People who offer their best wishes to Marwan Barghouti are as morally retarded as those who pray at the gravesites of Baruch Goldstein and Eden Natan-Zada. Hopefully, when you grow up you'll understand that.

A Tale of Love and Darkness is one of the best books that I have ever read. I read it in English. Amos Oz is a truly great Israeli whom I believe deserves the Nobel Prize for this wonderful book. However I do not believe that he in any way approves of Marwan Barghouti. He probably just want him to have a better understanding of Israel and her people.

He was offering/challenging MB to understand us, as Israelis, as Jews in this Land. ""This story is our story. I hope you read it and understand us better"

To read somebody who needs to praise a terrorist , a killer or the mastermind of killers of his own fellow Israelies in order to be politically correct to attract these new "intellectuals" so as to buy more of his books. Really Amoz, I feel pity for you!!

Well, it appears that the only ones falling in love with these criminals are men, because women have already overcame them! Well it took sometime, many generations to increase our self -steem and realize we do not need these type of men to be. I think that men as Amos Oz, has a particularly fondness on these type of craps.

Oz is a samaritarian with all the political intention

When peace will come , in 10 , 20 or 50 years , this will be made with TODAYS ENEMIES . You don't make peace with friends , there is no need for , because you live in peace with them . An example is France that has now very good relations with her former arch enemy , Germany . Or the USA and Japan .

I vehemently disagree with Oz dedicating a book to Murderer Barghouti, but I profoundly admire his lyrical memoir--"A Tale of Love and Darkness". Despite disagreements I have with some of Oz's politics, he's a brilliant writer--and he is also still a Zionist. Among other things, the book poignantly describes the suffering of the Jews in besieged Jerusalem in 1948 (which Oz experienced as a boy) and the justice and longing for Jewish independence in our historic homeland. He also points out how although some Arabs became refugees in 1948-49, all Jews were expelled from areas of the British mandate "Palestine" taken by the Jordanian army. Maybe that is the point in Murderer Barghouti reading the book, although I thjnk Oz is naive to think it will influence him for the better.

All those who are frothing at the mouth,have little to no understanding of M.E dynamics.While now Barghouti Is serving a life sentence,he Is treated extremely well by Israeli authorities,past and present,because they too understand that one day he will be very useful to Israel,as a calming and moderate leader.You don't need to like the man but don't be close minded to his usefulness to Israel and the Palestinians.
