Good to hear an intelligent & brave comment from a politician, especially a European one. The borders of Israel and neighbouring states are largely artificial creations of European powers. The idea that two peoples can be squeezed into such a tiny area was always unworkable and ridiculous. Eample: tiny Gaza one of the most crowded places on earth and just next door the vast expanse of the empty Sinai and also Judea and Samaria (the so called West Bank) creating israels narrowest point of about 8 miles. Israel has an iron cast historical claim to all of this land, the mythological 'palestinians' overwhelmingly immigrants from neighbouring arab states none at all. Gaza needs to be offered land in the Sinai to accomodate it's growing population while Jordan is the perfect solution for the palestinians. The palestinians 'claim' is a modern invention and a fig leaf to hide the hostlity to Jews living in an 'arab neighbourhood'.

It is really astonishing how many people here support Wilders. One would think that Jews have an instinctive suspicion when it comes to European nationalism, but the desperate search for allies against Islamic fundamentalism seems to turn many people blind. Wilders himself might be pro-Jewish, but the political tendency he represents is definitively not and he's (maybe even without knowing) paving the road into something really ugly.
