5. THE RAPING RABBI SHOULD BE CASTRATED
Sheik Rattle & Roll ,   USA   (10.01.10)
They should throw that Rabbi in prison for life. How dare you assault a women and an ill women and then offer her $5,400.00 as hush money. The sum should be no less than $1,000,000 dollars. I believe you would have to be mentally ill to accept such a low sum of money on a capital crime such as RAPE.

7. What kind of Judaism is the Rabbi practicing?
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (10.01.10)
The Torah doesn't condone this kind of sick behavior. But as we can see, there is no justice in Israel.
8. Readers will assume that this womans'

allegations are true due to the way the article is written. Many false allegations take place, however, and yet ruin the accused's life. The matter should have gone to the attorney general's office and been investigated immediately. The College says it informed them. There should be written substantiation of this if, in fact, it's true. Up until the writing of this post, Readers have assumed that the allegations are true. In a study by an American sociologist (now retired) of allegations from a large group of midwestern colleges, about one-half the women who made accusations of serious sexual abuse including rape were found to be false, either by the women later retracting their allegations or by further investigation. In custody&access suits, women commonly employ their abilities to masquerade as the hurt party by accusations of sexual abuse of the children on the part of the (male) partner or by accusations of physical assaults against themselves. Even if the charges are later dropped or the allegations are never proven true, the time element in which the father does not have contact with his children works against him in terms of how the decision of custody and access is eventually rendered. As a result, I stick objectively by the book with regard to such accusations until proven.

11. Sounds like a case for a No Lie MRI lie detector test
Rivkah   (10.02.10)
It takes two witnesses to bring an accusation against an elder in the Torah. But for rape, the truth must be established to punish the rapist and to protect his reputation if he is innocent. Psychotic women tell lies, so both should have a No Lie MRI lie detector test which is more accurate than a polygraph. The damage done to the woman if she was raped is enormous. A teacher I knew who has passed away named Patsy Willis of California was raped in college by a psychologist she went to for therapy and she conceived. Sadly, she had the fetus aborted to spare her family disgrace, unwilling to go through a grueling court process of trying to get the psychologist prosecuted when she did not report the rape immediately out of horror and fearfulness of losing her parent's love for her. Patsy never married and died in her late 50's of breast cancer which is the normal outcome of an early life abortion. That is something people don't tell women who seek an abortion: the risk of developing breast cancer is almost 100%. The immature developing milk cells stagnate and eventually become cancerous. Patsy grieved all her adult life about the early life secret abortion and worked as a volunteer at the Rape Crisis Center in Hanford, California, for nine years. The paying job was given to someone else because Patsy tried to discourage young women from having abortions. The clinic policy was to encourage abortions. Patsy is gone now, but the trauma that was lifelong from being raped by a person who should have been helping her who was a person in authority was unimaginable. She never recovered and was sorrowful all her adult life and fearful of men to the point she did not marry.
12. One reason religious women fall prey to a rapist in
Rivkah   (10.02.10)
authority is because they are taught to be submissive at home and to obey the father and mother because that is pleasing to the Lord. When a male in authority takes advantage of the obedient nature of the religious girl to harm her, the damage is almost irrepairable psychologically. The harm is lifelong. Instead of loathing the attacker, the girl often loathes herself for being attacked and may develop a Stockholm Syndrome attachment to the male who harmed her. What does Rabbi Yeshua say about harming one of his little ones? It would be better for a milstone to be tied around the person's neck and be cast into the sea than for a person to harm one of his little ones. That certainly means eternal separation of the soul from the Lord. God's little ones are precious. Raping a grown woman is terrible enough, but raping a girl is something the Lord cannot forgive. It is too catastrophic. But false accusers are equally as despised by the Lord. If the person accused is in the Lord's camp and accepted by God then the false accusation is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit in the person falsely accused. Even mere slander is blasphemy as the book of Job in the Bible illustrate. ONLY Job was accepted by God. The slanderers repented but were NOT accepted by God. If the girl has falsely accused the male, she cannot enter into the Kingdom of God, even if she repents.
