The solution to poverty is to keep having more kids than you can afford to feed, and then get rid of them by marrying them off at 15? How about taking responsibility and either working to support yourself or not having zillions of kids?

They want to move a 15 year old girl into her husband's house so she isn't a burden on the family? If she's 15, how old is the man if he has his own house? That's like selling your daughter away to some old man.

If these Rabbis and Haredim didn't breed like rabbits, and could earn an HONEST living, they wouldn't need to "sell off" their daughters at such a young age to become "sex slaves" to horny religous men.

Better to have those girls of 16 at school , studying science , maths and so , to prepare them for higher education .

adolesence is an invention of the 20th century. prior to that, people went straight from childhood to adulthood. if you truely live in an environment where there is no adolescence then by all means marry at 14. if you don't then its a problem.

If they need to leave home, let them finish school and do voluntary work - there are so many places that need young people. A young marriage is not the answer! Let them become useful people in society - there is more than enough time to become a mother

Watch divorce rates skyrocket when these girls realize they were put on the path of destruction. Teenagers are still developing. They are figuring out which way to go. They are like the blind. Would you put an obstruction in the path of a blind person? If yes, then you are not a halachic Jew. Would you marry your young daughter off to an immature boy who has no clue that marriage is about giving? New York law, which is not controlled by rabbis or religion is as follows: 18 to marry; 16-17 marry with parents permission; 14-15 marry with a judge's permission. So whats all the fuss about?

I'm secular, but i do support everyone, regardless of how religious they are. This is where it stops. At 15, most girls are children, and should not be pressured into marriage, which would be de facto slavery. Israel is not Yemen.

I agree with you .One of my Haredi daughters has an important job,in a start-up enterprise ,the other is more artistic oriented and learns publicity.They all know that the parnassa will be on their shoulders.They are at school the whole day,and the time ,they are at home they help their mother.

I think rabbi is trying to help young people in special cases when instead of going to marriage they going to face jail. He want to help the young people. No one must to go marry in age of 15 , but if it neccessary, then why not?

I agree with moshe. If you do not see the lawlessness of Jewish boys and girls living together without legal marriage, then you have been corrupted too. There's a great Hillul HaShem for Jews to live in impure and profane relationships. It is time for you to start educating yourself in Jewish law, if you're Jewish.

My secular daughter is in her 20s, finished her army service, her university studies and lives at home. She has a job, helps out at home. The thought of forcing her or others into marriage at the ripe old age of 15 is just -- idiotic. It's a crime to make children get married before they have a profession, or are able to take care of themselves. But, it's soooo convenient to get rid of superfluous daughters by marrying them off early. Then they aren't the parent's responsibility anymore, only their husbands. And how old are the husbands going to be? 15 or 16 year old boys? How will they support their families? OH, I see... girls need to be married off to older men... How low can you go? Forget it, I don't even want to know.
