1. Amos Carmel knows the truth
Thomas ,   Dixieland USA   (07.15.10)
It's an uplifting yet - sadly - very rear occurrence that a lucid, pro-Israeli opinion piece is published by the Israeli press. Unfortunately a simple fact has never been recognized - much less openly stated - that Israel was created and built by the Holocaust generation who smelled the stench of death in Europe. Conversely, American Jewry for the most part are descendants of the anti-czarist, pro Communist immigrants and they are more attached to the tenets of Marx-Engels' than to the Jewish nationalism. By corollary they will remain the loyal Janissary guard of Hussein Obama against even Israel's very existence and their hostile stand is openly manifested by many American Jewish leaders unabashedly. It's time to conclude there was never in existence a homogeneous Jewish state, rather a fractured nation like Judah and Israel. American Jewry may or may not be our friends unlike the Christian Zionists who support us without reservation.
2. What Obama thinks
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (07.15.10)
You know, you flatter yourselves too much. President Obama really doesn't care a fig about you beyond the fact that Israel is the primary threat to world peace and focal source of geopoplitcal infection that needs to be eliminated from world geography soonest.
3. Dear Israelis in USA, Obama is sticking .. around till 2016
Chris ,   USA   (07.15.10)
4. Obama
D Rydzewski ,   Rochester US   (07.15.10)
If its any consolation (I'm sure it's not ) he thinks Americans are dumb too.

right-on!
6. Obama thought he could coerce Israel+charm Arabs to peace
Sam ,   Canada   (07.15.10)
Obama and his advisers thought that it wouldn't be particularly difficult to coerce Israel and charm the Arabs into agreeing to Palestinian and Jewish states. They overestimated their abilities. They coerced Israel to some extent and totally failed with the Arabs. The issue is whether Obama will try to ram a Palestinian state down Israel's throats with no expectations from the Arabs, as the Arabs wish.
7. Far Left American Jews Will Sell Out Israel
Dan ,   USA   (07.15.10)
America's far left liberal Jewish community is dumb and will support Obama with money and votes in 2012These Jews don't care about Israel as they think Israel is the problem to world peace. The are socialists and communists and wear the yoke of white guilt around their necks for all to see.
8. obumma will do ANYTHING to ANYBODY to get what he wants.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (07.15.10)
His psychological definition is megalomaniac. He thinks that he can do anything and get away with it. However, his approval rating keeps getting worse and worse as he proves Harvard does graduate incapable people.
9. yes he does !!!
avi   (07.15.10)
but he's been checked upon & he's going to a Maine vacation summer school with GWB to learn some better deception tools ...
10. Obama
Mark ,   USA   (07.15.10)
Most American Jews voted for Obama because they are liberals first and foremost. Israel is a distant thought, at best for the majority of them. If Israel was important to them, their voting would have been different. It is very telling that the majority of Israelis have a very different opinion of Obama. Obama has shown numerous times that he blames Israel for any setbacks with peace talks, and treats Netanyahu like a pariah. Obama is making nice-nice with Netanyahu now because he is trying to repair the damage before the November elections. I pray that the majority of Jews wake up and realize that he is not a friend of the Jewish people, and severly curtail his power from November, until he can be voted out by 2012.
11. Obama lives in a dream.
Hershl ,   USA   (07.15.10)
Obama doesn't think we're dumb. He just can't accept that by hurting Israel he will lose the support of the American people who overwhelmingly support the Jewish homeland. The loss of the Jewish vote will not hurt him as much as the loss of the Evangelical Christian vote many of whom voted for him in 2008. http:/www.jewishdailyreport.wordpress.com
12. someone even count how many time
ghostq   (07.15.10)
he run to the press to charm his way out of things, damage controol mmm I think until now he did it more than 10 times, but not sure it could be more, anyway the point is too many times he had to give excusses for his bad managment of the USA and foriegn countries, no words can cover oil problam the fact that due to Biden behavior rockets r been continuously shoot from gaza still which one even killed a forighn worker from Thailand who work in a green hous, and from the fact that the economy is worse than Nobama started. oil leak in the mexican gulf, the space program that he sold, the shamful terminal dead treatment (from now on none can die with dignity in the USA) cancalling veteran celebrations, Kuba dead end prisoners , the call for Bill clington help. too many errors in such short time.
