Martin ,   SA   (12.06.10)
An apology would allow those violent brutal thugs to be paraded as heros on our account. They are infamous and must remain so . Fires are one thing thuggery is another Dont mix them lets move on.

J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (12.06.10)
Before ww,1 Turkey was called the sick man of Europe, today Erdogan is the sick man of Turkey, and is infecting Turkey with the Islamic madness,Erdogan will remove Kamal Ataturk as the founder of modern Turkey, and crown himself Caliph Erdogan the first, since Erdogan joined the axis of evil,Hamas,Hizbolla,Iran,Turkey's days in Nato are numbered,Turkey is an enemy within Nato.
37. Has Turkey yet apologized for attack on Sophia in 1878?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (12.06.10)
Bulgaria's Deputy FM (and former ambassador to Israel), noting why Bulgaria was the first with "boots on the ground", explained the special relationship between his own and the Jewish people. He notes that "Sophia's Jewish community formed a militia and a team of firefighters that saved the city from being set aflame by the retreating Turks." Have the Turks ever apologized for their aggression against the non-Muslim peoples they sought to dominate? Then they should shut up about an apology from Israel whose forces were, in the event, only defending themselves.
38. Erdogan sounds like
Matthias ,   Munich, Germany   (12.06.10)
a marionette for kids that can only say apolopy, apology every time it moves up. Can everyone put it in a basket?

41. To all Turks - thank you for the help. Your planes and pilot

were very helpful in our dire need. Thank you.
42.  # 13 just shut up you ignorant
turkish woman ,   Istanbul-Turkey   (12.06.10)
you don't represent Turkey. There are 63 % of Turks who didn't vote for your PM and that makes 47.000.000 people, don't ever forget that. # 17 what difference does it make whether its helicopters or planes? If you were a good muslim you'd have learnt to refrain yourself from boosting. These people have lost 40 lives in a terrible fire and you're still talking, it's not an appropriate time to do it and your prophet (who is also mine) would be ashamed of you.
43. Yes we did for germany as favor not for you
turkman ,   istanbul   (12.06.10)

