31. when will Israel learn?!
Ashley ,   London, UK   (07.13.10)
So much arrogance appears on behalf of many respondents in this talk back column. When will they and Israel learn that it's stubborness is harming one nation and one people - Israel and the Jews. Time to move on. Time to see the bigger picture. Time to be the light amongst nations. Time to stop claiming centimetres of land. Time to act in the way that you say you want others to act. Change yourselves and stop blaming others! I am an Israeli living in London. I love Israel with all my heart and it pains me that many in the country continue to refuse to see a way through to the end of this awful conflict!

You have no right to tell Jews what to do in their country. You better return Medina too to Jews.
33. Who cares if Obama knows?
Madeleine ,   Israel   (07.13.10)
Good. Let's hope there will be many more building starts authorized by our government and the Jerusalem planning committee. The only people who conquered these lands were the Jordanians in 1948 and occupied them until we liberated them and reclaimed them in 1967.

Good. Keep going and don't stop
35. Wowie!! how many homes???
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (07.13.10)
What the h-ll?? How many homes?? How could Israel do such a provocative act??? My gosh this is terrible, those damned Israelians want to live in 'homes'?? Terrible!! Let them move back to Poland, or New Jersey or where ever the heck they came from. What a terrible chutzpah to have a desire to live in homes in lands that were taken by their blood from their enemy. This is unspeekable, I feel so bad. I might even stop trying to figure out why Bibi decided to suspend building for a year and get nothing in return except an exasperated people.
36. Who cares what Obama thinks?
BG ,   Beit Shemesh, Israel   (07.13.10)
I don't understand this preoccupation with barak HUSSEIN obama; the midle name says it all. He is no friends of Israel or the Jewish people. His entire policy has been based on Israel making more concessions and PA making more demands. He and his administration treats or PM and Misters with less than respect that any person is entitled, much last a PM. Why doesn't he "demand" that the PA comply with a SIGNED Oslo Accord? What happen to that 'small' detail?
37. to 35 ,...
split ,   usa   (07.13.10)
and what would like to get in return that you're not getting from US taxpaying sucker that just lost his house and still votes for SOB that sold his soul for re-election ? ---------------- and get nothing in return
38. Conquered???, WTH... Why not LIBERATE (END)

they can't afford buying such lavish homes in TA-Yafo. They sleep in WB settlements and work somewhere else in Israel.
40. :: Sarah BS’s silly comments
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (07.13.10)
Not according to international law: Res. 242 (Nov. 22, 1967) - Emphasizes “the inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war”, emphasizes that member states have a commitment to abide by the U.N. Charter, and calls on Israel to withdraw from territories it occupied during the June 1967 war. If that was so then build away, oh hang on you can’t because there is a ‘building freeze’ in place as per Obama’s orders. Really?! Gee how many countries have their embassies in Jerusalem then? How many countries recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city? As for “accepted international law”, what international laws?! I would also point out the obvious facts that military occupation does *not* lead to ‘sovereignty’ and that ‘acquisition of territory by military conquest is *illegal*’. These two principles are enshrined in: a) UN Charter, article 2, para. 4 (1945). b) Declaration on Principles Of International Law concerning Friendly Relations and Co-Operation among States in accordance with The Charter Of The United Nations (1970), Principle 1. c) Hague Regulations IV (1907), articles 43 & 55. d) Geneva Conventions IV (1949), article 47 & 54. So Sarah BS before you assume to lecture us on International Law can you humor us by backing up your claim by referring to ‘actual’ international laws that give Israel these so-called ‘rights’? Make sure that your give *actual references* to particular international laws rather than your usual ultra-vague references which turn out to be nonsense.
