I fully support freedom of speech. In fact, it is helpful in allowing those, like Mr. Katz to show what kind of person they are. What I say in private (or think), as a private citizen, is my business. What I say in public, as an elected official is a completely different matter. An elected official ceases to be a private citizen, and represents the needs of the people. For the good of the country, leaders must be able to put aside pettiness and personal agendas, and work for the greater good. These kind of statements are irresponsible.
