61. American Jews wake-up
Joseph ,   Israel   (08.25.10)
American Jews, read #1 and #16. Their ravings are fast becoming acceptable and will soon be mainstream. For hundreds of years you worked hard and your contribution helped make America the greatest country on earth. Now you are forbidden to have an opinion (if it is not anti-Israel) and are blamed for America's ills (Americans distrust Muslims because of Jews, not 9/11 or Fort Hood). History is repeating itself. Leave now and come home, while you still can.
62. #56 Sagi, For you the word "were" is expired
Salma ,   Palestine   (08.25.10)
For us, we are still paying the price for "were" to this day ! Sagi, Do you mean that the Palestinians had to wait until the declaration of the state to dismantle & ban "terrorism" ?!! Strange logic, isn't it ?!
63. to #52 slama the golden dome isn't abraham plot
ghostq   (08.25.10)
you mixed it up with hebron, the golden dome is where the temple the jewish king david before that it was Jevos area, according to jewish customs it's forbidden to buried anyone around the temple, the dead were buried else were. and since jews r abram legit heirs they got the full right to do anything in their own home. It doesn't justify murder of only one nut jew, only one compare to hundreds of Islamic radicals who murderd innocent people. what was the excuss killing a grandfather who stood in a bus stop, or people in the market or hotels hor night clubs?
64. I voted for Obama, as I have voted for several Democratic
Jane ,   Portland, ME   (08.25.10)
candidates for the Presidency. I shall not do so again, not blindly at least. Both Obama and the Democratic Party that stood behind him disappointed me, a several generational Democrat. Together with my husband and young daughter we shall never again fall in an Obama-like trap of voting for a Muslim president, by heart at least, to govern the United States of America that is so dear to us.
65. #16 Lydia - Wrong
Solomon ,   Bklyn   (08.25.10)
Most Jews and Jewish organizations support the Muslims right to build the mosque. It may be inappropriate, but this is the price of real freedom. You are repeating the mantra "blame it on the Jews" without caring about the facts.
66. #1, really? What studies?
Danny   (08.25.10)
How many Jew fanatics have carried out attacks on US civilians going about their business? Moshe Dann would know religious freedom because he lives in a country that has it.
67. one note
salma ,   jerusalem   (08.25.10)
half ofthe american do not know that judism is the first religion and cristinity is 1000 years later and islame is thelast religion .. al moslemes know that fact becouse it is writen in kuran . here in this page they said about judism and islam as if it is in the same time and as if it is a political aspect not religouse
68. Even by Dann's low standards....!!!
John ,   Jerusalem   (08.25.10)
PARA ONE: "President Obama's defense of the right of Muslims to build a mosque and Islamic center in New York City turned the issue into one of religious freedom. That was wrong." AND THREE PARAS LATER: "Obama could have explained that American law and values do not support discrimination, certainly not against Muslims; our history proves that." Come on Moshe, if you can't avoid contradicting yourself in an article of just a few hundred words, why on earth should anyone take you seriously?
69. I too, Jane, #54, didn't realize I voted for a Muslim
Jerry J. Richards ,   Rockville, Maryland   (08.25.10)
to the White House. And I too, will not do it again, although I am a registered Democrat. I only hope the Democratic Party will learn its lesson and not nominate a Muslim again, be it Obama or otherwise, to be its candidate. We still still live in a Judeo-Christian society and most of us have no intention of changing it, either through the use of a 9/11 type attacks at us or through the building of Ground Zero Mosques. And, by the way, I am not Jewish.
70. Mr Dann - President Odumba is not the 1st
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.25.10)
'He is probably the first American president to malign his own country. ' There was Jimmy the Cracker Carter. He maligned the US to the entire world many times over while he was the president and afterward as well.
71. idf maniac
xc ,   cN   (08.25.10)
the only religious freedom allowed in the world is yours; even though you make up 0.002 percent; good luck
72. #71 here we do not have religious freedom for Jews
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (08.25.10)
or any other non-Muslim faith. The same is true in all the 57 members of the Organization of Islamic Countries. For Example: Try bringing a Bible when you visit Qatar, F. Arabia, Yemen, Iran and you will soon find out how tolerant are Muslims of you, if you are not already one of us.
73. #57 Herr Meier
Rachel   (08.25.10)
Liebling, you need to keep up with US news a little better. As a matter of fact, many of the latest terror attacks and attempted terror attacks have been perpetrated by bona-fide Americans - not Saudis. For example, there have been two cases of murder by Muslims of fellow soldiers in US military bases. Then there was Times Square failed massacre. He was either a resident or a citizen, in any case someone who had adopted the US as his home. And then there are numerous foiled plots by nationalized citizens or native born Americans of the Muslim persuation. For a very, very long list of Americans implicated in terror within the USA go to The Religion of Peace website - American Attacks section. There have been 3,315 killed by Muslims in America in 68 terror attacks. In the meantime, in spite of years of anti-Semitism, Jews continue to contribute to America, discovering new cures for diseases, inventing new technology for medicine, communications and other scientific ends, to write scholarly works and cool literature, and to make great music. Unless you see the difference, honey, you are a hopeless case of anti-Semitism.
