jake ,   Israel   (04.07.11)
A literal reading of the Torah will make u ask the questions of #66. I suggest u study in a Yeshiva if u r serious as to what is and is not permissible to do. Otherwise, your "learned" statements are as ridiculous as you are.
92. I BEG YOUR PARDON?
SETTHERECORDSTRAIGHT   (04.07.11)
"...we can free our souls of the horror of the gentiles, just like we freed ourselves before the Exodus." I DIDN'T KNOW THAT WE FREED OURSELVES. I THOUGHT HASHEM FREED US.
93. #91...huh? cough...hack.....what u talking about bubba?
Le' Faux Jew ,   US   (04.07.11)
You either believe the Holy Scriptures my prophets or you don't believe and have to rely on your own interpretations. The creator never commanded it. You can try to clean up sacrifices, but its still pagan. 21 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Add your burnt-offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat ye flesh. כב כִּי לֹא-דִבַּרְתִּי אֶת-אֲבוֹתֵיכֶם, וְלֹא צִוִּיתִים, בְּיוֹם הוציא (הוֹצִיאִי) אוֹתָם, מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם--עַל-דִּבְרֵי עוֹלָה, וָזָבַח. 22 For I spoke not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt-offerings or sacrifices;

Was a appropriate red heffer found? This is just one more item which leads to the soon return of Messiah Yeshua.
96. Rabbi calls for sacrifice on Temple Mount
Adonaijah ,   Ohio, USA   (04.07.11)
In india the cult of kali sacrifices humans, followers of santeria sacrifice goats and chickens, no one complains about that. Why can't a Jew sacrifice an animal once a year at passover? There is always a double standard.
97. This is rich
Walter ,   Chilliwack   (04.07.11)
I find this topic so beautiful. People from all over the world talking about the merits of Temple sacrifices. It is my understanding that the passover sacrifice had two functions; to remember the deliverance out of Egypt and to look forward to the ultimate sacrifice and deliverance when King David's Lord would become the servant king as fortold in Isaiah. As I see it Jeshua fulfilled these prophecies when He inserted Himself into the "Palm Sunday Parade" where the High Priest was bringing the sacrificial lamb up from Bethlehem and all that happened subsequent to that. The High Priest was unable to stop Jeshua then. This same Jeshua predicted that the sacrifices would happen again and nobody will be able to stop them now. What sends a chill down my spine is the compromise that will have to be made to allow well meaning Jews to sacrifice on the Temple mount. Read Matthews 24.
98. Praise God
Michael ,   Jeffersonville USA   (04.07.11)
as David said 'who are these uncircumcised Philistines...Who dares stand against the armies of Jehovah!' I am all for Isreal doing what God told them to do! God did not change we did.
99. "For I spoke not unto your fathers..."
Nicole Czarnecki ,   B'HaGalut   (04.08.11)
That was referring to sacrificing to Moloch. Meanwhile, the Beit HaKodesh would have to be rebuilt first.
100. #14 Even if I agree I should shut up?
Miryam ,   US   (04.08.11)
I agree with you, and I am from the US and a "goy." Kosher living and kosher kill at death are the only humane way to treat animals. How hard is it really to kill an animal humanely? Not very! People just don' t know how or are too lazy to learn.
101. Response to #87
Yehuda ,   אשדוד   (04.08.11)
Sorry, but the Talmud in Pesachim defines far away as not on the Temple Mount. And that is how the Rambam rules.
102. passover sacrifice
Brent ,   Carlsbad, NM   (04.08.11)
I think God's chosen people should practice this sacred ritual on the temple mount as they did before the mount was trampled by the gentiles. They should not be deterred by the opinions of the UN and especially not by the animal rights activists. No amount of concessions that they have made have generated an iota of difference in the anti-Semitism that pervades the UN. Mahmoud Ahmidinahjad and his surrogates, Hezbollah and Hamas have the stated goal of the genocide of the Jewish people. The Jews should serve God and defend themselves like they did during the rebuilding of the temple recorded in Ezra.
103. Sacrifice on the Mount
eloise lanum ,   Half Moon Bay, Calif   (04.09.11)
Yeah - Israel is SO not ready for prime time. (civilization as it is). Is this a "Back to the Future" movie?
104. we cannot
Joshua ,   KCMO   (04.09.11)
truly obey God without the Temple but any attempt to build the Temple without God is destined for failure and there is no where else that may used for sacrifices as far as I have seen in the Torah, so yes I agree we must build the Temple, but that has to happen for sacrifice to occur. However, it wasn't "ourselves" but God who brought freedom from slavery in Egypt
105. to #60 re: blood
Dan ,   T-Neck   (04.09.11)
the verse you quote (lev 17:11) says that the soul of the animal is in the blood and therefore the spilling of blood via the sacrifice can be used to atone (not -- not blood per se, but blood as the effect of sacrifice and marker of the escape of the soul). Animal sacrifice was one means of achieving atonement for a limited group of sins but it was by no means the exclusive way nor the way for all sins. To say that blood provides atonement is a grievous and intellectually dishonest reduction of the facts. Check lev 5:11 for more info.
106. Tum'ah
Dan ,   T-Neck   (04.09.11)
I thought that our tumas mes would preclude this. The article seems to say that that isn't an issue. I'd appreciate someone's explaining why.

