31. A little compressed but true!!!
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (07.28.11)
I am missing the San Remo Conference 1920 and the Treaty of Lausanne 1923, which in fact clearly confirm what the video says! Even more, the legal successor of the failed Ottoman Empire, Turkey back in 1923 accepted the build of a Jewish state on the territory of so called Palestine. The Arab resistance to the declared will of the League of Nations lead to the situation, that the British mandate power tried to appease the Arabs and introduced the Partition Plan. If I watch this plan today I instantly say: "This will never work!" And exactly this happened. It didn|t work. The Arabs didn't accept the plan, thus turning it null and void! The fact, that France and the UK didn't engage in the conflict and didn't force Transjordan to give back CISJordan can only be explained that they were fed up and just didn't want to get involved into this mess any more. This doesn't mean that the annex of CISJordan by Transjordan was legal in any respect. instead it was a clear breach of intl. law! According to the video, this wouldn't be so clear if Israel would annex it, since Samaria and Judea are Jewish heart land! I fear for the stateless Arabs, that time is running out and they may find no partner for negotiations about these lands. Don't forget: Only 33% of the land in the West Bank have been registered by anybody until 1968 when the register was closed. And also don't forget, that there also were Jewish citizens, who owned property in the West Bank until they were displaced by the Transjordan soldatesca, the Synagogues were burned, the Jewish neighborhoods were torn down and the gravestones from Jewish cemeteries were used to pave the roads. Don't forget this! And also don't forget, that Arab countries still didn't compensate Israel for their aggression, for the damages they caused to Israel during the wars they caused and lost! They didn't compensate for the ethnic cleansing which lead to the displacement of nearly a million Jews in the years between 1948 and the early seventies, when the Arabs made their territories nearly free of Jews. The Arab countries have enough territory to give these stateless Arabs in the West Bank and Gaza a new home.
32. in time WE!! ISRAEL!! The JEWS will PREVAIL!!!

33. The advertisement ynet put in this page is quite ironic.
Tahl   (07.28.11)
Clicking in the ad called "West Bank Palestine Tours" brings you to a site of a tour company called Green Olive Tours. Clicking on the "about" link, brings forth the following mission statement: "Green Olive Tours is a social enterprise tour agency providing tours that are informative and analytical, covering the history, culture, and political geography of Palestine (West Bank) and Israel." Of course, calling these disputed territories as "Palestine (West Bank)" and making the distinction between them and Israel, is the exact antithesis of the video shown here. Which makes one wonder two things: One - did the editors do this on purpose? And two - what is the point of disseminating Ayalon's video abroad, if even in Israel, people (like these Green Olive Tours operators) are supporting these exact historical distortions the video aims to dispell? Isn't it even more important, to start the education at home?
34. Answers to #10, 12, 17 - mods, please publish this.
John ,   USA   (07.28.11)
I believe I am entitled to answer? 1) To all 3 commentaries. - In case you didn't know, Britain recognized the annexation in April 1950. It was then followed by USA, same year. For Britain and consequently UN: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:UKrecognizesIsraelJordan.pdf For USA: Please, see it yourself on the following link. I also point out that this site has .edu suffix (which is somehow credibility) http://digicoll.library.wisc.edu/cgi-bin/FRUS/FRUS-idx?type=turn&entity=FRUS.FRUS1950v05.p0943&id=FRUS.FRUS1950v05&isize=M I must apologize for Wikipedia link, but it was the easiest way. I have the document in hard copy, but don't have scanner near by. So I found the copy here. So, let's remember that the most important factor DID recognize it - Britain. According to the old laws of occupation, that gave French and Britain power over Levant, it was in 1950. still Britain to ask weather they recognize it or not. They did - so that's it. 2) Particular answers #10, YISRAELI - the fact that they did not give freedom of worship or that they used Jewish headstones for roads does not have anything to do with the annexation. Maybe with their barbarism yes, but with legality - no. #17, Mark - I don't see what the facts about extermination and well known Amin Al Huseini - Hitler relationship has to do with the subject? And finally, #12 Sarah - I put you for last, cause your answer is most consistent one and I feel you deserve the thorough approach: - Ironically, the recognition of Pakistan is dubious. You might check the wording there, in that document. Most entertaining. :) - Since Britain accepted the annexation, they accepted the Citizenship Law. You wrote all true here - except that, according to the international law, one can CEDE the citizenship. Even if one live in Arab country. :) - Unfortunately, when you ANNEX something, you make that territory your own territory and the people there become part of the whole sovereign. Therefor, Israel is NOT free to keep, settle or annex the West Bank. - I am not certain that there will be annexation of West Bank by Israel. I think that you will be very (unpleasantly) surprised about what's coming. May I point out that on the last AIPAC annual meeting Clinton said directly that they are for 2 states, Palestinian and Israeli? Now, if you consider this "stupidity", tell me when was the last time that a foreign secretary of Israel's greatest ally stood in front of its most powerful representatives and told in their faces that their policy will not be implemented? So, dear Sarah, more detailed research, not only the briefings on popular sites. :)
35. Excellent! Now we can keep on dominate the palestinians

36. Israeli PR vs Arabic
Jerry ,   USA   (07.28.11)
For far too long, Islamic PR has done a better job than Israeli, even while they were telling lies. Maybe, just maybe, the government is waking up to that fact.
