96. TO#52 Finns are not rel;ated to Turks
Rod ,   Fargo N.Dakota   (06.11.10)
If you look it up you will find they are one of the most ancient people in Europe. They European Genetically related somewhat to Baltic people. This story about a relationship to Turks has been going around for some time but now genetic testing it has been proven that the Finnish people are N.European with some relationship to Baltic people.

Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (06.11.10)
What I especially liked, was the enormous driving skill of Jörg Haider, he could have performed very well in Formula One... Peter certainly has a great passion for sport cracks...
100. Finally some good news from...

one of the Nordic countrys. Hopefully it is a good sign...
101. Finland vs. Sweden
JH ,   Uppsala, Sweden   (06.11.10)
Having been in Uppsala, Sweden for almost 2 years now, it's embarrassing how the muslim "minority" controls so much of what the Swedes do! They are so scared to do anything that doesn't make the muslims happy. It is disturbing and unfortunately I am scared they will pay for it in the long run! I wish they would open their eyes and support Israel! It's the only chance they have to keep a traditional Sweden! Anything else, and they will become North Arabia!
102. THANX FOR YOUR SUPPORT
coen brother ,   IL   (06.11.10)
103. Thank you Finland and Tundra Tabloids
There is NO Santa Cl ,   Fairbanks, USA   (06.11.10)
My thanks to the people of Finland and especially KGS59 of the Tundra Tabloids http://tundratabloids.blogspot.com Thanks to KGS, a whole generation of Finns are getting the other side of the story not being told by the mainstream news media. Hopefully, Finland can avert what has happened in Sweden and Norway. I'm glad the pro-Israel rally brought comfort to the citizens of Israel. Please be assured that no matter what the mainstream media does to demonize Israel, many of us know that we're being fed a biased and anti-Israel narrative.
104. Thank you Finns

105. Air Force Finland symbol up
MarkQ ,   Finland   (06.11.10)
FYI Nigel, Canada: Air Force Finland symbol shows the swastika with "arrows" arms up "Broken" solar cross, swastika, it is an ancient symbol. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika The swastika (from Sanskrit svástika स्वस्तिक) is an equilateral cross with its arms bent at right angles, in either right-facing (卐) form or its mirrored left-facing (卍) form. Archaeological evidence of swastika-shaped ornaments dates from the Neolithic period in Ancient India. It occurs mainly in the modern day culture of India, sometimes as a geometrical motif and sometimes as a religious symbol. It remains widely used in Indian religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Though once commonly used all over much of the world without stigma, because of its iconic usage as Hakenkreuz in Nazi Germany the symbol has become stigmatized in the Western world, notably even outlawed in Germany. Hakenkreuz in Nazi Germany shows arms down. So there is a clear distinction that everyone should observe. Nigel Canada, you are forgiven, other people too make your mistake.
106. Allied Forces in WWII "supported" Russia
MarkQ ,   Finland   (06.11.10)
1. Stalin + Hitler made Ribbentrop-pact to divide Poland to Hitler and the Baltikum (=Estonia, Latvia ; Lithuania) + Finland to Stalin. Stalin planned take over Finland in 2 weeks time tops. 2. Hitler doublecrossed Stalin and attacked Moscow. 3. Allied forces were against Hitler and forced to "support" Russia and therefore could not officially support Finland. 4. Luftwaffe gave a strong effort to defeat the Russians at the Finland/Russia-border. So the Finns understand, what it is to face a mighty enemy alone. Nowadays Israel has at least some support from USA. 5. Maybe You, Robert Hammond, could tell now, what Finland should have done under those circumstances: Russia trying to invade + no support from Allied Forces? 6. Finnish language is related to the Hungarian language. 7. Genetically the Finns are a mixture of western people(Sweden+Denmark+Switzerland+Norway+Germany+Holland+Baltikum+Viking) and eastern from the river Volga. Allied Forces in WWII "supported" Russia, not exactly savoury no matter what the reasons.
107. Turkey's slander
Triantaphilou ,   Athens, Greece   (06.11.10)
The pro-Israeli sentiment in Greece has skyrocketed after Israel 's staunch determination to enforce the international law vis a vis the Gaza blockade and stop Turkey's islamist provocation. This action was here clearly interpreted as a blatant sellout of Israel as an ally and a clearcut change of camp.Turkey's subsequent slanders at Israel in the UN Security Council invoking international law iincreased public indignation for such an audacity, even though all knew how treacherous Turkey can be. Israel's straight rebuttal on the grounds of antiterrorism the ciear implication of Turkey in connexion with the Cypus 1974 invasion and her contempt of law in the persistance to ignore up to this date the UN Security Council relevant resolutions sufficed to exubarate public recognition. The subsequent developments at the UN Security Coucil and Turkey's refusal for sanctions to Iran's nuclear program have revealed her dangerous for the world policy reversal in which Israel was to be used the lamb fora sacreligious sacrifice. All said and done, there is little doubt left that Israel had to put up for too long with a mischievious ally at the expense of an overt stance for our rights. These late events have dispersed coincidently any preceding reactionary pro Arab sentiment and brought to focus and our souls the many and very things we have in common. That's straight news from Greece that cannot yet surface with massive demonstrations because people here have been betrayed for too long. Constantine Triantaphilou Architect
108. Finnish does only love money no Turkey in EU?
MarkQ ,   Finland   (06.11.10)
to observer (06.11.10) : Please explain what do you mean by this: Turkey-in Eu <> Finland out of EU + Turkey-Cyprus talk on the condition that Turkey recognizes Cyprus => Finnish does only love money. I don't get it. Finland is a netto contributor to the EU = Finland pays more than receives. Compare this to Bulgaria, Romania, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain. When are the Turks going to apologize for the Armenian genocide where the Turks killed/murdered 1.000.000 Armenians (Kurdis)? What do the Turks love? Ofcourse all the Turks are not that bad.
109. Israel is losing the propaganda world war
MarkQ ,   Finland   (06.11.10)
Sadly the Hamas and its allies are winning the propaganda world war, because the muslims are so loud. Sadly, Civilised people don't go ranting loud their silent thoughts and ideas.
110. To: Chris at No. 99

anton ,   istanbul turkey   (06.11.10)

113. support
Denise Katajainen ,   Helsinki, Finland   (06.11.10)
I believe the opinion of the European media and many politicians does not reflect the opinion of the European people. European media and politicians only try to be political correct, which ever way the wind blows. Many people who don't demonstrate do stand on the side of Israel. I did not have the possibility to participate yesterday but most certainly do support Israel and will continue to do so.
114. Unright
Mimmi ,   England   (06.11.10)

It was great to see that here in Finland about 2000 people marched for Israel, and peacyfully, not against anybody. I hope that Finland can courage others all over the world to do same. And I want to thank you people from other countries for your kind words.

"comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your G-d". How uplifting and encouraging to read these talkbacks and realize there is a secret blessing when we bless the people and the state of Israel. I was out there with my wife singing together "heveinu shalom alechem" with more than 2000 others.
120. All what Israel does
Ephraim ,   Finland   (06.11.10)
All what Israel does is always under the magnifying glass. Turkey, which has treated the Kurds in such a manner, how it has the nerve to criticize Israeli actions