45. It is quite simple. So just say it.
Salma ,   Palestine   (12.06.10)
Say you are SORRY Bibi.
46. Erdogan's new play "le Roi malgre lui"
romain   (12.06.10)
If that dog had not unleashed his dogs on the Marmara, an apology would not be in the picture. In a crisis, one can always judge by the behavior of " a friend " to be the "real" one; mask removed, eyes flashinf, teeth ready for the jugular. I will curse Bibi and/or Peres the rest of my life if they are foolish enough to apologise
47. to my turkish woman #42
i wonder   (12.06.10)
i am aware of what you said - so why don't you get rid of the clique? they are going to doom you all with their misguided islamism, no doubt about that and we both don't want that, do we?
48. to salma: 'thou shalt not lie', so: hope he won't
chaibar chaibar   (12.06.10)
49. Why changing flag of Marmara from Turkey to Komor Islands?
observer   (12.06.10)
if IHH had not changed the flag to Komor Islands and the ship had been attacked, it would have been recognized as an aggression against Turkish national territory, since the ship was on international waters. Thus, it would not only have resulted in a more fierce emotional reaction, but also in the coming up to the agenda of the famous (or infamous) Article 5 of the NATO treaty, which establishes that NATO states respond collectively to any armed attack against a member state. So, the move of changing the flag seems to be the result of a neatly-adjusted and elaborately thought plan of the governing AKP, after preventing its MPs from boarding the ship. The ship was an experimental attempt by AKP.
50. next will be
observer   (12.06.10)
a ship rising Turkish flag, escorted by Turkish Navy.
51. Pro-Israili Erdogan tries to save Turkish Israeli relations
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (12.06.10)
Turkish PM Erdogan is pro-israili under an anti-zionist skin, this skin is just to lure muslim public that they are working for islam Now he open the door to a dry appology to save Israeli-Turkish relations, Turkish public WANTS to SEVERE all TIES with ISRAEL Erdogan has not cancelled even SINGLE military agreement with Israel
52. #42 Turkish woman, Turkish Firefighters
R ,   Israel   (12.06.10)
We know that Erdogan does not represent all Turks. I hope that he doesn't succeed in tearing apart the good relationship between the Turkish and Israeli people. Thank you for your humanity and your help.
53. why hasn't the US designated IHH as foreign terrorist group?
observer   (12.06.10)
the İHH plays a role in Turkish domestic politics and is part of the broad and diverse coalition – ranging from political Islamists with palpable hostility toward Israel to centrist businessmen to a new generation of progressive intellectuals without a political home – that brought the AKP to power. It is not in the United States’ interest to lump these different constituencies together or suggest that the current government of an important U.S. ally is guilty by association, whatever its self-defeating rhetorical excesses. You see!, putting on the list of terror organizations is mostly POLITICAL decision.
54. next week Nato have conferense in Istambul
ghostq   (12.06.10)
about Turkey behavior in the ME, the meeting will include all the heads of NATO, and after the late Erdogan behavior especially in Hiz Lebanon area, it will be no brainer, that stupid thing like apology will be the least of his problems, he will literally going to be on trial, he basicaly asked for it, especially in Iran area. sad to say the entire turks will pay for what one fool did.
55. after disappearance of the communist threat
observer   (12.06.10)
The Europeans alienated Turkey from around 2005, and the U.S. invasion of Iraq 2003 underscored how much American and Turkish strategic perceptions had come to diverge since the disappearance of the communist threat. Once a partner of the West, Turkey no longer hesitates to challenge the authority of Washington. This interpretation is consistent both with the Iranian nuclear deal brokered by Turkey and Brazil, and with the Turkish handling of the Gaza confrontation. Both Ankara and Brasilia appeared to have as their main objective to prevent the U.S. from succeeding in having the UN Security Council pass a new set of sanctions against Iran. Brazil has recently recognized the Palestine state and its ruling PA.
56. Turkey is the one who owes alot of apologies
zionist forever   (12.06.10)
The Armenians The Cypriots The Kurds Erdogan is the one who owes all the apologies here and the only people the Israeli government owes an apology is Barak's decision to send the commandos armed with paintball guns instead of tear gas and rubber bullets.
57. To: No. 45
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.06.10)
It IS quite simple. So why cannot Abbas repudiate the vile charter of Fatah that calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination and/or expulsion of the Jewish people? It IS quite simple. So why cannot Abbas recognize the right of the Jewish people to exist in their ancient homeland? It IS quite simple. So why cannot Abbas acknowledge the State of Israel as the Jewish State? You're right. For once. It IS quite simple. --------------------------------- Prime Minister Netanyahu is under no obligation to apologize for having acted properly and fully legally under all recognized international convention. Turkey is inching closer and closer to the Islamofascist camp. Israel is not interested in closer ties with a pariah state, thank you very much.
58. To: No. 27
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.06.10)
Really? Did you miss the part where IHH terrorists aboard the vessel MAVI MARMARA attacked Israeli soldiers who legally interdicted a vessel attempting to run the blockade? Did you miss the part where Israel showed great restraint and did not counter with force until the Turkish terrorists on board the vessel swung at the soldiers with iron pipes and threw some into the water? What did you expect Israel to do then? Play tiddlywinks? Israel warned the MAVI MARMARA that it was attempting to run a fully legal and internationally-recognized blockade. The vessel repeatedly ignored the order to turn around. The MAVI MARMARA is quite lucky that the Israelis showed great restraint and opted not to blow the MAVI MARMARA out of the water. That's what the Canadian Coast Guard does to fishing smacks that illegally fish in Canadian waters and refuse orders to turn around. Didn't you know that?
59. To: No. 49
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.06.10)
LOL! No, the MAVI MARMARA is a commercial cargo ship. It does not constitute Turkish national territory, and Israel acted in accordance with recognized international convention in protecting its fully legal and internationally recognized blockade. Moreover, the vessel was found to have no humanitarian aid aboard. It was clearly an act of aggression on the part of the Turkish government acting, no doubt, at the behest of her new Iranian masters. Did you hear a single peep out of NATO following the incident? No, you did not. Ever stop to wonder why? By the way -- you really should stop cutting and pasting wholesale and passing other people's work off as your own. It's called plagiarism. It's also a copyright violation, and is punishable by law. We know you are incapable of an original thought, and we know the limitations of your English. You're not coming across as particularly erudite; just particularly foolish. You think we're not on to your rather ham-handed tricks?
60. 13 & 45
(12.06.10)
Gokhan The actions of the captain of the Mavi Mara was the illegal hostile acton not what Israel did. Israel had been telling the Mavi Mara for days they would not be allowed to breach the blockade and reach Gaza and instead they should dock in Israel where the cargo would be searched and transported overland. The Mavi Mara was determined to break the legal blockade ( Gaza is a hostile entity and the purpose of the blockade is to prevent smuggling in of weapons to be used against Israel ) Under the Helsinki Principles it is legal to board a ship in international waters trying to breach a legal blockade. The Mavi Mara planned to breach the blockade so Israel sent people aboard the ship with the intent on taking control and of the ship and sailing it to Israel. The IDF went out of its way to take the boat as peacefully as possible. The commandos primary weapon was a paintball gun rather than tear gas and rubber bullets. Unfortunately this turned out to be the wrong tactic and the men were unable to deal with a lynch mob using paintball guns and to protect their own lives the men had to take out their real guns and that of course meant casualties Making Turkey an enemy has bought Israel two new friends in the form of Greece & Cyprus. It Greece where Israelis think abut taking their holidays now not Turkey. Erdogan should be saying sorry to the Armenians, Kurds & Cypriots. Salma 1) Israel has nothing to apologize for because it broke no laws. 2) An apology will lead to pressure being put on Israel to end the blockade something it had no intention on doing. 3) With or without an apology Turkey is in bed with our enemies now ( Iran, Syria & Hizbollah ) so the last thing we need is an enemy in the camp using diplomacy to weaken Israel while our enemies who are Turkeys alllies get stronger.