Jesus said those who do not believe as a child will have no place in the Kingdom. So faiath always comes first.
108. Sacrifice & Circumcision
downtown dave ,   Heber Springs USA   (04.09.11)
Sacrifice: Hebrews 10:11,12 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this priest (Jesus) had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. Circumcision: Romans 2:28,29 A man is not a Jew if he is only one inwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man's praise is not from men, but from God.
109. Radical Muslems
Mort Stepp ,   Groesbeck USA   (04.09.11)
I am not a Jewish by faith, I am a strong southern Baptist, but I am tired of hearing of the Muslim posturing about things when they don't get their way. I love our Holy Bible, but I certainly not go and protest they have done. They are a pagan religion and many American do not realize that Allah and our God and not the same, even though the Muslims try to give the impression they are. Definitely when Jesus returrn he will not be an assistant of any kind to the Imman, Mohammad or any other pagan diety. I personally believe their should be a pre-emptive stirke on Iran and take out all of their nuclear facilities. Israel has every right to their homeland and in fact has given up too much of their homeland. I am an Israeli support. May God bless the Israeli people. Mort Stepp
110. sacrifice
NicklasArthur ,   californiaUSA   (04.10.11)
animals are sacrificed every day - I eat meat every day - the passover is to be eaten - let him who is without sin cast the first stones at MacDonalds
111. #110...sacrificial ritual of which you speak ;
Le' Fuax Jew ,   US   (04.10.11)
comes from the Dipolieia, which was a guilt or concious easing by hunters for killing living creatures.
112. #108....Roman christians have different understandings;
Le' Faux Jew ,   Us   (04.10.11)
Roman christians particularly held views on sacrifice of Jesus in a literal blood sacrifice (Eucharist is baed upon it)...or as a pagan type appeasement. To them, they see Jesus as an actual "lamb of God" or passover replacement, instead of the Aramaic understanding of the word talya, which literally meant "lamb", and had the simple meaning of "male child". In other words....Gods child or "kid"....not a passover animal lamb.
113. #44 you proved my point-
TzVi ,   NY   (04.11.11)
Your not interested in actually following Halacha, but want to make excuses. You asked for Halachic authority- and I showed you one (and the reference where this exact Halacha is discussed in details). You didn't even bother listening, just defamed a leading Rav.
114. Saccrifice is NOT cruelty
Ruchamah ,   US   (04.11.11)
So, Adam and Chavah were clothed with skins...Did Hashem use roadkill?
115. Temple Mount Sacrifice
Linda Redondo ,   North Hills USA   (04.12.11)
The problem with restoring the passover sacrifices (or any sacrifices) is that God required the Levitical Priesthood and ONLY the Levitical Priesthood to offer the sacrifices. Today this is not possible because there are no records of genealogy. So be afraid. Be very afraid!
116. Rabbi calls for sacrifice on Temple Mount
Bonny Lee Michaelson ,   Denver, USA   (04.13.11)
Isaiah 1:11-17 11. Of what use are your many sacrifices to Me? says the Lord. I am sated with the burnt-offerings of rams and the fat of fattened cattle; and the blood of bulls and sheep and hegoats I do not want. יא. 12. When you come to appear before Me, who requested this of you, to trample My courts? יב. 13. You shall no longer bring vain meal-offerings, it is smoke of abomination to Me; New Moons and Sabbaths, calling convocations, I cannot [bear] iniquity with assembly. יג. 14. Your New Moons and your appointed seasons My soul hates, they are a burden to Me; I am weary of bearing [them]. יד. 15. And when you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you, even when you pray at length, I do not hear; your hands are full of blood. טו. 16. Wash, cleanse yourselves, remove the evil of your deeds from before My eyes, cease to do evil. טז. 17. Learn to do good, seek justice, strengthen the robbed, perform justice for the orphan, plead the case of the widow.
117. The retarded Jewish God and his thirst for sacrifaces...
Edithann ,   US   (04.14.11)
Doesn't your God realize those days are over and have been for over 2500 years? Do you think your God might have some serious problems? Like he's 'retarded'? What kind of 'retard' are you all worshiping, or are you all retarded also? Hmmm interesting don't you think? TATA
118. Cease Non-committment with G-d encounter!
Rich ,   California, USA   (04.16.11)
I love G-d and, yes, Jesus Christ! We Christians suffer a very similar problem - when we don't experience G-d we grow cold, distant and uncommited. But group or individual encounters with G-d usually relights our fires of love for H-m. Forgive me for not writing with adequate honor for our G-d. Let's all seek passionately to encounter G-d for revival, renewal, restoration and for courage to serve G-d with all our hearts and soul. I am with you in your holy endeavors!

120. Response to #95
Anne ,   Wash. USA   (04.29.11)
David, you bring up a good point. Recently my husband and I finished reading an informative book titled, "The New Temple and the Second Coming" by Grant R. Jeffrey. According to this author's research, "Israel's religious leaders authorized a team to locate and raise a breed of pure-red cattle. Appropriate cattle were found in Finland and the United States. Once they choose a red heifer without any blemishes, they will sacrifice it on the Mount of Olives opposite the Eastern Gate." (etc., etc.) pages 114-120. A most interesting read if you wish to know what the Temple Institute and other organizations are doing to prepare for building the Third Temple.