13. Hey Committee for Rabbinic Integrity What no political gain?
Josh   (10.02.10)

14. If Rabbis can falsly accuse of murder under fake lashon hara
Josh   (10.02.10)
What is good for the goose is good for the gander? If one can create a law in Torah where none exists and then expand it to convert rechiloot in to a murder accusation, who could expect them to protect an righteousness? Adding to Torah is a sin. Creating false charges to silence opposition is also a sin. No wonder the victim is in fear of here life. Jack boot cult thugs are not lawyers and ecertainly not judges. Who expects one to administer righteousness let alone protect the souls of our people. One would rathe expect them to cover for officers an betray us. What is this? ...and who follows such men to their peril? I certainly do not want my souls counted in the ranks of such men who cover up from the community the true manner in which they apply the law. ONE LAW FOR ALL. Not a separate for converts, educated, Rabbis, etc. Asur! Saying that gossip is murder, encouraging pagan food for ghost, or encouraging one to lay hands on Karites extra judicially is false Torah and someone should be held accountable. False prophets!
15. #8 Dr. Kanin's report is highly criticized
SNS   (10.02.10)
Since Dr. Kanin's report was published in 1994 it has been consistantly criticized as being unscientific in terms of its methodology. It is one thing to claim that someone is innocent until proven guilty it is another to claim that 50% of all women are lying when they claim to have been sexually assulted, especially when it is based on one unscientific study that has been highly criticized. The majority of all sexual abuse is never reported, frequently because the victim fears no one will believe her/him. Dr. Kanin's report and your perpetuation of its incorrect conclusion only feeds into this fear and causes even fewer victims to report.
16. 14 , again attacking ALL the Rabbanim
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.02.10)
It's ONE who is accused , not ALL the Rabbanim are . You soul ? a FAKE convert's one .
17. Robert # 8
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.02.10)
So for you , if i understand you correctly , it would be better to leave an accused father at home , in contact with his accuser ? I can't imagine such a situation . You are right when you say that everyone is innocent untill the contrary is proven .
18. Charles #17: You're putting words
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (10.02.10)
and thoughts into my argument that weren't there. Very lawyerly-like but a poor way to make an argument for educational purposes. The norm is for the woman to accuse the father. The father is then forced to leave the home and separate from the children. If the father has the financial clout to complete the Court process and the stamina to complete it as he is now faced with poor publicity and even if it's shown that he was innocent, it's been years, the children have been set against the father by now and even Courts, acknowledging this, rule against the father even when he is proven innocent, as it would be too agonizing to remove the children from the mother's care. The situation is far more complex, Charles, than your simple comment would make us believe. If you wish to learn more, study the work of Dr. Richard Gardner on Parental Alienation syndrome (PAS) and ensuing arguments, both pro and con. I hope this helps.
19. Robert , You did'nt say it , OK
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.03.10)
But you said that forbidding the father to be in touch with his children is bad . So what do you propose ? No false accusations ? day dreams ! If a woman falsely accuses the father , it's a sign that there are big couple problems , and that she wants to hurt him as much she can , even if also hurting the children by acting so . We are talking about sexually abusing adults , not the effects on the children . They suffer of course , but it's another , big , problem . What about this "highly criticised" repoprt ?
20. On a related topic: Do you think Moshe Katzav is guilty?
MIchael ,   Canada   (10.03.10)
http://www.jpost.com/Israel/Article.aspx?id=185018 His trial has been going on for years and years now (over 3 1/2). I'm very suspicious of trials that take that long. If he sexually abused someone it shouldn't take more than a few months to conclude the trial. If there is not enough evidence then he should have been let go. There is something seriously wrong with the justice system.
21. Truth
CR ,   JErusalem ISrael   (10.03.10)
as someone who is involved- there is usually a pattern of these things. There is no such pattern and there are no other alleged victims. Mrs. Buhcnik is not the most reliable person to put it mildly, as someone who has known her for years.
