1. What was seen
Mo ,   US   (09.23.10)
Was a number of edits from the IDF forces footage. The IDF has refused to release the full video. Why? The IDF removed all video evidence from the passengers. Why?
2. :: This rhetoric is getting sooo old
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (09.23.10)
So old that nobody believes it anymore.
3. Which international laws?
Andrew Brehm   (09.23.10)
Did the report happen to mention the "laws" Israel allegedly violated? That detail is usually absent.
4. Re #1
Andrew Brehm   (09.23.10)
Non sequitur. We saw the IDF soldiers entering the ship and being attacked. There is no possible edit that could fake the scene. Plus the terrorists of the ship have confirmed that it happened so. The IDF probably removed the video evidence from the passengers to give you conspiracy theorists something to think about.
5. Another Jewish self inflicted disaster
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (09.24.10)
6. #1 - Tell your Turkish friends to stop murdering Kurds
Mike ,   Oxford UK   (09.24.10)
The UNHCR doesn't care about them... 1000s killed for speaking their own language and wanting their own country
7. #1 Facts are facts, typical that when you dont like them....
(09.24.10)
YOU MAKE RUBBISH UP. Even the BBC made a program that was supported the Israeli version of events - the only version that has any evidence!
8. #1
Dina   (09.24.10)
If you had followed even some of the videos taken by the passengers on you tube and other such sites , the evidence is still the same - even stronger. The unedited and edited videos shown by the IDF still show the truth footage or not. These are still soldiers going down a rope - un armed (or at least none pointing at anyone) straight into a waiting mob of agressors with metal bars and knives.
9. Just another PR failure
Why bother?   (09.24.10)
10. Israel has a persecution complex
Leon ,   Ottawa, Canada   (09.24.10)
Why didn't they show the IDF 'defending' themselves by shooting activists in the head. Oh, wait, I'm just being antisemitic . Criticism of Israel = antisemitism.
11. evidence
Rob ,   Vancouver, Canada   (09.24.10)
The fact of the matter is, the ship was intercepted on international waters. Just as Israel has the right to defend itself from enemies who violate its territorial borders, the flotilla passengers had ABSOLUTE LEGAL RIGHT to repel any and all IDF commandos, violently with deadly force if needed. And yet, the only ones who died were the flotilla activists, two shot while literally face down on the floor from close range, execution style. We then have the so-called "warning shots" which involved raking the deck of the boats with live ammo, confiscation of recording equipment, cash, and credit cards, some of which ended up being personally used or sold by IDF soldiers. Also, #6, the Turkish oppression of the Kurds does not in anyway excuse the murder of Palestinians in Gaza by the IDF, settlers, etc.
12. Israeli defense
rubyH ,   SA   (09.24.10)
Damned if you do - damned if you don't
13. #1, exactly what do you think it would show?
Danny   (09.24.10)
The soldiers come down the rope and before there are any shots, before there is any violence the people on the ship attack the soldiers. Pretty open and shut. PS they didn't remove all the video evidence, plenty has come up and every single one confirms and reconfirms the Israeli version.
14. #2, I believe it is aimed at people with brains
Danny   (09.24.10)
not you
15. UN Human Rights Commission is a Joke
Christy ,   Boston, US   (09.24.10)
Seems like something out of the '1984' novel. UN Human Right Commission = Newspeak for a bunch of dictatorial thugs who only acknowledge rights for themselves, the people they rule over have no rights at all. They have no business daring to judge anyone until they clean up their own houses first.
16. And the whole world backs the UN findings
Johan Odin ,   Oslo, Norway   (09.24.10)
Nobody expected Israel to agree with the findings; the guilty always proclaim their innocence even when overwhelming evidence proves their guilt, but they remain guilty none the less.
17. Re::2 :: This rhetoric is getting sooo old
Galut ,   Selah   (09.24.10)
That is because you haven't taken your bias blindfold off yet matty.... any reasonable person would conclude from watching that video that the demostraters were laying in wait to do physical harm to the israeli soldiers.... no amount of editing can hide the fact that those iron pipes and bats were swinging pretty vigoriously as the soldiers were desending...
18. rewritten rules of war...
Y.net web reader ,   Niles.IL.USA   (09.24.10)
there is no justification for kassam rockets and let us remember and pray for Gilad Shalit
19. I read all 56 pages
Alistair ,   Scotland   (09.24.10)
The report is pretty comperhensive. There is no doubt that this report is legit .Firstly has Netanyahu read the report? and what part of the report is biased and distorted. The reports has stated a multitude of crimes in great detail and went to great length to explain why these conclusions were made .The report explains why israeli video evidence is in admissable. Read the report !
