We are only saying that because of the existence of the State of Israel , no other such a crime is possible . We don't say : becasuse of the Holocaust , we have the right to do this or that . Anti Israelis say that we think that because of the Holocaust we think that we are allowed to .... But everythiong we do is ONLY to defend ourselve and to live in peace in our since thousands of years home .

Then after the six days war , they were admirative for this little "david" who had won this war against the "powerfull goliat" , they were admirative . But , now as they see that we are a strong country [ even with xtian missionaries as you are ] they don't like us anymore . They can't accept that Jews are strong , this after all those centuries of where we were "weak" . Nothing to do with religion , don't try to sell your xtianity to us , 100 % Jews

It is true that Europeans admired Israel being 'little David'. The problem is that Israel until the 1970s was completely over-idealised (at least by the 'children generation' in Germany), being a country full of Einsteins and Anne Franks with shouldered Uzis, fighting against all their enemies AND having the highest moral standards because of all the suffering they went through. With time it turned out that this picture was distorted and Israelis are normal people with all the failings included. The realisation of this quite often led to an abstruse form of disappointment, especially amongst the political left, and exaggerated idealisation turned into exaggerated antipathy towards Israel. As a result, many of the left have somehow changed the side and are now idealising the Palestinians as 'little Davids'.

I don't think that Israel was "over idealised" untill the 70's . Having lived most of my life in Western Europe , even in Germany as a member of the "allied occupation forces" , i did'nt met many non Jews who were well informed about the situation here , and not many heard about Anne Frank then . The Europeans admirred Israel , yes , and supported her . But now as we are the "goliath" the left does not support us anymore . Also because of the weakness of the Israeli left , that lost most of it's power . It's not because of our sufferings that we have those high moral standards , but because we always preferted and choose life above dfeath . This preference of life is even present in the religious laws thatr say that to save a life you MUST even transgress religious laws . People in Europe are , as always , badly informed . They see Israelis only as settlers , occupiers and so .

People who hate muslims frequently tend to hate Jews . You wrote . I can't agree . They hate muslims because of FEAR . They fear their violence . This is what i have heard from elderly women living in a today muslim neighborhood , that was , before WWII , the Jewish neighborhood . That's what i have heard from Gentile friends who were very tolerant towards others . Not such a fear from Jews . Wilders , the "vlaams belang" , the "front National" , exploit this fear , exploit the feelings the " local " populations have towards those muslims .

that is exactly my point- worthless. A poll about using toothpaste or catfood is not the same as asking someone a leading question about anti- anything. Yes or no questions are suspicious.

Of course one shouldn't generalise and some people in Europe have good reasons to fear Muslims because of violence in their neighbourhoods. But quite often the fear of Muslims is rather irrational. In Germany e.g. the right wing party is strongest in East-Germany where almost no immigrants live, and weakest in West-Germany that is partly full of Muslims. It's this irrationality that connects people hating Muslims with people hating Jews, because Anti-Semitism is also irrational. An even better example is Poland, where almost no Jews and no Muslims live. Still, with regard to the poll, 50% of the Poles say that Jews have too much influence in their country and 47% say that there are too many Muslims in Poland. Both have absolutely nothing to do with reality and I think that it's the same 'type of people' who claim this.

I admit that my talkback #64 does not base on own experiences because I wasn't born back then. But that's what 'people say' and it's also based on a very good essay of Amos Oz called 'Israel and Germany'.

You certainly know that right wing parties are generally racists too . This even when there are almost no "others" in their region . That for Eastern Germany [ why they are so right wing is another question , is maybe related as a reaction after years of communism ] In Poland the Catholic church has still a big influence , maybe a reason for this racism . [ other countries where the church has a big influence , Italy and Spain , have an other "culture" ] Amos Oz , a great writer , is a very "leftist" person . You have to be cautious with his analysis .

How? How the Poles are "profitting off Katyn"? Do the Poles demand billions of dollars of compenations from Russia? Do the Poles create organisations, aiming to "inherit" from those officers murdered in Katyn, who had not left any legal heirs?

sense.The world was expecting from Israel to be the light among the nations,and being deceived, changed from admirative to hate. But this will change, i hope very soon,when Israel will understand that they have to follow the Tora laws,to fulfill their mission in the world.
