63. Story from an Iranian
Socius (Iranian) ,   Calgary, Canada   (07.04.10)
I have a bit of an interesting story to share with you. Read the full story before commenting. I was born in Iran back in 1984 and moved to Canada in 1991. During the time I lived in Iran, I remember the countless propaganda stories about the Israeli's and the Palestinians. I developed a natural dislike for the Israelis and believed that there was some type of connection between Iran and the surrounding 'muslim' countries because essentially Iran is currently under the control of an Islamic dictatorship. My dislike for the Israelites turned into a dislike for Jewish people in general and I got caught up in the whole Aryan Supremacy/Hitler/WW2 situation. I believed the Jewish people were my enemies, because that's what I'd been told from a very early age, living in Iran. I remember during kids cartoons they'd have videos about martyrdom and palestine and etc...and Israel's overly aggressive stance towards Iran made me believe all of that was true. Later on I was introduced to several Jewish people who have now become very close and very dear friends of mine. We had no problems getting along whatsoever. We agreed and disagreed about the same things. And we had no ill will towards each other. I then became interested in learning about why we were supposed to hate the Israeli's and why the Israeli's hate us. It came as an incredible shock to me that I found no reason for it whatsoever. Looking back on our history from thousands of years ago I kept seeing signs of the Persians having very good relations with the Jewish people. I became incredibly proud of the fact that my forefathers rescued the Jews from Babylonian tyranny and paid for them to rebuild in Jerusalem or even to move back to central Persia to live under Persian Protection. I then learned that in the Jewish holy books, the Persian kings are regarded very highly. And I was ecstatic to find out that Iran has more historic Jewish sites than I think any other country. Looking further along in history, I noticed that even in the 20th century, before the Shah was deposed, Israel and Iran had an incredible relationship through various fields including military technology and development. On the other side of the equation, I saw that Iran has always had a terrible history with the arabs and muslims and that they've repeatedly throughout history attacked us. They have no honour whatsoever, are of no benefit to me as a Persian, and their problems are really their own effing problems. I then asked myself...why on earth should I care about Palestine? During Saddam's on Iran, there were Palestinian fighter jet pilots who were flying for Saddam to attack Iran. All of this money that our regime is giving the arabs is leaving us disadvantaged, and the arabs still are not what you would consider a friend. They hate us...they want us destroyed. So I came to a conclusion. I think both Israel and Iran have bad governments who try to manipulate the public and create hatred of each other in order to maintain tighter control over the populace. Because really...Persians and Jews have always had the greatest of relationships...and we share a very common enemy in the arabs/muslims.. So now, all I can do is hope for regime change in Iran so that we can hopefully soften our stance on Israel...and also hope for the Israeli government to soften its stance towards the Iranian people and keep reminding them that any comments they make are made towards the leadership in Iran, which none of us want anyway. That way, we can move forward and continue the friendly relationship between our peoples that has lasted for thousands of years. :) Thanks for reading. Best of luck to the both of us and our countries. May we soon unite and prosper. :)
64. The Arab/Islamic World countries are ignorant Socius .And>>

And as somone here praised the other Iranian's view points yesterday, yours is food for thought Socius. Usually I avoid long responses,BUT yours was worth reading to its conclusion. Now let us hope the Islamic Republic vanishes to be replaced by a democratic and liberal country once again. As for the war with Saddam: Of course it was due to the Americans who made him their favoured,to the detriment of not only in the ME,but the world at large. I have heard that the present Iranian leadership, and most of the moderate Iranians do not favour Arabs.Although some live in Iran, they are looked upon with disdain[ as far as I'm aware]. In brief, yours as well as the other Iranian fellow are the types Iran needs.Unfortunately you live abroad. My sincere thanks for putting the record STRAIGHT.

66. IObserver and news. On Saudi Arabia's,last days??
KATE ,   ISRAEL   (07.04.10)
We all know that Saudi Arabia is very young. If they are now in the limelight it is thanks to the Brits'[ or should I say no thanks] having discovered the oil they brought the house of Saudi into its prominence. Only for a short period though.Prior to it,they were a desert people, happy to live in their tents and camels. Now they acquired world dominence to a degree. However, the oil producing countries are LEGION.Africa,South America,Iran, even Iraq is replete with the viscus oil. Therefore, the Saudi dominence will gradually disappear. One hopes that once their extreme fundemental dictatorship that provides all the terrorists monaterily will cease and then the West can breath a sigh of relief. As you say: Only, in the future when survival trumps oil, the west WONT b so kind. SA should enjoy their last days: we'll see it's demise in our lifetimes, along with their wretched kind. As my post implies yours is a commendation to mine
67. To Persian, in Iran...Wouldn't it be better if??
Stephen ,   USA   (07.04.10)
Better if you stop calling people names and argue your point correctly? Actually I am getting confused here. There are a couple of diverse Persians posting. Some quite well written without descending to ad-hominems. Theres one who doesn't even know what a "dhimmi" is? Well, that Persian is ignorant of the fact that according to any Jew living among arabs are considered beneath them- ----thus called "dimmies".To that Persian I say:Read and learn. Another thing is: if you are casting asperssions to the Iranians who live aboad: Why is that? What made them flee their country? Obviously it was because the present regime is so resttricted (which includes Jews),is the reason among other dreadful restrictions toward its populations. The Islamic Republic is not what good old Persia used to be. Especially with their thousands of years HISTORY. Great shame . I rest my case

"cherry on the top of this particular cake" is: Isaiah 17! Damascus will be a heap of rubble. Damascus is "the crossroads" of in- and- out traffic for terrorists, and that is why it is prophesied to be completely destroyed. HaShem will avenge ALL enemies of Israel, because His Word, through His prophets, will come to pass exactly as it is written! Israel will stand FOREVER. Shalom, and remember to pray fpr the peace of Jerusalem.
