I am going with the official NATO casualty reports and I am also disinclined to include deaths that result from Arab on Arab violence. I understand that the true number of civilian casualties are far in excess of what NATO is claiming, but I will only use the numbers that can be reliably documented. Using the real civilian casualty figures from Iraq, Afghanistan and Waziristan only serves to buttress the care that Israel takes in conducting its operations, but I cannot find reliable documentation for those numbers, so I will not use them. I do know that they have been reported to be in excess of one million, though. Thank you, though. Jews have an ancient history in the places you call "occupied" going back 1500 years before Islam: western wall, Bethlehem, Jericho. My opinion is that a peaceful future begins with acknowledging a shared history and then making difficult sacrifices for a better future. The rules of war only apply nation-state vs. nation-state. An organization I belong to, Christians United for Israel has donated $$ to build shelters in Sderot. I went to Israel previously and even then was so heartened by the Israeli citizens because they are not bitter at the Muslims that are daily trying to kill them. It is an amazing thing that they are such positive delightful people, but I think that comes from their Jewish beliefs whether they are religious or not it does give them a positive way of life and I am so happy Christianity has inherited that from Judaism. As I have written before, it must be a dreadful way of life to believe it is right and just to be able to slaughter others indescriminately.