37. An inconvenient truth for the Arabs
Danny ,   Albany, USA   (07.28.11)
With this video and Efraim Karsh's documented analysis in Palestine Betrayed, the momentum for correcting the Arab propaganda and revisionist history will increase !!! Way overdue !!!
38. Ayalon and Lieberman doing a great job!
Moish ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.28.11)
Actually the job of the foreign ministry is to present Israel's case to the world and the foreign press, and is not as you wish, to just suck up to countries (who by the way are intent on bashing Israel no matter what we do like Turkey whose govt. funded the IHH flotilla terrorists). Your logic is seriously flawed. Thank God most Israelis support Ayalon and Lieberman, we have enough leftist lemmings willing to jump off cliffs, we don't need to join you. :)
39. "Occupied Territories"
Samuel ,   Israel   (07.28.11)
Wow! finally these lies have been exposed.Whew!!! I have written a number of times to the esteemed newspaper "The Jerusalem Post" & of course Y-Net on this issue but nobody cares a hoot.I am a man of 71 years who has witnessed the tense situation in Israel before, during, & after the Six Day War. My blood boils & my blood pressure rises every time I hear the lies & the word "Occupied Territories.Hats of to our Deputy FM Danny Ayalon's eye-opener speech(Video) to the rest of the world.
40. TRUTH. PEACE. LOVE
Israeli Kitten ,   ISRAEL   (07.28.11)
this is what israel is all about. stop defaming us please. and using lies and bycotts to do it! may you also have better days wherever you live!
41. So the Whole World is wrong and Mr. Aylon
A Bethlehemite   (07.28.11)
and his supporters are the only ones right. Common, the world voted that the occupied territories are Palestinian occupied territories including E. J'lem and the 4th Geneva convention applies to those territories (transferring settlers from Israel to the W.B. /E. J'lem illegal). Nothing is disputed worldwide as No Nation in the world recognizes the W.B. including E. J'lem and Gaza as part of Israel. And if Israel annexes the WB, it will have to nationalize the Palis to become Israelis.
42. If there was no Palestine why do we see all old advertisIng
Abdalla   (07.28.11)
To Jews going to Palestine

Balfour's declaration had indeed no legal value. By voting the "Mandate for Palestine" the 24th of July 1922, in an unanimous vote by all its 51 members, this vote became International Law. The "Mandate for Palestine" quotes in its Preamble: "Whereas recognition has thereby been given to the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country...". Some people, even Jews, pretend till today, that a national home, as expressed in the League's resolution, is not a State. Well, this is false ! The Jewish national home, together with Syria and Irak, belonged to the "A Class Mandates", countries considered as mature to become independent states, but for a Mandatory "to go a bit of the way with them till than". By voting the "Mandate for Palestine", the League of Nations gave the Jews the irrevocable right to settle anywere in the area between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, a right unaltered in Internationl Law, and valid to this day, due to Article 80 of the Charter of the Uited Nations. Please read articles about this subject, written by Prof. Eugene Rostow, Dean of the School of Law at Yale, and the auther of UN Resolution 242, that became, and still is, the cornerstone for diplomacy in the Middle-East. Everything is available on Internet. Most important article is "The Future of Palestine", a real must.
