I agree, we should CUT OFF ALL AIDE to the Palestinians. It only serves to subsidize ISRAEL's occupation of the lands. Israel should be the one that is responsible for the welfare of the Palestinian people they occupy. The new governor-elect of Florida speaks of an Arizona- type immigration law whereby "illegal' immigrants could be thrown in jail by the state. Does she speak on that subject? Of course not because Cubans have their own 'Law of Return', i.e the Cuban Adjustment Act of 1966 giving immediate legal resident status to all Cubans who manage to reach US soil. Does she advocate the termination of such special status? Never. For these are her future constituents. Perhaps people do get the government they deserve. Holding up this pathetic excuse of a pandering politician as an exemplar of any sort of 'Statesman' is truly insane.

I am a Turkish Jew and have a pretty good knowledge about the genealogy of Turkish Sephardi. Ileana's father Enrique Emilio Ros y Perez was not Jewish and from the name it is very unlikely that his parents were Turkish Jews. His Wife Amanda Adato might be a Turkish Jew but but my family was very close to the Adato's of Istanbul (The famous Lawyer Adato was my grandfather's partner in his law practice and a close family friend) while the Adato family in Izmir also were my personal close friends since my childhood in 1950ies. None had family ties in Cuba. If you have concrete information about Mr. Ros' Jewish family ties please explain otherwise I must say that all of your claims are unfounded heresy.

Israel is NOT getting 4 billion of our tax dollars per year. Go look it up, you will have to search very hard. They are only reporting US Tax dollars given as military aid to Israel that is written down on paper, and even that is a lie. Even adding special add-ons to support joint projects like the Arrow defense system, it has yet to top $4 billion - EVER. The US has *never* had to cover loan guarantees, as all the loans have been paid in full. And let's not forget that when one adds US aid to Lebanon, Jordan, and the Palestinians, the total exceeds what goes to Israel. One more thing. What Israel does FOR the US in the region means the US doesn't have to do it themselves. Just think about how much the US spends on their bases in Germany, Turkey and South Korea.