74. Did you not know?
The Whtie Shadow   (08.25.10)
Obama is on his own side and no other.
75. Future of Obama:
Rick ,   NYC   (08.25.10)
8 years prez of US, then prez for life in Kenya!
76. #38 Salma. My apology for fostering "Palestinian" delusions.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.25.10)
On my own behalf, I apologize to those Arabs, inside Israel, who call themselves "Palestinians". I apologize for my part in fostering the delusion, among these Arabs, that they will somehow create another "Palestine" Arab state in the heart of Israel. It will never happen. It would have been far more humane for Israel to admit such a state will never exist than to keep their false hopes alive. Israel can apologize most effectively by paying "Palestinians" fair compensation to leave our land forever.
77. To: No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.25.10)
What are you babbling about? Do you know what has aroused hate for Moslems among the non-Moslem community in the United States? Well, let's see. 1. Those airplane hijackings in the 1970s (not the ones to Cuba); the ones perpetrated by Islamic terrorists. 2. The bombing of the United States Embassy and Marine Barracks in Beirut. 3. The invasion of the United States Embassy in Tehran and the taking of hostages. 4. The taking of hostages in Lebanon and the vile torture and execution of of the CIA head of station in Beirut. 5. The bombing of the United States Embassy in Kinshasa. 6. The bombing of the United States Embassy in Nairobi. 7. The bombing of the USS COLE. 8. September 11. See the common thread? All those despicable acts were committed by Moslems. Yep. All of them. Politicians and lobbyists in the United States had absolutely nothing to do with it. Grow a brain.
78. Really Salma #67: What about the
Robert Haymond ,   Canada/Israel   (08.26.10)
Bahai's who came after the Prophet? And in the USA a new, now worldwide religion, was established called the "Church of the Latter Day Saints" (Mormons)? Don't be so provincial. There are many religions and spiritual paths.
79. A lawyerly criticism, John #68, one
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (08.26.10)
which may work in a courtroom in the heat, fire and drama when cross examining witnesses but not here on Ynet. You've taken two of Moshe Dann's passages without even attempting to cite neither the contex nor the theme. Of course, Moshe Dann was saying that in the USA, religious freedom is a given but it would be sagacious in this case as to how one should make use of it (freedom). This is clearly understood and your ridiculous critique does not subvert what the professor was trying to get across.
80. ***Sarah*** You said it all...
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (08.26.10)
I just want to add all the extreme violence commited by Muslim terrorists worldwide, like the chopping off of heads...and the constant explosions set off by Muslim fanatics just everywhere, from Europe to Asia... If there is a bang...guess who made it...??? NOT THE ESKIMOS...
81. Hussien is siding with the dark forces
Brod ,   USA   (08.26.10)
Hussien is not siding with the American people especially to the thousands of Americans who lost members of their families on the 9/11 attack at Ground Zero by Islamist-Jihadists. He is siding with the Islamist-Jihadists in crusading the building of a Mega Mosque at Ground Zero to commemorate the attack on America by islamist-Jihadists. On this alone Congress has the basis to impeach him! Unfortunately, there are others like Bloomberg and the Leftists that are siding with the Islamist-Jihadists in setting up this Mega Mosque at Ground Zero. If they only know what Islam stands for, they would stop promoting the building of a Mega Mosque at such a sensitive site. Those smart Democrats who do not share their idiocy, should advise Bloomberg and his fellow Leftists to shut their mouths and stop promoting this Mosque. If they were smart, they should listen to the American people-70% of them oppose the building of the Mega Mosque at Ground Zero. And they should listen to the experts on Islam like Robert Spencer, Brigitte Gabriel, Walid Shoebat, etc.
82. #79 - if he wants to be taken seriously...
John ,   Jerusalem   (08.26.10)
...then he should marshall his arguments more cogently. I have no particular interest in the mosque in Manhattan. But I can spot sloppy thinking. Your formulation: they have a right but it's not necessarily the right thing to do (analogous, interestingly, to the response to those Muslims who wanted the prophets of the cartoon to be banned) is a perfectly sensible one. I think I probably agree. But Dann doesn't make it. He begins by saying that Obama was wrong to make this an issue of religious freedom and later says that Obama should have talked more about the lack of religious discrimination in the US. It's woolly and flabby, he's an op-ed writer, they put up talk-backs - I've simply pointed out that he's not qualified for the job. Quite happy for you to take it on instead. You seem more sensible.
83. Obama On Side Of US Constitution
World Citizen ,   the world   (08.26.10)
which he has sworn to uphold. That includes the right to indulge in whatever religion you choose to practice. The right wing Jewish and Christian zionists only care about their rights to be religious bigots and racists. The same goes for the pathetic author of this article and the general Israeli population considering the posts on this thread.
84. Pres. Obama
Simcha ,   So.Cal.USA   (08.26.10)
Only a Muslim can have the name Hussein, therefore he is either an appostate or a liar to the people regarding his faith. If he is an appostate he is open to execution for dis-regarding Islamic law but by Islamic law it is ok to say you are a christian as long as it furthers the Islamic cause. So what I see is a grand case of C.Y.A. as far as B.H.O.
85. #1 You chose your name well! (END)
Simcha ,   So.Cal.USA   (08.27.10)
