31. Bush setup Roadmap with freeze apart of it, NOT Obama
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (09.26.10)
Obama is just tried to hard get a peace deal and maybe that is the main problem, Israel wants peace and to keep the land as well. Why should setters give up Gov. subsidized cost of living and free land without a major fight?
32. Hypocrate
Moshe ,   Jerusalem   (09.26.10)
Ms. Horing's hypocracy overwhelms her anti-Obama passion. "Born and raised in Israel but lives in Kansas City???? Come on. Tell us what it is about Israel that you can only love it long distance??
33. 6 Salma no Jewish women will ever wear a hijab!
(09.26.10)
34. Obama is the higest ranking Muslim mole in America
Mi6   (09.26.10)
35. #31: And Texas once belonged to Mexico
Steve   (09.26.10)
Bush set up the Bush-Saudi road map for Israel's destruction. That is why I did not vote to re-elect Bush in 2004. Bush sold out; he caved under Saudi pressure. Even after the 9/11 Saudi jihad on New York and Washington, Bush continued to cave to Saudi demands. That does not make it right what Obama - America's first Muslim-born president - is trying to force on Israel. It is nothing short of racist to demand that Jews (because we are Jews) no be allowed to build homes or apartments in their / our land. Obama is a racist like his mentor, Jeremiah Wright. Peace for peace is fine. Why should we give up our precious land in exchange for promises of peace from those who are dedicated to our destruction? Who gives up hard-won land through bloody wars of self-defense. Would you like to live under Mexican government rule? Would you support ceding Texas back to Mexico if the Mexicans would promise, no more cross-border illegal immigration? Would you?
36. current presidency pro Islamic?
David Bishop ,   Salem USA   (09.26.10)
If what Y net articles imply, this means that Hillary Clinton has been grooming the Jewish vote in New York and as secy of state; also, her daughter married into a good Jewish family. Does this mean she will contest Obama for the Democratic choice for President of the USA? Bill Clinton knows his way around the political landscape of Washington. I dont see any reason why she should not take the Jewish vote away from Obama and become our next President.
37. I'm voting Republican for the first time in my life
Adam   (09.26.10)
In 2008 I took the word of Dershowitz and others and voted for Obama. In fact, I voted all for Democrats. No more. It will be the opposite of 2008-all Republicans. I have become extremely disgusted with the Left and the Democratic party.
38. obama wants the second term
Omid ,   Tehran , Iran   (09.26.10)
i think obama is trying to achieve a peace agreement as a political gain for his second term... i wish mcCain had been elected, it was better both for we Iranian (we would have a great supporter for our movements toward democracy ) & Israel As an Iranian, i hope to see Israel & Palestine live in peace. if that happens, many of problems erupting by iran's government will be finished. Hope to see more Republicans in power :)
39. Example of Jewish control of America
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (09.26.10)
..."In 2008...US Jews...were responsible for a third of total financial donations to the Democratic Party."
40. The Jews were not alone.
Brad ,   USA   (09.26.10)
A lot of non-Jewish Americans ignored what obama said, and voted for skin tone. If obama was all white, instead of half white, he would have gotten about 2% of the vote in the democrat primaries, and that would've been it. He said the U.S. Constitution was flawed. He said he would have his unborn grandchild murdered. He spoke of his "muslim faith", until George Stephenopolous bailed him out, by reminding him that he was supposed to say he was a Christian. No matter. Most voters only cared about being "part of history", and voting for the "first black president". Puke. So, they put a foreign fool in the White House.
41. not voting for ANY? democrat
moron ,   galut   (09.26.10)
this is extreme--any democrat above the office of dog catcher she means--also one or two should be kept as reminders of bad record--people have already forgotten how to recognize bolsheviks who are disguised as 'progressives'
42. yes it's true, he & we really are that stupid
David P. ,   Capitola, CA   (09.26.10)
I don't understand it either, if it walks and talks like a duck. But, for many that isn't reason enough...?
43. to#32 Classic Israeli rhetoric
fred ,   bozeman usa   (09.26.10)
This kind of taking point often used by Israelis is utter nonsense which should embarrass our people. One does not become more ignorant or more intelligent based upon where they live or whether they were in the army .How does the commenter know the perhaps very personal , compelling reasons Ms. Horing lives in Kansas City? Her message is 100% correct
44. Obama shines a good light on Israel
Mike Kaplan ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (09.26.10)
I made Aliyah last month, I'm a life-long Democrat, I'm very pro-Israel and I'm a very strong Obama supporter. This op ed is naive and shows a lack of understanding of how much the right-wing direction that Israel has taken the past few years has damaged Israel's image everywhere in the world. WAKE UP!!! Obama is helping Israel by shining a light and stating things that are obvious to most people in the world. Israel can't continue to expand and expect to be taken seriously as a peace partner.
45. I voted for Obama
Ralph ,   Boston   (09.26.10)
I was utterly deceived. Now I will not vote Obama. Not even Hilary. See what happens to congress elections. They are the dreaam candidates of Arabs. Let them suffer.
