61. Origins of the israelites
Lion of Judah ,   Lisbon, Portugal   (11.24.10)
«As you know, there's no "Israeli" or Jewish people, they have been invented according to Shlomo Sand» Shlomo Sand is an incompetent teacher and should have been expelled from teaching a long time ago. First of all it's interesting how we assumed that all israelite across the Middle East and Europe have nothing in common with the ancient israelites, which is is equivalent to say that Judaism was adopted by foreigner without any connection to Israel or its people. So who passed down Judaism to these people? Aliens? Of course such theory is ridiculous and it has been widely disproven not only through historical documentation that he failed to analyze but also through DNA studies which point out to the middle eastenr origins of the modern israelites, despite some periods of admixture with european populations, specially in the case of ashkenazim. One should note though, that mos tof this admixture was done between israelite males and european females. Around 70% of ashkenazi males belong to middle eastern paternal lineages, whereas only around 40-45% of ashkenazi females belong to middle eastern lineages. On the other hand sephardi israelites are more related to middle eastern, caucasian and southern european populations while mizrahi are mostly of middle eastern and caucasian origins. it's also important to note that admixture is part of israelite/canaanite History since its early beggining. For instance, the philistines were a people of greek origins who may be higly related to the phoenicians. Moreover, the hitites, who ruled the land of Canaan for some centuries along with hurrians semi nomadic warriors, were people of anatolian and caucasian origins. Its is now eing assumed by modern historians that their expulsion from Egypt during the 13th century BCE is behind the biblical story of the Exodus.
62. #50 Gee. This law is a start but we must strengthen it.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.24.10)
#50 Gee. You're correct. This law is not strong enough. However, it is a start. It is one of the very few things from the Knesset about our land that makes sense. We must strengthen it in accordance to the wishes of the vast majority of Israelis, who oppose ceding any of our land. We must stop letting a small minority of destructive post Zionist leftists run our Homeland.
63. To Sarah
Gaby ,   Australia   (11.24.10)
I'm waiting to see Sarah B's answer to Matty Groves at #s 33 and 43. And hope it will be more erudite than that of #49. Oh OK # 49, I'll shut the fuck up.
64. To # 35

Nour, wash your mouth out!

Yossef ,   Toronto/Rehovot   (11.24.10)
I hope for you that you don't understand or measure what you say. There is no way to talk together anymore if you mind what you say, you close the door.
67. Salma, there will be no solution
Yossef ,   Toronto/Rehovot   (11.24.10)
except war if you go this direction. Don't cut the link with the few friends you can have on this side. You remind me something: I was at my cousin in Nataniah once, talking politics, he said to me that the solution would be to deport you Arabs from west bank (or Arab palestinians according to your definition) to Jordan. I replied to him that I will never drive such a truck and ask him if he would do the job. He hesitated and didn't answer me. The debate was closed on the subject. Some of you continue to dream to throw us to the sea, some of us continue to dream to push you to Jordan. As usual the solution will be in the middle, or not, but then it will be a tragedy.
68. #42 correction
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (11.24.10)
First, from your admission in your posts and from Fatah we know that "Palestinians" are not the indigenous people of Israel but includes recent Arab immigrants, as I said, illegal colonists who moved in since 1920 under the illegal British occupation. Now you want to discuss who are the "Jews" so you quote some guy called Shlomo Zand? As others have written, The Koran itself says that the Jews own Israel. You expect us to believe Shlomo Zand more than the Koran?
