You are the weakest link,goodbye!

No, never had a Bar Mitzvah, and I love all of my relatives, Jewish or otherwise. Love costs nothing and makes good things happen. You seem quite adept at compartmentalizing your Jews. So, you can trace your lineage back to which child of Jacob? If you can't trace your lineage back that far, how do you know that your nth generation ancestor wasn't a mere convert. You might not be Jewish enough for yourself! You are correct that you can accept or reject any of the children of Israel as your people. I'm very glad that it is the Almighty LORD, note the somewhat less mighty Charles, that has the true say in who is a Jew and who is not. And of course, if HaShem says "John and his emmi are Jews" and Charles says "they are not My people" ... are you _sure_ that is something you want to say? ;) As to your implied criticism, yes, if I become a son of the Law, I will of course make aliyah as soon as it is possible. That's something I take very seriously, even if I am sitting on the sidelines, both geographically and halachically, at the moment.
93. 90 , I know what i'm talking about
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (11.22.10)
I know the signification of "others" "NEVER" , that no one "sponsorise" a diamond mine , and what "over and out" means . That means NO ANSWER needed or wanted . I pity you .

Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (11.22.10)
For a secular Jew as i am , there is no god and halacha is not always correct . So don't bring in arguments as the inexisting "almighty" lord . I never heard this "hashem" saying or doing something . Listen John , i love people , be they Jewish or Gentiles . You can be a person i maybe could appreciate as an Human , for your qualities , but not accept you as a Jew . My Jewish lineage , on my Father's ZL side goes only back , it was written , for a 20 generations . I will not reject "any" of the childrten of Israel as MY people . The "CHILDREN of Israel" : converts are not included .

I forgot . I always said and say that to become a Jew some generations are needed , no need to go back to MY ancient People's history from more than 3000 years ago .
96. Charles,you are the strongest link!

I will be praying for you, my friend. Not as some pious-sounding substitute for flipping you off, but because G-D loves you and the least that I can do is pray that He shows you His love and goodness. So you only go back 20 generations before you lose track and could be cursed with mere converts in your lineage. Interesting. And your mother's side, how many? In your view, how many generations does it take to get to become a "Jew"? Where does the Torah support this generational delay? I will let you have the last word in this thread. My last word for you is that I see HaShem (my way of saying YHWH, the G-D of Avraham, Yitzach and Ya'akov), the Almighty saying and doing things all through the Scriptures, from Genesis through all the Torah, the Prophets and the Writings.
99. 97 which Charles? De Gaulle?
ORA ,   Jerusalem   (11.22.10)
Je vous ai compris, mon general.(I understood you)

Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (11.23.10)
You are NOT a Jew , by your own saying , and Ora wished you good luck in trying to convert me . Smart . She and you can try 1000 times , i'm sure of my non belief in a god who showedf his "love" to six million of my [ NOT your ] brethren during the Shoa [ do you know what Shoa means ? ] I can't appreciate people , Goyim , who want to pray for me . My Mother's ZL parents and sisters and brothers were praying , were "believing" people . They all finished in auschwitz . It's sad that "people" in the 21st century still believe in a god . Maybe they need it to behave correctly , even if it is not always trhe case . So stay in your Alaska and get frozen there .
101. 99 , don't you know that De gaulle died

104. To Ora ,
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (11.24.10)
Thanks for your wishes , memes voeux de ma part . Regarding this goyish john : as a goy he can't convert me to Judaism only to his goyish "faith" . And that's why i was a little bit angry by your "wishing him to succeed" You can try [ till 120 years ] to make me a "ba'al tshuva" , but will not and NEVER succeed . I would like to react on other issues , but i have better things to do , not waste my time here .
105. 104 Charles Hazlaha!!!

Abraham was a convert - so you wouldn't consider him Jewish???? And what about Rabbi Akiva? His parents were converts. Aside from this point, being a secular Jew in the Diaspora usually brings an end to the Jewishness of the family. All four of my great-grandparents left Russia for the US over 100 years ago and today all of my siblings, cousins, etc are married to non-Jews, except for me. I am the only one raising Jewish children. Why? Because I am the only one who became Orthodox and made aliyah. This is what they call the Silent Holocaust. I even know of Holocaust survivors in the States whose great-grandchildren are not Jewish, because their families are not religious and their grandchildren married out. In another two generations, only the Orthodox will still be Jewish in North America - and in probably the rest of the Galut too. Because you made aliyah, your family here will most likely stay Jewish. But, again, this is not the case in the Galut.

Brian ,   West Chester, USA   (12.02.11)
Shanda, Charles! Don't you know that as many as a third of the 'Hebrews' in the Exodus were actually native Egyptians? And if you act so snootily superior about having a 'Yiddisha mame' and such tripe, how different are you from the trash telling how noble their pedigree is?! Your Jewishness is in no way, shape or form superior to that of a convert and SHANDA on you for saying so! If you like your variant better, well and good: we all have our own tastes--but take any notion of your 'superior' Jewishness and SHOVE IT!

No trurer words, Dan. Our daughter went to a very good school and every year we donate to help pay the cost for one student to go to Israel each year with the 8th grade.

were converts... Do you not accept them as YOUR people, when the G_d of Yaakov chose them for such important roles?