46. I agree Am. Jews should not...
Noam and Mattie   (09.26.10)
vote Democrat. They should vote independent and this is why. When we had Bush in office who was touted to be the "BEST FRIEND OF ISRAEL," he had 8 chances to sign the embassy act. ( a campaign promise he failed to uphold my friends) Make no mistake, Israel is the ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD without an embassy in our capital! Why you ask? Because not even supposed best friends look upon our beloved Jerusalem as the UNDIVIDED CAPITAL of Israel. Ha ha ha, therein lies the rub. Period! I would like to subtly remind you that each time Bush failed to sign the embassy act he signed the lease on the PLO mission in NY. Furthermore, our supposed best friend thought so little of 'our' beloved Jerusalem (or better said, his best friends, beloved Jerusalem)he did not even send a low level representative of his administration to the ceremonies of the Anniversary of the Reunification of Jerusalem!! Both instances barely got a 'condemnation' from fellow republicans. Bush too spoke of the daily humiliation of the poor Palestinians and made sure in every public forum to remind (admonish/warn) Israel that the Palestinian state would be viable, contiguous and not resemble cantons or to quote our best friend "swiss cheese." Please stop being so haughty in thinking only the democrats betray Jews. This is why we lose our way so often. Thousands of American Jews (AND FAST GROWING) are switching to independent from Democrat and Republican. Better still, to protest our being betrayed by 'BOTH SIDES,' we are NOT VOTING no matter how long it takes for our message to be delivered. thank you and wish us luck.
47. #44
Steve   (09.26.10)
Mike, why did you make Aliyah? How can you claim to be pro-Israel, and be a "very strong Obama supporter," when Obama is nothing of the kind? What does a shinny Jewish image in the world mean if it also means Israel's destruction? Do you really think Israel has a peace partner? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiNXJz95Qxs
48. I will not vote for a single democrat in the state of NY
USA   (09.26.10)
That does not mean I like republicans all that much better, but our choices are limited here in the USA.
49. If America wants good relations with muslims fine.
USA   (09.26.10)
But it is wrong to do this at the expense of Israel and at the expense of compromising Israel's security and making it capitulate to the demands of their enemies. I would love an American president who would have a nutral stand and a hands off approach to the middle east and would focus on this country instead
50. TO ALL JEWS IN USA...
devorah   (09.26.10)
you better make ALIYAH NOW!! you do not know what Hussein Obama is cooking for you all!
51. Delusional
Barka   (09.26.10)
So you think there couldn't be any other reason why Jewish support for Obama has declined but his 'tough' stand on Israel? How do you know Israel is the most important issue for all American Jews? It's the economy, stupid.
52. Obama wanted the job...
Heather Czerniak ,   Mississauga, ON, CA   (09.26.10)
...he can take the heat or he can resign. Just because he's president of the United States of America doesn't mean Israel has to bend to make his job easier. Since when is building housing for Jews in Israel considered a stumbling block to peace? Why isn't Iran's quest for nuclear bombs not held in the same regard?
53. 38 see # 46 and think again!
Lior ,   Israel   (09.26.10)
54. #39 please provide..
Mendel ,   Jerusalem   (09.26.10)
links to your statement. Then read comment number 46 and see where voting republican gets you. I so agree with number 46. When my conservative pals cry about Jerusalem I will send the link to this story and the comment from 46. Jews get duped from both sides. I further agree with 46 in that you should hold your votes. Show them who means business and what duping Jews will get a politician. Liars all.
55. Interesting talkbacks...
Youssef ,   Beirut   (09.26.10)
So, AMERICAN jews vote according to the well being of Israel, not America? I thought you (or your fathers) all had to pledge allegiance when you got the US citizenship, and yet NOT ONE single talkback even mentioned a vote for a better AMERICAN future. How come?
56. NR 55.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (09.26.10)
and yet NOT ONE single talkback even mentioned a vote for a better AMERICAN future. How come? Youssef , Beirut (09.26.10) THERE IS NO BETTER AMERICAN FUTURE, THE US IS GOING DOWN AND FACE HELL . Arn.
57. Noam and Mattie #46
Steve   (09.26.10)
What you say about Bush and the Republicans is true so far as I can tell. But by not voting, it seems to me, you are helping Obama and his supporters. By not voting, you will only help him strengthen his hold on power. You will help Obama pursue his dangerous agenda, both domestic and foreign. Is that what you would prefer to do in order to send a harsh message to a weak GOP? As evil and bad as Bush was - with Republican complicity - Obama is much worse, is he not? Why should we help him?
58. Yousef, Beirut #55
Steve   (09.26.10)
It's because we believe in God's promises to His people and the nations in our Bible; Gen 12:3: "I will bless those who bless you and the one who curses you, I will curse." Americans - both Jews and non-Jews; both Christians and non-Christians - who support Israel and the land of Israel are voting for a better American future. No?
59. NR 58.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (09.26.10)
THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO VOTE FOR A BETTER FUTURE FOR THE US - IT IS ON YOUR KNEES, AND VOTE TO GOD FOR A REPENTENCE, IN PRAYER AND FASTING. Arn.
60. Obama managed to promote his anti-Jewish racism from the UN
Joel Sherman ,   Fairfax, VA USA   (09.26.10)
Standing there at the UN podium, Mr. Obama, without any shame, called upon Jews, only because they are Jewish, to limit their living space on earth. This is racism, Mr. President! This is the kind of racism that we in America ended more than half a century ago. Now, you, an African-American, call for the same type of racism your people suffered in America, but you want Jews to experience as well, and where, in their own historic homeland. Shame on you, the President I voted for, but never again!
