61. #50 Out of both sides of your mouth
Eliyahu Konn ,   Yrushalayim   (07.19.10)
Just where does your morality come from? Your exemplary life? All one has to do is read your devil-may-care comments to see you are grinding your axe against the Torah and anyone with balls and then you have the gall to give any advice on morality? What if your son would have slapped you back? He would have had every right to do it. Or maybe you have a gem of wisdom like he should honor his mother? Whoaa, where did honor your father and mother come from? Denial is not a river in Egypt.
62. the answer is at the tip of our nose
chaim ,   eretz israel   (07.19.10)
Anyone who attended basic school and learned a little world history, knows that every king or emperor always had a "wise jew"(Talmid Cacham) as his advisor. Unfourtenatly in this country which is the home of Them; and things could be so different and none of this and many other problems would be happening if only we ; and our governors would listen to what they have to say. Do you know that in the late years people from the U.S. pentagon (goyim!!!) came several times to look for advise from Ha Rab Shaj . Alav Ashalom???
63. #62 Someone nedded to tell the truth.!!!!!
yonatan ,   israel   (07.19.10)
That story of Ha Rab Shaj it's only one example ; there are many others as well. And you should know that what you are saying is written in our Torah.
64. To #61
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (07.20.10)
I wouldn't dream of wasting my time grinding axes and, contrary to your contention, I do admire, as you put it, people with balls. On the other hand, what you assume to be advice on morality are merely personal opinions and ways by which I live, to which I'm entitled, whether you like them or not. As for my son slapping me back, he obviously didn't, since he knew it was a knee-jerk reaction on my part and he's alive and well today. I would, however, like to state that the blind honoring of one's parents is not something I believe. Honor and respect are earned and some parents simply don't deserve more than tolerance, and gratitude for one's life, accidental though the latter may have been. If I cared one way or the other, I'd wonder what nerve I touched to have gotten you so riled up about my tb, but that's an issue for you to deal with. Anything else?
65. Fighting for the moral highground
scarborough1414 ,   Scarborough, Canada   (07.20.10)
The religious will look at this girl's testimony and smirk "our girls don't do that". A few months ago there was a big scandal when a yeshiva principal was caught having sex with two of his male students. The orthodox cried at this shameful revelation and the secular laughed all the way to the coffee shop. They smirked "see, the religious aren't so Simon-pure after all, the lousy hypocrites". We just sit back and snipe at each other, we constantly fight for the moral highground. It's like the left and right fighting in America, always looking for a "gotcha!" moment when one or the other side can smirk in moral superiority. Meanwhile, that poor girl above needs help. Let's stop sniping and start helping.
66. TO #65 : nobody is perfect
David ,   mexico city   (07.20.10)
You are right that among religious there are also problems ...... but!!! 1)chek the difference in percentages. 2)after cheking think ; if that case you mentioned happened among the religious ; just imagine what kind and how many cases unfourtunately are happening among the ones who dont keep mitzvot. 3) do not judge our religion by the relgious people, or by what you hear from others ; study and learn it yourself and then decide what you want for the future of you and your family. 4) if you really want to help this girl and others as well the solution is like #62 mentioned in the tip of our nose.
67. Statutory Rape?
Gideon ,   USA   (07.24.10)
If the age difference between the boy and the girl is less than three years, the boy will not be charged, in most cases. How does a 14-year old boy gets into a club? I guess it's the same way kids are allowed to buy Vodka in Israel. Finally, to the writer, the name דנה in Hebrew is Donna, not Dana, which is pronounced day-na.
68. educatio
Israel Edler ,   Rio de Janeiro   (01.07.11)
This is what happens when jewish children are educated without a solid Tora basis. There are no limits or even if limits are taught by parents ,children dont feel that they have to behave according to it.The only solution is to raise children according to Tora and its commandments.
69. Religious vs. Non-Religious Morals
Noami ,   Tel Aviv   (11.17.13)
Admittedly this was thirty years ago, but the only teenager I ever knew who got pregnant out of wedlock was a religious girl from a religious kibbutz. She married the father and today is a happily married mother of four. There are no rules, only an awful lot of narrow minded self-righteous people out there, who don't ever try to see the whole picture. I mean, a whole load of religious teenagers are having sex at 18 aren't they, if not before? Because they marry so young, which is contraversial in itself.
