1. Israel should apologize to Turkish...
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (12.08.10)
...Kurds, Armenians and Greeks who suffer under Muslim rule.
2. sure we shall pay give me uor account number
turkman ,   istanbul   (12.08.10)
we shall make rush payment
3. Guts!
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (12.08.10)
No matter what the press say, we, the people of Israel are more and more convinced that it's much better a leader with guts that somebody like Peres, Barak, Livni, etc.. Lieberman will get the next elections because he is a proud man!
4. a million per cent correct-turkey must apologize
yehuda cohen ,   tel aviv   (12.08.10)
there is no way israel should apologize or anything --turkey knew it was terrorism and the ihh is funded by hamas -they are trying bto get away with murder
5. Lieberman
LG ,   USA   (12.08.10)
Is a great FM. He is right every time. It's not that he says anything that any half-wit would not know, it's that he says the blunt and straight truth that everybody knows.
6. Liberman should resign, as who turned every country against
Mark ,   USA   (12.08.10)
Israel in few years, can't you see that this man is responsiable for the allience of most of the countries now in Latin America, he did more damage to Israel than any one, he should never allowed to return to policitc and retire, Turkish and Israel allience is very important, if he do not know that than he do not belong to politic, time to say goodbye to Liberman and his party
7. Lieberman is right. No apology, no compensation.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (12.08.10)
We'll see just how much backbone Netanyahu has as his emissary tries to find the right words to satisfy Turkey while not humiliating his own country. But if Bibi offers anything that can be seen as an apology or any compensation to the Turks is offered, he will merit a vote of no confidence.
8. New evidence
John   (12.08.10)
There is a ton of new evidence, much coming from Turkish sources, proving (not speculating) that the IHH was involved in terrorism since the 1990s and that the current Turkish government was well aware of this long before the flotilla. So, while Lieberman should keep his mouth shut regarding childish 'tit-for-tat' comments because it helps no one, Israel has absolutely nothing to apologize for. The only boat to engage in hostilities was that of the IHH and it was pre-planned violence...Israel has not one thing to be sorry for.
9. Turkey needs to apologize to Israel, M. East and the Balkans
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (12.08.10)
The Turks have had a giant empire stretching from North Africa, the Levant (Israel), the Arabian Peninsula, Mesopotamia, Minor Asia (Turkey) to the Caucasian Mountains, Souther Ukraine, Poland, southern Russia and the Balkans. At the peak of Turkish/Ottoman power, Turks stood outside the gates of Vienna. Turks have committed genocide when they decided to kill innocent Armenian men, women and children - a considerable blot on Turkey's record. On top of that, Turks have massacred Kurds and the Turks opposed Jewish and Arab nationalism and the Turks opposed Romanian, Bulgarian, Greek and Yugoslav nationalism ( consisting of several separate nations). Turks owe a huge moral debt to mankind and they are in no position to dictate terms to Israel or anyone else. Above all, Turks need to grow up, give up their imperialist ideology of Turkish supremacy and they need to become much more humble in world affairs. And they need to democratize Turkey, agree to Kurdish independence, protect human rights and fight Islam.
10. Foreign Minister Lieberman
frank ,   usa   (12.08.10)
beginnig of the end
11. Lieberman!, do you want the compensation also in Marks
observer   (12.08.10)
12. Mr. Edogan
Richard ,   USA   (12.08.10)
From what I have read, Mr. Erdogan supported the whole mini-armada and in effect incited the incident that he says he is so incensed about. Mr. Erdogan should have acted through diplomatic channels and not the way he did. He should personally apologize to the Turkish people and the Israeli people for his - to say the least - unprofessional conduct. He brought about the incident by lending his support to the mini armada and apparently also to the thugs on the boat where the incident occurred. The incident was caused by him and not Israel. Now Mr. Erdogan is embarrassed and wants Israel to bail him out.
13. FINALLY! Somebody said the truth! Turkey is an aggressor!
(12.08.10)
Turkey started the blood libel campaign against Israel. Turkey is responsible for incitement against Israel both in media and in diplomacy. Turkey aided and actively supported the IHH terrorists, lending them the protecion of the official Turkish flag. Turkey committed an act of war by trying to break an internationally-recognized legal blockade. It is only natural that Turkey should pay a hefty price.
14. #2 "turkman", no need for bank accounts.
