32. What?! No sushi in Israel?!
Heather Czerniak ,   Mississauga, Canada   (03.16.11)
My husband and I and our kids are moving to Israel in June, and not for the sushi! Israel is our land and no shortage of a single delicacy will change our minds. Besides, Canadian beer is rather weak and we all hate poutine.
33. Now we have an outlay for what's ahead
Ypip ,   Canada   (03.16.11)
We'll manage the fault line with the mass transit system fairly quickly.

38. What a stupid article
dudu ,   IL   (03.17.11)
No one in Israel cares about Sushi for G-D's sake! We hope Japan recovers soon from this devastation. Japan – Your in our thoughts and prayers all the time. (it sounds like an article written by Palestinians not an Israeli… defaming Israel at its best)
39. Wtf is wrong with you people?
Dude ,   Amsterdam   (03.17.11)
I think I just lost my last shred of respect for Israel. What an article! Arrogant arses....
40. Crazy ass
Peter ,   Netherlands   (03.17.11)
@Meirav Crystal Is that all you can think off while people in Japan are fighting for their lives?
41. This is a joke, right?
Ergin Akif ,   New York   (03.17.11)
Don't you guys have illegal settlements to build somewhere instead of worrying about sushi? Amazing...
42. Sushi
Jaap ,   Utrecht, NL   (03.17.11)
What a utterly disgusting attitude to complain about the unavailability of Japanese products in this situation. Jews can only complain about things happening to them, they are always victims. Victims of the behaviour of others, of the attitude of others etc. And oh boy, don't say a word about what jews are doing to others, that is considered as antisemitism! Disgusting!
43. Joke?
Marco ,   Amsterdam   (03.17.11)
If this is a joke, it is in VERY poor taste. And IF IT IS a joke, do be aware, that this article is portrayed by the Dutch national broadcasting company as REAL. This will not make you look good...
44. c'mon, give em a break
Johann Grabner ,   Vienna, Austria   (03.17.11)
life goes on not only in Japan but also in the rest of the world. There are all sorts of impacts and this is one of them. Doesn't mean that they don't care, but just describing the situation how it is. In tech, a lot of worries about delays in semiconductor shipments are discussed. In banking, the rising Yen is a hot topic. So there is foodstuff also, interesting, nothing more.
45. US is worried as well
vadim   (03.17.11)
Israel is not alone in this tragedy. American brethren are also worried. http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2011/03/15/bay-area-sushi-bars-face-daunting-supply-shortages/ Bay Area Sushi Bars Face Daunting Supply Shortages SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) – Bay Area sushi bars and other restaurants that rely heavily on Japanese seafood are facing shipping delays and supply shortages following last week’s earthquake and tsunami. ======================= In the above, "earthquake and tsunami" is a link, so American readers can easily click and get familiar with those related topics as well.
46. this article is now the laughingstock of anti-semitic forums
ayelet678 ,   israel   (03.17.11)
47. disgusting
jay ,   USA   (03.17.11)
pathetic, just pathetic.
48. I can not believe it
Andres Garcia ,   Colombia   (03.17.11)
I quote: "While Japan continues to deal with the aftermath of last Friday's devastating earthquake and tsunami... Israelis fear a shortage in the ingredients of one of their favorite dishes". Are you serious? Is that the main Israeli fear abouth the tsunami disaster? Israel shouldn't complain later when the world doesn't want to hear its problems. It is not antisemitism, but its selfishness and disrespecfulness what is isolating Israel.
49. Meirav Crystal you are an idiot
Eli ,   Tel Aviv   (03.17.11)
Change the title already
50. embarrassing
fawaz ,   haifa, israel   (03.17.11)
This article is disgusting. Hundreds of thousands are homeless, tens of thousands are believed to be dead, and entire communities have been devastated. This article is offensive and should be retracted immediately.
51. What
Tom ,   LA, CA   (03.17.11)
Bunnie your an idiot. There are more than just Jews living in Israrl. Stupid american.
52. take this down now
gidon ,   ירושלים   (03.17.11)

53. Tasteless journalism
Bad Guy ,   Vancouver Canada   (03.17.11)
This writer should be fired...at very least change the stupid headline.
54. what is this??
sara ,   california   (03.17.11)
Thanks YNET for embarrassing Israelis around the globe and having to explain to our friends about how we are not all assholes. Please pull this article.
55. this is pitiful -- try another brand!!
Drew ,   Akron, Ohio   (03.17.11)
You spent 10 hours on the phone trying to talk to the Kikkoman factory?!? That is pitiful and hilarious in a twisted way. I'm sure they have more important things to think about. Anyway, there are tons of better brands of soy sauce. Kikkoman is one of the most chemical-tasting. If you can find Bragg's Liquid Aminos, it is the best kind I've found.
56. Kikkoman in Israel
Jen ,   Sydney, Australia   (03.19.11)
If Kikkoman sauce is used in 33% of Israeli households, why didn't Kikkoman think to build a factory in Israel to produce kosher soy sauces and other products? I am sure this would provide jobs for Israelis and help them build an export industry.
57. Disgusting
Peter ,   Toronto Canada   (03.19.11)
So is this article written to try and put the spotlight back on Israel, since the tragedy in Japan is consuming the world's attention? Are God's chosen people upset they are not the at the center of all of this attention?
58. How disgusting!
Truthseeker ,   uSA   (03.19.11)
While thousands have died and will die in Japan, while thousands of homes have been destroyed, while nuclear sickness may take many more lives, selfish Israelis are upset that they won't be able to get their sushi. Well, isn't that just too bad. This selfishness certainly reveals the kind of people that live in Israel who care more about what goes in their stomachs than the lives of suffering people. For shame.
59. TOTALLY AGREE
Rena ,   San Jose, USA   (03.20.11)
60. Way to go with the Hasbara
Alon ,   Ramat Hasharon   (03.20.11)
This piece of useless reporting is now featured on hundreds of worldwide news sites. Way to go Ynet with our foreign relations, we really needed this boost. Very smart of you...
