Since we are allowing all these products and assorted aid and there is no crisis, WHY THE HELL AREN'T WE SAYING SOMETHING? What is wrong with us, every chance we have to win something we run somewhere else. We can't help but continue to try to fail. WHY DON'T WE HAVE AT LEAST SOME PR...what are our moron leaders thinking? and with that I give them too much credit the question should be why don't our moron leaders think?????....
2. It`s aTurkish provokation needing a reaction.
Nora Tel Aviv   (05.26.10)
Mr. Tayyib Erdogan gets more Turkish Muslim`s votes by constantly provoking against Israel. Latest Turkish statistics show that his party, the religious AKP, will have 40% of the votes while the nearest rival party, the socialist CHP, will have only 20% of the votes. Unless Israel finds the way of stopping him, Erdogan will not stop provoking.
3. I wish "Israel" act wisely, not narrow-mindedly
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.26.10)
People in Gaza, also need to Human communication with others, , and not only to goods and food, they're human beings, not animals!! Let them enter Gaza, and not to provoke the international public opinion
4. If there is nothign wrong, there is nothing wrong with this
curious reader ,   USA   (05.26.10)
If as is stated in a number of articles I've read today, there is no shortage of goods in Gaza, then what is the harm in allowing free movement of visitors bringing gifts to Gaza? Maybe I'm missing something, but all I see is some people delivering some gifts to a group of people who (not blaming anyone) are living in pretty harsh conditions. So what harm? If Israel wants to do the smart thing they will say "Yes, come, welcome!" and that would be the best way of dealing with this. If the response is the usual agression then that only bolsters the visitors case in saying it is like a Nazi concentration camp. Note: I don't live in either Gaza or Israel, so only a outside viewpoint. I'm sure the decades of hate built up on both sides would make me see it differently if I was there.
5. Palestine was lost ..
Ali   (05.26.10)
Palestine was lost because the Ottoman sultanate was weak. Sultan Erdogan is the come back
6. Salma 3, why don't Egypt allow them in?
Bart ,   Israel   (05.26.10)
Aren't the Egyptians Arabs? they're human beings, no?
7. Only Islamic countires get away with PR villifying Israel
kate b ,   uk   (05.26.10)
and this is what is being listened to as Gaza can communicate its bile everywhere! Every country, even Afghanistan is connected to the Western invented WWW and as you can see, no.3 the world IS connected to Gaza, and its terrorist leaders as WESTERN aid is coming in. What to do? Big banners with 'You are fools to believe the Fatah (PMediaWatch) propaganda." It's always slamic regimes running 3rd world countries despite their wealth who are at fault. Bet Israel don't run crying to the U.N.
8. to curious reader
gene ,   tlv   (05.26.10)
The problem with this is that it is a cheap PR stint and deliberate provocation against Israel. These extreme Leftist and Islamist groups want to make it seem that Gazans are starving or suffereing when they clearly are not! Gaza may not be Luxembourg or Singapore, ie their standard of living is crap, but then again, it will NEVER be like it is in wealthier countries because Hamas and Islamist Arabs don't give a damn about their citizens, they only seek a name for themselves through martyrdom. Unfortunately, naive people outside of this region DO NOT know the truth and buy into this nonsense that Hamas is good and the Israelis are some sort of tyrants and baby killers- its actually the complete opposite!-

caution and respect. Unfortunately the truh has been twisted to make us look like the criminals. dont forget the saying " those who are kind to the cruel are cruel to the kind". You seem very eager to understand what is happening here. Please keep digging and you will arrive at the proper conclusion.

salma writes"I wish "Israel" act wisely, not narrow-mindedly" if just struck me as funny because it's like saying night is day, up is down, square is round and so on and so forth. I'm sure she thinks the arabs ans hamas are very open minded.
11. #3 - salma: agree, its sort of support and normality too for

colin   (05.26.10)
Israel must use a very heavy hand and sink a few of these terrorist boats. How will Israel react if these were only a cover up for a terrorist aggression??? The security of Israel is at stake !!!!!!! To hell with the thoughts of the leftest world.

ghostq   (05.26.10)
conditions they normaly wouldn't get like cable tv and degree in collage, but since Hamas won't let even the red cross reach Gilad than they probably understand better when they will get the same condition as he does.
17. #11eporue, I wish that I could help Ms. Shalit
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.26.10)
I don't like to see any mother suffer, the mother is the mother, whether they are Jewish or Palestinian The problem is that extremist leaders on both sides, unfortunately, succeeded in anesthesia public opinion
18. Best solution
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (05.26.10)
As some readers already suggested: Let them in..and let them stay there and enjoy holidays amongst their cousins. Btw, do not forget to explain to the women on board that bikini might not work on Gaza's beach..
19. Israel likes nothing less than a peaceful demonstration

