For those of you who are wondering: No, there is no capital punishment in Judaism today - for any sin, including adultery. The Rabbis banned capital punishment just before the destruction of the Holy Temple. Chareidim therefore do NOT advocate capital punishment. Also noteworthy: Even when capital punishment was part of the penal system in ancient Israel (as it is in many liberal democracies today), it was rarely exercised. The Talmud says that if a Beit Din put someone to death more than once in 70 years, it would be considered a "murderous court."

yael ,   israel   (06.28.10)
that the husband was murderded by BOTH the wife and her boyfriend (that is what this pacebook group claims: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=55479797684 ). I'm not saying that the punishment is anywhere near fair or justified. She is sentenced to death for adultrey, not for the killing. But still, it is a point that should be brought up. When I read this, I thought she had been raped by her husband's murderer.

Ahmad Fatemi ,   Sweden   (06.29.10)
Hello dear Ilana! 1-Alleged adultery. Nothing has been proven and there is no reliable evidence. 2- Adultery ? What an adult , mentally healthy woman does in her bedroom with another adult or two adults is her private matter as long (as there is not force of any nature involved.) 3- all Islamic republic's executions are politically motivated, all Islamic regime's courts are fake and illegal. I consider all in Islamic regimes prisons, convicted or not innocent until a fare and impartial court reopens their cases. Those charged with political crimes are exceptions. They should not have been there in the first place and their files should be burnt, them and their families should be compensated and should be freed immediately. 4- Islamic regime's leaders from day one to the day, are guilty of genocide , war crimes and crimes against humanity. Judges are among those accused. They should be indicted and prosecuted in an international tribunal .

Ahmad Fatemi ,   Sweden   (06.29.10)
You are wrong my friend ! What should never ever be brought up is what she did or she did not do. That is totally irrelevant to stoning a human being or even executing the same in a more "humane"way. Execution is state sponsored terrorism. More over the Islamic regimes executions are all politically motivated.

I see that you have already picked your stone! 1- Her lawyer has a blog which I refer you to and he clearly states that his client is innocent. 2- Stoning and other forms of execution are barbaric no matter the crime..Can you handle this?

She was found innocent of being a part of the murder of her husband.
70. Stoning to death of woman
Heather ,   Rocklin, CA   (07.15.10)
What? Are men in the middle east insane? It is unimaginable that a woman would willingly have sex with not one, but two men, after they brutally murder her husband! Think rape, not adultury! The men who committed the act are the ones that should be stoned, not the woman! What's wrong with you people?
