ,   Tel Aviv   (03.30.10)
of global antisemitism, not helped in the least by certain ''neutral" elements.
23. #3 hmmmmn
Brian ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (03.30.10)
Let's see.........no, nice try though. Those actions you speak of are a whole lot of antisemitic propaganda to begin with. Not to mention antisemitism existed long before 1948. Here's a thought why don't you shut up. The main problem with my people is they don't know how to tell an ass like you to just shut the hell up.
24. #3 In that case...
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (03.30.10)
Every time an Arab terrorist kills Israelis, European Jews are justified in retaliating against European Muslims. Sound logical to you?
25. #3
Takan ,   Elat   (03.30.10)
Ken, you are implying that antisemitism did not exist before Israel was created, back in 1948. Do you get your ideas from a blond barbie doll? The roots of antisemitism, like any racist ideology, is stupidity and a lack of quality education.
26. #4 Antisemitism preceded Israel and will outlive it
(03.30.10)
I'm sure my grandchildren that will be living in the US or Europe after the destruction of Israel will suffer from antisemitism.
27. to #4
Stout Viking ,   Israel   (03.30.10)
Let's see... Machetta massacares in Africa and kidnappings and rapings of Christian girls in India and Pakistan don't seem to be in the way of Muslim popularity. Nope. Ken, are you driving a pink plastic convertable? Because you talk an awful lot of crap for a human being.
28. An ancient Jewish proverb
Sagi   (03.30.10)
Once bitten, go back and get bitten again. In colloquial lingo, a sucker for punishment. I for one have no sympathy for them.
29. All minorities where discriminated against not just jews...
Chris ,   USA   (03.30.10)
except of course discrimination against jews has a name for it... so yeah anti-semitisim existed before israel but so did discrimination against minorities and various social groups everywhere on earth.... no one is saying there wasn't any discrimination agains jews before israel but open your eyes people.... the root of all the hatred towards Jews in our times is ISRAEL and its actions.... no sane or informed person can deny this...
30. this is not new
Hen   (03.30.10)
About 10 years ago a group of Jews were walking down into the Underground/Metro and were blown up in a bomb attack, I think it was in Mannheim. It is very unsafe to be a Jew in Germany (duh....) and it was very very stupid to try to build up communities there of Russian Jews who didn't want to go to Israel.