Yes, Salma, and the Nasrallah which you praised so very much on some other issue, is one of the worse..
21. Nora in Tel Aviv
Özer Yıldız ,   İstanbul, Turkey   (05.26.10)
No Nora, dear...Erdoğan might succeed on 40% of the vote and these votes will come from many people, religious or not. The CHP, or Kemalist party which has had nothing new to offer Turkish Politics or Turkey since the 1930s will struggle to get 20% for this reason. I am not religious at all but I support Erdoğan because he has offered Turkey what years of CHP could never do. If you knew anything about Turkish politics you would understand why Erdoğan is so popular, not just for the reasons of your narrow İsraeli mindedness but for his successes in making Turkey the country that it is today. Instead of focusing on stopping our leader, you should focus on stopping your dangerous leader before he loses all his friends. Erdoğan made many friends. Netanyahu lost all of his. You need to deal with that
22. Let them in, just dont let them out again.
Jonny ,   South Africa   (05.26.10)
Let them in, just dont let them out again.
23. Ozer Yildiz in Istanbul
Nora Tel Aviv   (05.26.10)
Thank you for helping me understand who really is Mr. Erdogan. True, he has made many new friends but at a price....He turned his back to his old friends.Today Ahmadinejad is one of his best friends, a relationship that hardly pleases his former western friends, Mr.Obama being one of them.
24. #18 What bikinis?
Joey Rose ,   Portland   (05.26.10)
A bunch of Swedes and Greeks are going to want to sunbathe in the nude. Maybe Hamas will make an exception this one time for their honored guests.

28. :: Israel’s ‘enlightened blockade’ of the Gaza Ghetto
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (05.26.10)
Isn’t it nice to be reassured by Israel, which continues its brutal occupation and stranglehold on Gaza, that ‘everything is okay’? Why can’t the world recognize and praise Israel for its ‘enlightened blockade’ of Gaza? After all Israel was so magnanimous in recently allowing “a shipment of clothes and shoes to be delivered to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip for the first time in its almost three-year-old tight blockade of the enclave” (Ynet – March 2010). Of course there are some goods that Israel will not allow into Gaza because Hamas could use these goods for ‘military purposes’, these ‘dual-purpose’ goods include: children's crayons, toys and books, vinegar and spices, paper, glass, baby diapers, jam, chocolate, french fries, dried fruit, fabrics, notebooks, empty flowerpots etc. Why can’t the world just ignore continuing the Israeli collective punishment of the civilian population in Gaza? Why can’t the world just ignore the fact that thousands upon thousands of children in Gaza have never know what freedom is like as they have been born under Israeli occupation? Why does the looney left insist on such ‘provocative acts’ as sending humanitarian aid to Gaza? Clearly such ‘provocative acts’ are unnecessary as Israel allows ‘just’ enough humanitarian aid into Gaza to stave off a humanitarian disaster. So what if Israel has destroyed the civilian infrastructure in Gaza? So what if Israel has refused to allow reconstruction material into Gaza? So what if Israel uses live rounds to disperse unarmed protesters? So what if Israel continues to collectively punish 1.5 million civilians? So what if Israel has destroyed farmland and wells? Only ‘anti-Semites’ like Goldstone would focus on such matters by stating that Israel’s goal is to: "humiliate and terrorize a civilian population, radically diminish its local economic capacity both to work and to provide for itself, and to force upon it an ever increasing sense of dependency and vulnerability”.

nicely put John. hahahaha. I loved your comment. it seems to me people/talkback-ers in here need a dash of salt pepper and humor really badly.
30. Lies about the open air prison called Gaza
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (05.26.10)
The Israeli reaction to the flotilla is truly sickening. The IDF calls the situation in Gaza 'stable', as if Israel's warped view of stability is to be accepted. Children in Gaza are still being refused textbooks and school supplies, Israel at its whim decides what medical and construction supplies and what type and amounts of food or other goods is 'allowed' to enter. And then displays its anger when others call Israeli policy for what it really is: a siege. Even though none of the goods on these boats could ever be used as weaponry, Israel sees the flotilla as a weapon in and of itself. Why? Because it exposes the wanton cruelty inherent in Israel's policy of 'collective punishment'. Gaza is under occupation, no matter what Israeli's claim. They are blockaded by both land and sea. The UN and the rest of the international community recognize that one immutable fact. And when Israel denounces those who would bring humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, it shows the world that Israel truly doesn't care about the innocents. It merely wants to keep them bottled up in their Israeli- enforced prison. Infortunately, the world community is too cowardly to call this siege of Gaza what it really is: a crime against humanity. And I am ashamed that my country colludes with and finances the perpetrators of this crime.
