61. Lieberman is Great!!
David ,   New York, USA   (12.29.10)
Lieberman is not 'politically correct'; he is correct.
62. Repeated Foolishness
TSB ,   Clifton USA   (12.29.10)
"The foreign minister is the one who should say that although we have no clear proof that the Palestinians are willing to compromise, we shall continue to act tirelessly in order to secure understandings and peace with them." THis reminds me of the old saying in Proverbs 26:11 "As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness"
63. Thanks for the free publicity!
Evet ,   Liberated Judea   (12.29.10)
I appreciate any free publicity that the geniuses at Ben Gurion University are willing to provide me and my party - particularly in English. Thanks to your efforts, the role of prime minister is now in our sights. I will remember the favor when we come to power. After all, left wing university professors are the best form of advertisment for any politician who truly cares about the future of Israel. Now if I can only get Obama on board....
64. What must Lieberman do to make Israel "POPULAR"?
Alan ,   SA   (12.29.10)
Basicaly ,short story, they want a Government that will allow all the things the Arabs want. - ie Livni, Barak, that Oslo guy, and Peres types. ie Return to 67 borders and admission of all refugees that present themselves at the new borders and a sort of "sunset clause" allowing Jews to remain until the Arab section can outvote the Jewish section .Should take one or two Knesset Periods. Then the future fate of the Jews in the proposed Arab State of Palestine ,will follow closely the path of Jews in Egypt , Iraq, Libya etc. -ie DISOLUTION So thats why the "world"doesnt like Lieberman. I like Lieberman. Not as my son in law but as one of the guardians of our state. I like him very much.Thank you Sir.
65. #59 - your word "suspect" says it all!
michael redbourn ,   Arad, Israel   (12.30.10)
The left wing controlled media and courts hated and still hate Lieberman and after all their efforts they have found nothing. I voted for him twice, not wanting him to become PM but hoping that he would bring some kind of balance to people such as Ehud Barak. Many of my friends thought that he was too extreme when I voted for him the first time. Less thought so the second time, and now many of them will vote for him next time.
66. Bibi firing Lieberman would be shooting himself..
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (12.30.10)
....in the foot. Lieberman would then be on the fast track to PM. Crappy article Dror...the smiley, smiley diplomatic age is gone, Dror. We need a proper leader who not only talks the talk..who also walks the walk. I think Lieberman and Bibi should switch roles. Bibi, with his superb English would make a great Foreign Minister and Lieberman with his 'cajones' a fine PM. Just a thought : )
67. 58 - you confusing strong with primitive.
Dave   (12.30.10)
Lieberman is not strong, Lieberman is primitive. Look the man is in office for 2 years, Israel has never been so despised, de legitimized isolated and ridiculed. If this what strong leader brings, please give us a weak but smart one.
68. What is the connection between liberman and real estate?
Avi ,   TA   (12.30.10)
location, location, location. You see, there is no argument Lieberman has balls, but when his balls are located where his brain should be, there is a problem....
69. Of course Lieberman not at fault, he is actually Bibis
Dave   (12.30.10)
creation. He is the perfect decoy Bibi is relaying on. You see if he had a likeable, reasonable, well respected and received FM he would have to coordinate and seek his approval in any foreign policy matter. Bibi knows Lieberman is an idiot. He knows he is persona non grata in most western and non western capitals. He has no say or influence in any of Israel foreign policy and that is how Bibi wants it. It assures him to be the de facto FM in addition to being the PM. The last thing Bibi will do is fire his perfect decoy.
70. #54 Mike. No real investigation takes 12 years.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.30.10)
The very idea of a 12 year long investigation is ludicrous. This is clearly a politically motivated fishing expedition by Lieberman's leftist adversaries seeking excuses to stop him. No real investigation takes 12 years. Israelis should demand an end to this farce.
71. Lieberman is a leftist
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (12.30.10)
What we really need is somebody from the right in the government. Under Bibi that won't happen.
72. 70 Ah Hah
Baruch Norman ,   Bet HaKerem   (12.30.10)
At last! Of course. How could we all have been so blind? It's the leftists - in the Israel Poilice Force, in the Likud party and Kadima and even those secret lefties in Yisrael Beitainu, and the leftist judges, and IDF generals and even those leftists settlers, they're all out to get Lieberman. He's been the focus of a leftist plot all his life lead by thyge arch leftists of all - Bibi. Poor man. And Yvet's got absolutely nothing to answer to, has he?
73. Lieberman
Alf Red, Londonistan ,   Israel   (12.30.10)
I've felt a real indignation when the Author made an insulting comparison of Lieberman with Mugabe. WHAT?! To compare Mugabe - the real follower of Communist ideas to the very end of last Zimbabvean - to THAT unspeakable Lieberman? NO! The only proper comparison might have been to Idi Amin Dada, because (as every real Leftie in Israel knows) Lieberman starts each morning by throwing little Arab kids-shaheeds to crocodiles, together with their Molotov milk-bottles, booby-belt panties and little rosey kisses of death.
