31. #29 Good old days
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (02.02.11)
When families stayed together Take a look at the present, girls do or don't get married, resullting in pregnancies they don't want When daddy married off his daughter, he used a Shadchan who did her best to determine that the couple would be compatabile I was talking about human relationships, not diseases prevalent in the old days There were no heart tranplants, cornea implants, stents, blood transfusions You must learn to think in modern terms, like staying away from smoking because it increases the chances of getting cancer
32. Good old days ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.02.11)
When families stayed together ? If they stayed together it's mostly because the women had nobody to talk to . Their mother ? was maybe in the same situation . The father ? your husband brings you flowers for Shabbat ? yes ? so no reason to complain . And so on . I knew a female Jewish doctor . She had many charidi women who still lived as in the "old days" , as patients . I said : those women look so happy . How wrong you are Charles . I'm the only person to whom they can talk , and many cry in my office . They "stayed together" but how ?
33. 32 Unhappy women look happy?
ORA ,   Jerusalem   (02.02.11)
I rather believe, the doctor was an unhappy woman. Orthodoxe women are not alone. They see each other, very often during the many Simhot, and have a nice time together. They do not need a doctor to talk. They cry in her office?Secular women, who don t receive flowers don t cry? One cannot base an image of a whole society,on what one unhappy doctor thinks.Let us ask the opinion of a happy orthodoxe woman. We will hear a whole other story. But why good OLD days?In the orthodoxe society we have good NOW days. And that is what i wish also to the secular society, and his great, but not always gentle promoter Charles from Petah Tikvah.
34. Well, I for one think it's funny
Talula ,   Israel   (02.02.11)
Why can't the rabbis just back off and get out of women's faces? What is with them and their need to control everything a woman does, eats, where to sit and how to dress. Don't these women understand they have voices - start speaking up ladies or you'll be trampled to death.
35. Talula , those women are already slaves
Charles ,   Petach Tiklva   (02.02.11)
and may not speak , only listen to "husbands" & rabbis . Their "job" is to have children , cook , work to feed the family . That's all they may do .
36. #35 And that's why I'm secular Charles
Talula ,   Israel   (02.02.11)
I like to wear the trousers. Men are purely an accessory for weddings, parties and company events – that’s all. Women don't need them for anything else - apart from, well, you know, the above and the obvious LOL!
37. #32 Charles - You can rationalize it
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (02.02.11)
any way you want, the fact still remians is that the family stayed together Nobody ever claimed that marriage was Utopian, if you can think of something better, package it and peddle it I guess you would be happier if people were miserable, like yourself
38. These worthy women would not marry...
ORA ,   Jerusalem   (02.02.11)
for no money in the world, secular men.
39.  SOS Charles
Yentele ,   Mea Shearim   (02.02.11)
40. Talula,obviously,the orthodoxe men...
(02.02.11)
are the best.
41. 35 Charles Haredi women Slaves?
ORA ,   Jerusalem   (02.02.11)
On this description you can have a patent, you invented it.
42. Talula , why not "mini shorts" ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.03.11)
They are very nice too when they fit the young girls . Thanks for the "esteem" you show for men [ LOL]
43. 37 , the miserable ben ....
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.03.11)
They stayed together , great !. But were they happy ? Today they stay together too , but are crying [ not all of them of course ] Your guess ? you think that everyone has your backwards ideas and bad life ?
44. #42 Oh come now Charles
Talula ,   Israel   (02.03.11)
I hold you in great esteem - most days. I do believe it was Kathleen Mifsud who once said: Men are like a fine wine. They all start out like grapes, and it's our job to stomp on them and keep them in the dark until they mature into something you'd like to have dinner with. Oh man she was right on the money!!
45. Talula , only for a dinner ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.03.11)
Kathleen was not 100 % correct , not all wines get better when maturing . I , of course , did'nt need to mature to have women wanting to have a dinner [ and something more ... ] with me . I like to cheat a little bit , but now , seriously , i appreciate you most times .
46. 44 Talula
ORA ,   Jerusalem   (02.04.11)
Are you talking about the macho type men? There are also many fine men with outstanding qualities who don t need these kind of treatment you suggested. These men ,very often unnoticed, are very discreet and shy with women. If a woman is clever enough to chose such a man and restore his selfesteem, she will have the best of the best.Good luck.
