You need to learn history. The Palestinians rejected a two-state solution, preferring to go to war instead. One day following the declaration of the modern State of Israel, five Arab armies attacked the fledgling state. The Palestinians left because the Arab leadership urged them to make way for the "conquering armies." Except the Arabs lost, didn't they? Six times, actually. Arab aggression has failed you any number of occasions. Do you ever learn from your mistakes?

They make very good hiding places and rocket barriers.

Your idea would be great. But the problem is that these boat-farers refuse to sail to Ashdod. They are adamant in their wish to reach Gaza. The previous boat from Turkey also refused to dock at Ashdod port. That was why it was boarded by IDF.

Maybe you should learn history as well. First off, if the Palestinians accepted the 1947 UN resolution there would be 2-states, no "refugees" and the Palestinian one much larger than modern day Israel. Greed is a curse. Secondly, people left before 1947 on their own accord (check the Haifa records and the British reports) because they did not want to be caught in the crossfire and did not want to be near Arab terrorists who were massacring, or attempting to, others. They were even fighting amongst themselves and the leadership feared the disappearance of entire communities (Haifa Arabs delegation to Cairo - January 1948) because of infighting. In Haifa, for instance, the Haganah expected Arabs to stay and live amongst the people as free and equal citizens...they left by choice (Arab Emergency Committee under the order of the Arab Higher Committee) by a process of fear mongering, being told if they did not leave they would be considered traitors and die (see Sheikh Abd al-Rahman Murad who said to a group of Wadi Nisnas families that if they returned home they would be killed by the Jews who did not spare women or children - all this before the war started). Sir Alexander Cadogan, told the delegates that the fighting in Haifa had been provoked by the continuous attacks by Arabs against Jews a few days before and that reports of massacres and deportations were erroneous. In Haifa for instance, 5,000-15,000 apparently left voluntarily during the fighting while the rest, some 15,000-25,000 souls, were ordered or bullied into leaving against their wishes. Many of them left their homes voluntarily, as Aref el-Aref said, "The Arabs thought they would win in less than the twinkling of an eye and that it would take no more than a day or two from the time the Arab armies crossed the border until all the colonies were conquered and the enemy would throw down his arms and cast himself on their mercy." Even the Arab newspapers say that abandonment by the people voluntarily was the biggest cause for the refugees. As Sarih (March 30, 1948) excoriated Arab villagers near Tel Aviv for "bringing down disgrace on us all by 'abandoning the villages." Or, John Bagot Glubb, the commander of Jordan's Arab Legion, said: "Villages were frequently abandoned even before they were threatened by the progress of war" (London Daily Mail, August 12, 1948). After the Israeli government was established in 1948, Musa Alami said openly: The Arabs of Palestine left their homes, were scattered, and lost everything. But there remained one solid hope: The Arab armies were on the eve of their entry into Palestine to save the country and return things to their normal course, punish the aggressor, and throw oppressive Zionism with its dreams and dangers into the sea. On May 14, 1948, crowds of Arabs stood by the roads leading to the frontiers of Palestine, enthusiastically welcoming the advancing armies. Days and weeks passed, sufficient to accomplish the sacred mission, but the Arab armies did not save the country. They did nothing but let slip from their hands Acre, Sarafand, Lydda, Ramleh, Nazareth, most of the south and the rest of the north. Then hope fled. (Middle East Journal, October 1949). Therefore, do not give me your crap about refugees. Blame yourselves and stop revising historical narrative created by the same people you claim Israel forced out. Arab revisionism is a curse, a problem that has caused countless more.

I like your thinking. Sounds like a good idea. Maybe all the Haredim protesting the jailing of Emmanuel school parents could move their protest to Ashdod and there you would have a ready made crowd to greet the Iranians. With all that Torah learning the Haredim should be able to come up with some appropriate welcome for the flotilla passengers. The Rabbi's surely would have some type of blessing for the occasion, wouldn't they? But then again, maybe some non-Haredim Jew might be there and the next thing you know a scripture fight would break out and the whole welcome wagon thing would blow up in Israel's face. But maybe not. Maybe instead the media coverage would shift from the flotilla and the Gaza/Palestinian conflict, etc. to "JUST WHO ARE ALL THESE MEN IN BLACK." or, lest we not forget, that age old question of "JUST WHO IS A JEW." Next thing you know it's in print a news story about the possibility of these Iranians being Jews from one of the Lost Tribes of Israel.

Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (06.20.10)
We shouldn't say "Of course" or "that's expected" because we should maintain a stance of being hopeful (but the IDF verifying with great caution, not naïvely) they come in peace. So take a hint that we're not naïve and we're aware it may not go as peacefully as we would like. Hint, hint! In which case, the result would be a great PR coup for Israel as the world sees our great welcome preparations (now reinforced by Pres. Peres) are reciprocated by violence, hate, etc. Check mate! PR offense & PR coup. Get your placards prepared and arrange to be ashore in Ashdod Port to greet Iranian "peace" vessels and "peace" women in peace--flowers, peace placards, well wishes, candies, brass bands... and LOTS of TV and video coverage (especially from the Tzah"l to document how peacefully (?!?) they are greeted to escort them to Port Ashdod. Hello Your question is most interesting.Have you considered the question where is MAN right now?