20. #8 Dina: denial
gotcha! ,   yella submarine   (09.24.10)
Mo's writing is not unusual at all, speaking from my point of view. Had lengthy discussions with people about details, too, details which do not matter like the recorded radio messages. Ignoring, like you wrote, the soldiers getting out of the helicopter one after the other, being beaten up and thrown off deck subsequently. A real fest of violence! I particularly found strange, that people with which i discussed, refused to call a paint ball marker what it is, and it's not that one cannot see the marker in action in the clips or that the person in question never served in some army - or never played paintball. Wouldn't fit in the "IDF kills ruthless" position, but then we're getting to how we learn, that means they say our brain produces certain patterns to cope with reality. In case a thing does not fit into those patterns, the pattern is adapted, not reality. Guess that's what they call scales falling from one's eyes. May the Allmighty open their eyes.
21. #1 hatred and racism is clouding your mind
Truth from the ,   Middle East   (09.24.10)
1. First, the passengers' videos were removed because they actually serve as more proof of premeditated armed ambushes and lynch plans, including the faces of those involved. They were removed before these "passengers" have a chance to destroy their own crimes evidence. But they were made public. 2. So what if the IDF videos are edited? Nobody has the patience to watch 4 hours of footage, definitely not fools like yourself who can't be bothered with facts which do not fit their warped reality. As a matter of fact, it has been exposed many times how Muslim and anarchist terrorists and their collaborators, nit to mention muslim dictatorships, distort, edit, Photoshop and modify evidence and facts in pictures and video footage. I am not surprised that you raise suspicion about this: liars are the most suspicious people in the world, be use they assume that everybody is a kier, just like themselves. Or maybe you are just a petty racist activist, trying to seed doubt? Well, so that you know: it didn't work!
22. Serves us right.
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (09.24.10)
It was obvious what the outcome of the "investigation" would be before anyone even called for one. We know what the U.N. is all about so instead of getting all incensed, we should just ignore this report and - if possible - the U.N. itself.
23. #1 I wonder!
Daniel ,   Israel   (09.24.10)
How can some one forget what he saw just recently! If Mo can forget the incidence that took place just 6 months earlier; and Ahamadinijad forgot the disaster that happened just a few years earlier! That is just a medical disorder! Why should any one blame such a short memory person for denial of Holocaust? He was not even born that time! And why should he trust history books? When he writes history (or whatever he thinks right) right from birth of the planet; as if he was there since then!
24. Some thoughts.
Linda ,   Poltava, Ukraine   (09.24.10)
1) If I was a soldier seeing my colleague hit with a metal bar or knife, bleeding and dragged away, there is no space for doubt: with what "style" I am going to cope with the attackers. The "execution style" is very humane compared to what must have been applied to those "freedom fighters". They were lucky to travel to the 72 virgins without unnecessary delays. 2) No IDF officer would dare to intercept in international waters a ship delivering fresh fish to penguins in Antarctica (for example). Trying to enter a zone of on-going military conflict is another story: be prepared to all sorts of consequences. Read HAMAS charter first, travel there second (if you wish to commit suicide). Hey, the UN phony "commission" members, anything unclear ?
25. #15 "Odin", you are far from being "the whole world" :)
(09.24.10)
I fail to see which "overwhelming evidence" you are talking about, except for libelous hearsay and obviously biased "witnesses", most of them from among those who actually attacked the soldiers who were trying to enforce a legal blockade. If in doubt, read the International Maritime Law instead of the Quran. You're making yourself the laughing stock of the readers. But I agree with you in whole when we apply your theory to the Muslim world: "... the guilty always proclaim their innocence even when overwhelming evidence proves their guilt, but they remain guilty none the less." Well said!
26. commando tossed onto a deck 30 feet below, head first?
observer   (09.24.10)
and still no soldiers' casualty, G-d's miracles!
27. Quite right, Linda at #24
Cameron ,   USA   (09.24.10)
That collection of Turkish nutters earned every round. They set out looking for drama & confrontation, and found it in full measure.
28. #11 So basically why are you whining?
(09.24.10)
You accept that Israel has the right to intercept enemy ships trying to break a legal blockade. You also claim that the members of the enemy ship had the right to defend themselves even with deadly force. That's fair too, so why are you whining when IDF also uses deadly force to defend itself? What did you expect? Should the IDF soldiers have waited to be lynched without any reaction? You must be clinically hopping mad with racism and hatred (or both) to build such a warped logic. Or is the use of deadly force limited to Islamo-Leftists only? YOU BLOODY WISH! Jews had enough of your kind, so expect the worse if you mess with them!
29. #10 Exactly! And add to that "racist fool" to boot.
(09.24.10)
30. Blah blah blah
Ze'ev ,   Lod   (09.24.10)
Any accident which includes violence can be described to show both sides in a terrible light. Since we know well the political stance of UN "human rights" (hehe) body we should just ignore their rantings.