13. Obama
Ron B. ,   Lod   (07.15.10)
Fatah, which controls the PA, can hold a conference reasserting its refusal to accept Israel’s existence as a Jewish state while glorifying terrorists and rejecting an end of claims in any future peace agreement with Israel and yet the Obama Administration acts as though the key to the problem is to stop Jews moving into eastern Jerusalem and the West Bank. This is how shadow-boxing and process takes on a life of its own. Their might be an other explanation : http://xrl.us/bf29mb
14. Obama on way out?
bob ,   NZ   (07.15.10)
Obama's daily approval rating over the last 18 months can be compared to previous Presidents by using the handy graphing tool here: http://www.gallup.com/poll/124922/Presidential-Approval-Center.aspx Compare his first 18 months in office to those of Ford, Reagan, Clinton, Carter , Truman. and Bush jnr Do the actual facts match the constant crowing about the ''most unpopular president of all time ..?'' Nope!
15. An Open Letter to Mr. Obama
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.15.10)
Sir, As most Israeli Jews, I too was hopeful and eager to listen to your speech at Cairo University, having absolutely nothing to do with your name but everything with your background. What was revealed to me was a US president who was ignorant of or even hostile to the Jewish people and its civilization, and its historic, ethical and legal right on its historic homeland. Mr. president, Israel right's to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people, as you proposed in Cairo, is NOT because of the Jewish Holocaust as you proposed. The Jewish people's uninterrupted presence, despite all odds, in and affinity to Eretz Israel (Land of Israel) for at least 4,000 years and to Jerusalem for more than 3,000 years; the Jewish people's ethical right of national self-determination and independence in its ancestral homeland; and the Jewish people's legal right to set up its national home and independent state, based on the Balfour Declaration, 1917, the San Remo Conference, 1920 and the League of Nations, 1922, all before the UN Resolution of 1947 that called for the establishment of a Jewish state in the Land. In Cairo, in addition, you implicitly made the artificial balance between the Jewish Holocaust and the Gaza situation. Then came your refusal to accept the understandings that had been reached between two allies, the US and Israel and their head of state, Bush and Sharon, and to apply them. Instead, you sent your right-hand woman Ms. Clinton to categorically demand that Jews, because they are Jewish, may not reside in certain villages and towns of their ancestral homeland and refrain from moving into certain neighborhoods of their capital city of the past 3,000 years, Jerusalem. You stood behind Clinton and did so contrary to decisions reached by Israel's Supreme Court. In so doing not only did you and your team promote racism, anti-Jewish racism, but also disregard and disrespect to one of the Jewish people's most important symbols of reinstated Jewish sovereignty in our homeland. That continued: an on-going series of attempts to humiliate our prime minister, also such a symbol of Jewish sovereignty, and Israel's other elected officials and government ministers, i.e. Mr. Yishai. Your attempt to cynically link between the Arab Israeli conflict and the Islamist regime of Iran's drive for nuclear power was an added insult to us all, Jews, within and without our nation-state. And none, Sir, had to do with your name, none! At this stage, I would hope, as part of your Charm Offensive, you would apologize to the Jewish people, but you have not. Indeed, in your meeting with Mr. Netanyahu at the White House you chose to refer to your view of the future solution of the Arab Israeli conflict as a "two-state solution", knowing full well that Netanyahu, whom you hosted, would rightly refer to a solution "two-states for two-peoples". By refusing to use this formula, Sir, you revealed once again in my eyes where you heart and minds are: Refusal, just as our most mortal enemies are, to accept Israel's right to exist as the nation-state of a people, of the Jewish people, based on historic, ethical and legal grounds that it is. Thus, Sir, why should we trust you...??
16. Boooooriiiiiiiing...
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (07.15.10)
To people like you, a person is not deemed anti-Israel only if he/she says that Israel should expel all the Palestinians from the West Bank and 3Aza, annex both and construct buildings there to heart's content because "god" supposedly "said" we have the right to. Everyone else, in your la-la land, is a rabid anti-Semite. Thankfully, not too many people are inhabitants of that world! "However, it appears the president belittles the intelligence of Israel’s citizens. Otherwise it’s hard to explain his claim that some of our suspicion towards him stems from his middle name being Hussein." And yet, on these pages alone you see dozens of nutters every day referring to him as "Hussein Obama," with the clear intention of smearing him as pro-Islam.
17. Obama; to #2
SDB ,   ZY Israel   (07.15.10)
It's precisely because of people who think like you that the state of Israel was created in the first place. And precisely why we will fight tooth and nail to stay right here in our Homeland.