Cynthia ,   USA   (06.20.10)
We know the history and how the refugee problem was created. Lebanon was one of the countries that attacked Israel and caused the problem. To this day, you keep these people in miserable refugee camps and have the nerve to complain about Israel's treatment of the Palestinians. Clean-up your own refugee camps and contribute to solving the refugee problem before you send this pathetic flotilla of desperate housewives. This just highlights your hypocrisy.
73. #56 dressed as a woman

Funny you should say that because it was your current defense minister, Barak, who was dressed as a woman to surprise three PLO leaders in Beirut.
74. #24 Christian?
Madeleine ,   Israel   (06.20.10)
Our navy is boing to board that ship whatever they may be. They will board peacefully and respectfully to check there are no weapons of any sort on board, just as they did with five of the 6-ship flotilla. If our soldiers are attacked (and we all know how many Arab women are happy to be suicide bombers and become martyrs) they will fight back, believe you me. onthe other hand, if the women are truly peaceful then the ship will be directed to Ashdod and their humanitarian aid, if any, transferred to Gaza in the usual way. Obviously you would love to see Israel destroyed. You do not root for peace, nor desire it. Why don't you go and live in an Arab country and see how you'd fare there.
75. The international community and Justice…
Ron B. ,   Lod   (06.20.10)
In a year in which the Iranian regime raped and murdered protesters after a stolen election. In which China and North Korea continue torturing and murdering political dissidents. In which Saudi Arabia and Dubai live off Southeast Asian slave workers. In which Venezuela's Chavez continues shutting down independent media outlets and imprisoning opponents. In which Turkey continues holding thousands of Kurdish political prisoners while occupying Cyprus. In which Russia continues to dismantle democracy and murder journalists. In which Sudan continues perpetuating genocide and the rest of the world nods mournfully but continues on with business as usual. In that year, Israel is the main culprit for such dastardly acts as reportedly assassinating a Hamas terrorist leader in Dubai and intercepting a flotilla providing aid and comfort to Hamas… More at : http://xrl.us/bho7mr

77. #74- I don't want to see the flotilla destroyed.
lara ,   Australia   (06.20.10)
And Palestine is already destroyed. I don't want the flotilla to be threatened even before it leaves. But most of your Ynut friends are already calling for it to be blown up. As for living in an Arab country, I would, except you're in mine and I don't want to live amoung your war. You took my fathers home, and you can keep it. I don't want to fight over what you took away from my family and I don't want you to fight over something you took from people like us.
78. So Right, So Scared...
Jonathan   (06.20.10)
After all these years, and you guys still don't understand how strong the Israelis are, do you ? Initiating the next war, like you keep on doing, is one of the worst mistakes that you are making. Instead of doing business with Israel, and prosper, you guys want to fight for the crumbs, dirt and dust. Look, you are asking for it. Bring more flottilas on. It just clarifies the absurd of the whole 'peace movement'. In the meantime, till you'd change your mind: enjoy your canned baked beans and tap water in your shelter, while you have it.
79. Arabs..
Uzziel   (06.20.10)
Afraid of IDF that´s why they send arab women in their stead. Unfortunate arab women without alternatives, if they don´t comply they would get beaten, the IDF will treat them like they will never be treated at home but they will not be able to seek any form of shelter if they don´t want their "men" take on their children...
80. #68........What a load of BS!

Siniora is pro ISrael/US????? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha WHat a load of BS! He is a pro Syrian/Iranian scumbag that has allowed Hezbollah to occupy Sth Lebanon and infiltrate the Lebanese government! He openly lauds Hezbollahs actions and has never supported Israel liar! Actions speak louder than words!
81. The Ship's Name is Mariam
W. ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (06.20.10)
and has nothing to do with Virgin Mary nor the Chritsians of Lebanon. The whole joy ride was put together by Hizbollah and its affiliates and named it "Mariam" (Arabized name for Mary and not necessarily the Virgin Mary) to play on emotions and embarass the State of Israel. The ship may carry some fallen Christians, who only represent themselves, and not the Christian Lebanese consensus, which I assure you supports the State of Israel and the West, in general, in its struggle against Islamic terrorirsm.

Lebanese Christian ,   Lebanon   (06.20.10)
For sure you are not Christian, because WE Christians don't want the Palestinians to stay in Lebanon. We don't want additional 500 000 Muslims. WE in Lebanese Forces and Kataeb we have fought the Palistinians in Lebanon after they have been sent to Lebanon by Israel.
84. To: No. 83

They weren't sent into Lebanon by Israel. The Palestinians arrived in Lebanon by virtue of having been kicked out of Jordan. Learn history.

I agree with you. Got to be tough to demolish other people's house, to destroy their plantations, to kill their children and to put them in a concentration camp. It got to be tough in order commit an act of piracy, kidnap people, steal their belongings, use their credi cards, shoot 5 times a 19 years old person. It really got to be tough to be able to do all that and to face the world and say: "we are defending ourselves". Only tough israelis can do that!
