The seeds of a Palestinian state were started 20 years ago with Oslo. While a negotiated settlement has always been the preferred choice, neither side is willing or able to compromise enough to make that a reality. While a majority of countries worldwide are tired of this conflict, and think that unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state will magically end this conflict, they are sadly mistaken. A Jewish state will never be truly accepted in the region. Israel will have to remain strong to survive. But I do not see many alternatives left to Israel. The best recourse left is to welcome the establishment of a Palestinian state by decreeing that while all peace loving people may stay where they live, with national benefits from where they live, the citizenship of those not willing to pledge allegiance to Israel as a Jewish nation state shall have their citizenship transferred to the new Palestinian state. While this will not be acceptable to the Palestinians, this is what needs to be done, absent a negotiated agreement.