(12.08.10)
Turkey will pay, and not necessarily with money. I guess that now we have new Greek and Armenian friends. Pity that you've just pushed us in the wide-open hands of your mortal enemies! If you live in a glass house, don't throw stones at someboy else's house!
15. Turkish arrogance: there is no Ottoman Empire anymore!
(12.08.10)
Turkish government behaves just as the old Turkish Sultanate behaved: with arrogance and impudence, looking for foreign "conquests" instead of caring for its impoverished and undeveloped society. We survive the rape of the now-defunct murderous and genocidal Ottoman Empire it in the past. We survived the also-defunct Persian Empire too! You can bet your soul that we'll survive the genocidal Jihadist Turkey and Iran again!
16. #11 Nobody cares what you think, "observer"
(12.08.10)
I guess you should have noticed this by now.
17. #6 Save your demagogy, Mark! Disinformation is not effective
(12.08.10)
18. The days of this FM in office are numbered
Avi ,   TA   (12.08.10)
my bet he is out of office wthin a month.
19. Most talkbacks here seem to confuse
Dave   (12.08.10)
the distinction between guts and stupidity, unfortunately Lieberman has been gifted with the latter.
20. 6 million
mohson   (12.08.10)
Six million jews died in spite of jewish leaders appeals' for help to Roosevelt and western leaders. When their security was under foreign leaders, bad things happened. Now Israel can defend itself. In spite of this, it has calculating politicians who try to curry favor with Turkey or Obama knowing that it will only backfire. Why would anyone do this? Fear, fear of being alone, jewish gene of submission. Israeli generals no less, some of them do this even when they know that what they are suggesting will not work. Along comes a rough- edged politician Lieberman who calls terror for what it is, and says no, israel has nothing to apologize for in the case of the marmora even considering trying to get Turkey back in the fold. And Lieberman is willing to hold to his position because erdogan will not be satisfied with concessions. Think of it-someone attacks you with hatchets and you say you're sorry and pay compensation. Barak and ben eliezer are sick?
21. finally a true word. tell turkey pay up, fess up or go home
ralph   (12.08.10)
22. lieberman is right. amazing how naive the left is!
ralph   (12.08.10)
23. Liberman is right. Israel was within its rights to
Harry Wright ,   UK   (12.08.10)
protect its troops who were under attack by the IHH terrorists. They were being bludgeoned and carved up and an attempt was made to kidnap them. That fact has not changed with Erdogan's aid. What Israel should be doing is assessing the cost of Turkey's assistance and offering them compensation for it. Whoever tied in improvement in relations with the aid is on the wrong track. I am sure that Israel is grateful for the assistance of the Turks in helping it deal with the Carmel fire. I hardly think that means it is sorry for protecting its forces who were attacked by Turkish terrorists.
24. Er-dog-an = Goliath
bruno ,   Portugal   (12.08.10)
Turkey has to apologize, but this they won't do because they are too proud to admit anything. Why should Israel always be the one to be humble and make concessions ? If Lieberman would have been PM and would give the order to sink those IHH pirates, then the rules of the game would change. Don't you see that Erdogan is just like Goliath ? May God bless Israel .
25. Lieberman 100% correct
Mongo ,   Paris   (12.08.10)
Lieberman for PM. Thje terrorists deserve him ;)
26. israel is no TURKEY
LES ,   CANADA   (12.08.10)
RICARDO, YOU ARE RIGHT ON THE BALL! lieberman is the only MAN in that government, who is not afraid to speak the truth. and that is what israel needs in this difficult times. a leader who leads, not worrying about the next election! and that's you bb, tough talk before elected, pussycat after......
27.  He Is a great FM. He is right every time.
Eran ,   Singapore   (12.08.10)
With each crazy outburst and colorful (but empty) threat, the Turkish PM is sounding more and more to Western ears like his friend Ahmedinejad. I'm waiting for the day when he will declare the mother of all wars on America, the Zionist entity, and all of their allies. The average Turk has a far greater grasp on reality than does Mr Erdogan. Perhaps after his departure, the 'Turkish way' will once more dictate reasonable and responsible behavior
28.  compensatoin
john orighoye ,   gerona spain   (12.08.10)
I had thought the isrealis were fools but no they aren,t it is turkey that will have to apologize and pay compensation to israel. john 7/12/10.

30. It's about time!
