Please! Israel is only country in the region with a free press. Every newspaper has open access to the world public. Some of the most antisemitic stuff I've ever read was written in response posts, to articles in the papers here in Israel. No kid deserves to die for their opinions, and certainly Israel would never respond in such a way. Kids only know what their taught by their elders, just because they dropped the ball would be no reason to kill anyone. For instance killing 54 people worldwide because of cartoons would never happen in Israel. But we know who does that, don't we? I want to sincere my condolences to the victims and their families. I wish a speedy and complete recovery to the wounded. The Norwegian government, media and churches have for many years been propagating hatred of Israel and the Jewish people. Wow. What an intellectual camp. My children play tennis, go swimming and horseback riding, and I don't even want to think about what they probably discuss. While I was looking around the web about the killer I found an interview of his father who was apologizing for his sons actions. He was estranged from his Son for the last 16 years, according to this article. What I found interesting is his father was a diplomat with the Norwegian government and part of the Social-Democratic party. The current President is in the Social-Democratic party, and the youth camp was affiliated with this political party. What all that means, if anything, remains to be seen. Just something that I noticed while reading about this guy. Whether it had anything to do with his targeting selection, who knows? I send my ids to camp too, but they go canoeing,repelling, things like that.

Oh, I know. Camp is supposed to be all about fun things to do. I am the child of concentration camp survivors. Rather a long time ago, when I was eight and my older sister was ten, we overheard our parents talking about sending us to camp. We hid in a closet because, growing up in my home, we knew precisely what a camp was. Anyway .... we went. It was called Camp Juniper, in the Catskills, and I don't know if I ever enjoyed a better summer. Mom and Dad (z"l; both are gone now) did right by us. They sent three girls to the Ivy Leagues; two to medical school and one to law school. I have far more money than my parents ever had; I can only hope that I can give my children what my parents managed to give to me.