22. Please don't believe everything you read
anonymous ,   jerusalem   (10.03.10)
This is a vile piece of slander. Imagine someone hell-bent on ruining your father and his reputation pulls a stunt like this on him. Suddenly a man who has worked tirelessly for the good of his community and the betterment of society is condemned to be known as a sex offender. This teacher who wrongly defamed him has a pretty good idea of how much pain she is causing an innocent man, but I wonder if she realizes how much pain she is causing G-d by this disgusting display of Sinas Chinam, baseless hatred. I find it ironic that ynet news claims that comments containing incitement and slander will not be published, yet that is all this article contains. Please, fellow Jews, especially the ones who commented something like "What kind of Judaism is the Rabbi practicing?", if Torah and G-d are so precious to you, then do not accept this vicious lie about his people! You may not realize it, but there are certain conditions that must be met before you are allowed to believe lashon hara, slander, about a fellow Jew. Reading an article based on the testimony of a bitter teacher irrationally bent on destroying an innocent man's life is not a reliable way to come to conclusions, from both an intellectual and religious standpoint. Please find it in your hearts to be open-minded enough to realize that not every news source eager to spotlight a scandal speaks the truth.
23. Not admit to the claims , but willing to pay
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.03.10)
So , for them claims "unfounded" but they pay ! If i were innocent , i would NEVER pay one Agora .
24. #18 Dr. Richard Gardner's ideas are also highly criticized
SNS   (10.03.10)
Dr. Gardner's Parental Alienation Syndrome has never been accepted by the American Psychiatric Association or the American Psychological Association. His writings tend to minimize the trauma caused by pedophilic abuse. Go to this site and judge for yourself: http://www.cincinnatipas.com/richardgardner-pas.html
25. #23 sometimes it cheaper and less hurtful to settle.
rebecca ,   Modiin   (10.03.10)
Court cases are both expensive and, no matter who "wins" in this situation both loose. Note that the accuser also settled and agreed to the accused not taking responsibility. And then of course someone took this to the papers... so someone wanted to ruin reputations, no matter what they'd agreed to.And this method is so much easier because the papers just so want to get at the Rabbis.
26. I am very familiar, SNS, with the criticisms
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (10.03.10)
against Richard Gardner as, before retirement, I was involved in countless custody & access disputes. The fact is, however, that over a period of time PAS gradually became part of the literature and is now generally accepted by the Courts. I don't want to enter the arguments again but anyone with considerable experience in the field, as opposed to academics and womens' advocates, will tell you how frequently it appears in disputed cases. It affects not only parents (usually the father) but also the father's parents (grandparents) and is iniquitous for what it does to the everlasting relationship between children and father.
27. Dr. Kanin's report #15: I've tried to
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (10.03.10)
respond but the comment wasn't published. Dr. Kanin's paper was published in 2004. He retired shortly thereafter. He said womens' groups and activists were so vociferous that he gave up publishing an intended follow up. I read the report thoroughly. His sociological procedure was simple and very careful and can be relied upon. In social sciences, it's normal for any published piece of work to be criticized, especially if controversal. In this case, there are others who made follow up studies with a similar result. Fictitious accusations of sexual abuse and assault have become quite normal and all experienced professionals are aware of this.
28. Rebecca , 25
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.03.10)
Change your last word : It should be Rabbi . It's only HE who is accused , not the Rabbanim . Even as procedures are expensive , i would never agree to such an arrangement . How you turn it , paying to silence someone , nothing for me . I'm an "akshen"
29. Robert , that's all fine . But your solution ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.03.10)
What to do with the father ?
30. Charles #29: Your question is way
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (10.03.10)
beyond the purview of this set of commentaries but, to start with, the Courts jumps at the accusations of "assault" and "sexual abuse" rather than doing a comprehensive, and most especially, a rapid job in assessing the situation so even if no proof is found, the matter is not put to rest for at least one year, sometimes more. Furthermore, the falsely accusing party (usually the woman) is rarely punished as a result. It's like "perjury", Court disputants are rarely punished even when it's proved and normally the Courts accept perjury as part of everyday discourse. I think our Torah has something to say about that ("bearing false witness").