18. Which US admin has been more anti-Israel than Obama's?
Yaniv ,   Israel   (07.15.10)
19. he's right we're dumb

because of 60 years of conditioning
20. Obama's time as President is getting shorter,
Jane ,   Seattle, WA   (07.15.10)
and he knows it. Jews have left him in droves and sensible liberals who also care for proper U.S. international relations are not going to support him. This, coupled with Obama's failures to simply make decisions based on proper information and analysis instead of ideology is an obvious reason why the support of Obama is fast fading away. I personally know many who will not vote for him again and may even cease supporting the Democratic Party all together, and these are life-long Democrats.
21. Israel, as Jehuda keeps claiming, is the
George J. Frumkin ,   West Palm Beach, FL   (07.15.10)
national home of the Jewish people, and it is so on ethical, legal and historic grounds. Mr. Obama, an intelligent person no doubt, refuses to accept this reality and time and again evidently he resorts to the ideologies of people he has come to admire such as Rev. Jeremy Wright and Professor Edwar Said. Jehuda's observation that he even refuses to refer to a future solution in the form of "two-states for two-peoples" is most revealing. This is not the Obama for whom, mistakenly I voted, and it is not the U.S. President for whom I shall vote in the future. Enough is more than enough!
22. Treated as dumb
Johnnie ,   Canada   (07.15.10)
Where did you fimd the guarantee that having a high I.Q, makes one immune to being stupid. Off course stupidity and dunbness go hand in hand.
23. It is Netanyahu who thinks Obama is stupid.
ninjateck ,   Los Angeles, CA, USA   (07.15.10)
Nine months of a 'freeze' that was repeatedly violated and that back doored at least three times as many new projects is tantamount to contempt of a sovereign and steadfast ally of Israel. For those who actually know history, the most anti-Israeli administrations were the Nixon and George H.W. Bush administrations who both threatened to withdraw US loan guarantees for housing and other funds for Israel. Obama has not come nearly close to that, not even as close as the vilification the Carter administration gained for coercing the Begin administration to accept peace with Sadat. Ask yourselves, Israelis, if it is truly blind friendship you require or one that stands by you and points out when you are wrong and offers to help pick up the pieces.

25. No. 14 Bob
NYC Girl   (07.15.10)
It's not just about the numbers. In fact, there's a very highly respected radio personality in New York who was quoted as saying, "Some people use statistics like a drunk uses a lamp post...more for support than illumination." Having said that, what you've failed to factor into the equation is that behind Obama is a media rife with sycophants who will go to any lengths to avoid casting him in a negative light. Yet, even with that unmistakable advantage (which, by the way, is unparalleled in the history of American journalism), Obama's approval ratings are still hurtling down the crapper. But if you want to talk about statistics, here's one for you. Jews voted 78% for Obama in the presidential election. However, the percentage of Jews who say they would vote for Obama again in 2012 has fallen into the mid to low 40's, which not only doesn't bode well for Obama, but could negatively impact the Democratic party as a whole.
26. Obama fooled us, Jews, once. No more!
Sarah ,   Portland, OR U.S.A.   (07.15.10)
27. Only 1 people the world over wanted McCain to win
Smith ,   TA, Israel   (07.15.10)
And that people was the Israeli people. When a poll was conducted of every democratic and semi-democratic society in the world Obama won hands down except in Israel (and Algeria). Right and it has everything to do with the fact that Obama's name is Hussein (Which was mentioned ad nauseam here) and the colour of his skin. Who are you kidding? Racism here is normal and it makes sense a completely racist society would be scared of the big black man with an Arabic sounding name. Israel found itself on the wrong side of popular global sentiment by backing McCain and loony Palin.
28. when it is personal

29. #2 graczek
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (07.15.10)
Even if you surrender Israel to the Muslims, the USA will still remain the "Great Satan" that must be destroyed. And, by the way, Maryland looks like a perfect target for a nuclear tipped Iranian ICBM. Duck and cover.
30.  OBAMA IS NO FRIEND OF US!
OZ   (07.15.10)
in fact, obama is no friend of the american people either. this is a post- american ,radical socialsit who embarked on a camapign to change the usa as we all know it... for the worst. in his world view, israel is subjugated t oarab will, the usa is classless and the wealth(whatever is left of it) is fully spread and the banks are empty.