44. # 42 Abdalla
Jules   (07.28.11)
"Palestine" is GEOGRAPHICAL name of this region, given by Romans. There was never a COUNTRY named "Palestine". See the difference ?
45. #42
Non-Jew ,   England   (07.28.11)
Because paletstine was only a name for a region, it was never ther name of a nation ofr country, because it never was a country. Seeing a picture saying 'Jews going to Palestine' is littel different than seeing one saying 'Arabs going to Sahara'!
46. Anybody know what is a jarda?
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (07.28.11)
Must be Czech for "rodent" or "weasel"
47. Excellent initiative!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (07.28.11)
The terms "occupied" and "67 borders" indeed make no sense as explained so well in this video. The Israeli government officials and Israel's supporters should stop using these terms and promoto everywhere the term "disputed territories and borders". The world is already brainwashed with the "occupied" term, and continuous new PR (like this video) is required to change the world's understanding of the true situation in the West Bank. Kol hakavod minister Ayalon!
48. "Preaching to the choir"
Daniel ,   Israel   (07.28.11)
This garbage is not winning anyone to Israel's side. It is only making the right feel better about itself. Provide ANY proof that it is changing anyone's position. There is NONE! The occupied territories will remain that way to the world. As they should.
49. about time must be more aggressive against all such

52. This superb eye-opener article+video
Samuel ,   Israel   (07.28.11)
This superb eye-opener article & video should be handed personally to President Barak Hussein Obama,Hillary Clinton & all the top world leaders-immediately.
53. @ 20
Shira Katz ,   Israel   (07.28.11)
You forget how Palestinians keep launching terrorist attacks on Israel. Israel is just trying to exist. and we are all can live better with peace! Salam Aleik'um from Israel!
54. @42 Palestine is a name given to Israel when the...
Sarah ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.28.11)
Romans conquered the Jewish home land. During this period they were changing the names of places to delete the previous ownership of the land. Indeed, Palestine is not the full name of what was here before the establishment of Israel. My grandmother (was jewish BTW)is registered under the section country of birth in her ID as citizen of: British Mandate of Palestine. It means, this is a temporary name that applies to people who lived there (including jews), to the election of the ruler - in this case the British. Thank you and have a good day.
55. The Hasbara war is NOT a lost cause, as
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (07.28.11)
this video clearly demonstrates...and of course, the Arabs are not enthusiastic about it....TOOOO bad...!
56. Excellent!! It is high time the truth be told in simple and
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.28.11)
direct way. This video must be shown on each and every computer monitor and TV set worldwide!! P.S. I hope Mr. Obama views it as well...!!
57. to#42 Abdallah
Marcelo ,   Berlin / DE   (07.28.11)
Palestineans were jews and arabs alike during british mandate. After 1948 there was Jordan and Israel, not more "palestineans". Arabs didn'T like it and wated to destroy the newsly independent country called Israel. The so-still-called palestineans just do not want to be part of Israel but to destroy it and Jordan, well, jordans just do not like you as well as all arabs around...no pity for "palestineas".
58. whose territory is it?
observer ,   Egypt   (07.28.11)
No single world country recognizes WB, including East & West Jerusalem, as not occupied. No single world country recognizes WB as disputed. The West Bank and Jerusalem are occupied as per the 47 Partition Plane which Israel itself recognizes. Israel itself was the Southern province of Syria. Judaism came prior to Islam is much like Muslims' theft came prior to Jews' theft of the land.
59. #12: Sarah B = ignorant
Uri ,   Siberia   (07.28.11)
England? a country? ... you are so ignorant, you should read a few books Dear, and learn about other countries ... then again, you obviously have no desire to learn about 'the other', do you now?
60. #18 - hided no, hidden possibly
Uri ,   Siberia   (07.28.11)
learn to spell before you post your drivel online my little Challenge Of course they called it Judea and Samaria, that's the only name they knew of .... just like you would probably call the Netherlands .. err .. the Netherlands, I bet that's not how the Dutch call it ... see? here's a little link for you, just so that you remember how things also went down in 1948 - I bet Ayalon did not mention this in his video: http://www.physics.harvard.edu/~wilson/NYTimes1948.html
