2. EXCELLENT! - Thank you for playing into Israel's hands
William ,   Israel   (05.26.11)
Now that you have an option to sail to Al-Arish and drop off your expired goods there, even though Ashdod was already available to you and used by the UN all the time, there is no excuse to try and sail into Gaza. Technically, there is no blockade with the open border, and there never was a humanitarian crisis.... which means two things: 1) the flotilla actions are ONLY for provocation and shows the weak underbelly of the "activists" argument on Gaza, 2) because these ceases to be a "humanitarian" mission, it can legally be deemed a military mission due to the legal war-time blockade of Gaza by sea and air - and that makes you POWs when arrested, not "humanitarian activists". Who will this hurt? Well, now that you lost your civilian status, the countries who supported your ill-intended actions.... and we in Israel thank you for your racist stupidity.

4. Perfect proof
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.26.11)
.. that the purpose of the flotilla has absolutely nothing to do with "humanitarian aid," and everything to do with deliberate provocation. There is no NEED for a flotilla; Egypt is going to open the Rafah crossing. Given that, I doubt very highly that journalists from all over the world and/or dozens of European parliament members will participate. Well, the smart ones will not. The suicidal ones probably will.

Just stated that there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The supermarkets have plenty of food on the shelves, they have nice beaches and restaurants..... So why the provocation?
8. The Gaza Flotilla
Edward ,   Savannah, USA   (05.26.11)
Israel better get a running start on this and declare in the U.N. that this is provacation that will NOT be tolerated!!! To try and run a legal military blockade is a war crime, and the ships need to be sunk, OR the people need to captured and tried as war criminals. If there is a trial, send them to gitmo so obamafraud can visit his relatives!!!

Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (05.26.11)
Israel has not lifted its blockade of the Gaza Strip, but continues to do everything to sabotage social and economic life there. Under the Oslo Accords Gaza's fishermen were granted the right to fish within a zone of 20 nautical miles from the shore. In 2002 Israel reduced the fishing zone to 12 nautical miles and in October 2006 it was reduced to six nautical miles, this after the cynical announcement by Sharon's advisor Dov Weisglass that the Palestinians in Gaza would be "put on a diet". In January 2009, following Israel's assault on the Gaza Strip the fishing zone was cut to three nautical miles. This has led to a severe reduction in catches. The fish caught are very small and stocks are not being replenished. Fish protein is an important part of the diet for the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip, but Israeli navy vessels are assaulting Gaza's fishermen damaging their boats and even cowardly killing fishermen, in a bid to stop them from having decent catches. In order for Gaza's export of citrus fruits, flowers, textiles to flourish the seaport in Gaza, which the Netherlands began to build needs to be completed. Israel's ongoing illegal blockade is designed to make life of the Gazans miserable and to sabotage the economy of Gaza in order to frustrate any meaningful form of Palestinian freedom and self determination. Zionist propagandists like you always blame the Palestinians for holding up their hands to the international community. Palestinians, want to look after themselves. They can feed themselves and export their produce, but Israel is trying to frustrate Palestinian self determination at any point. The Israeli blockade must be broken. That is why ongoing flotillas must continue to come to Gaza to highlight Israel's shameful blockade.

Bullet proof vests? Against a missile or a torpedo? LOL!!! Helmets -- now that's a good idea. The terrorist slime will sink much faster.
18. To: John at No. 11
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.26.11)
A cruise missile for a cruise ship carrying no humanitarian aid? Nothing satirical about it; that is precisely what Israel will do if the flotilla attempts to breach Israel's fully-legal and internationally recognized naval embargo of Gaza. No need to risk Israeli lives.
19. Hypocrisy, provocation. and anti-Semitism
john   (05.26.11)
Will they still be sailing from occupied cyprus? Will they still be sailing despite the Rafah crossing being open? Why do these flotillas not head to Port Said in Sudan where 250,000 people are dead in the Islamic Republic of the Sudan? Hypocrisy, provocation. and anti-Semitism
20. #9 split
Madeleine ,   Rehovot Israel   (05.26.11)
Hey Split, why dont you get off your anti-Israel, hate-filled backside and join them? Ah, I get it - too comfortable where you are and scared silly of being involved in anything like confrontation. Oviously your beliefs are watered-down apologies for getting up and acting on them.
21. #8 split/shizo/wes
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (05.26.11)
Always the instigator and onlooker, never a participant Reserve a seat; you have plenty of time to book one So far the “courage” (LOL) of your convictions is shielded by your computer One thing is certain, if any of the ships are sailing vessels and there's a lull in the wind, you have enough wind of your own to supply the fleet
22. #13 BEN ALOFS
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (05.26.11)
Kepe in mind, we're living in a modern age, it's quite easy to detect when someone is serving baloney, as you are How very convenient, you quote "Oslo Accords when it suits you and totally ignore them when it doesn't According to Oslo, Arafat had agreed to remove the paragraph from the PLO Charter that called for the destruction of Israel I have a News Flash for you; it's still there after all these years It takes to two to Tango, start doing your share of the dancing Karin A & Santorini, were among boats posing as innocent vessels, which found to contain arms Here are a few more violations, digest them: There are so many of them, it isn’t practical to copy & paste, so here’s the link, chew on the facts http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/Archive/Peace+Process/1996/MAJOR%20PLO%20VIOLATIONS%20OF%20THE%20OSLO%20ACCORDS%20-%2025-Oct-

FREEDOM FIGHTER ,   ERETZ-ALL OF IT   (05.26.11)
Israel is under no obligation to aid and abet any political entity whose main purpose, and well-known and stated goal is the destruction of the Jewish state. That Herr Doktor, is the root of the entire problem.—The so-called Hamas Charter in other words—a document, and a military-political programmatic approach to destroying Israelis and Jews "wherever they find them."... a modus vivendi which you obviously endorse. Die wahrheit ya? Furthermore, If you cannot come to terms with the success of Israel in its ability to defend its citizens, you have many options to fight back, including typing half truths, lies and prevarications on open threads such as this one, or you can stand up for your principles and join your compatriots and fellow travelers in Gaza. Be very careful though, as it seems there is a growing trend these days, among certain Gazan gangs, for killing do-gooders and useful idiots like thou. Sort of like biting the hand or cutting one's own nose...I am sure you understand. Must be the quality of the hashish they smuggle under the noses of the Egyptians or some such mental health related issue. Sounds like a symptom for the International Red Cross to investigate.
27. Nick #14
John Robey ,   Austin Texas   (05.26.11)
Your "sink them they will get the point" reminds me a lot of the mind set of the rabid segregationists in the South who thought if we just kill a few of these freedom riders--"outside agitators"--- (some of whom were Jewish) they will get the point. You are very enlightened sir and a wonderful example of why Israel is so well loved in the world!

29. To: Stephen at No. 24
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.26.11)
You had it about right; the poster at No. 12 is nothing more than a despicable hypocrite. He is also evidently unaware that according to the World Health Organization, the most serious medical problem in all of Gaza is obesity -- this, although he claims to be a physician. He is a rabid Jew-hater and anti-Zionist and he has no moral compass. Just ignore him -- he is scarcely worth your ire.
