Does anybody know what the Torah says about treatment of prisoners? I don't and that sounds like a topic that would take a while to research. But the rational thing to do in Israel is to follow the Torah. This is only peripherally related: Why do you not have a death penalty for murder? If you have a Good Reason, then I'll leave that alone, but absent a compelling reason, I would strongly advise restoring the death penalty soonest.
