61. The time we all turn to Rabbis...
y.Shimon ,   los angeles   (08.23.11)
If someone in your family was ill, and all the doctors gave up hope, those same "mockers" of our faith & Rabbis suddenly humble out and come pleading for blessings and prayers. I think some of you had ought to humble out. B) The fact this stuff is being said by fellow Jews makes me much more fearful & concerned than had it been said by non-Jews in Europe. When you notice other people saying the same things as yourself you must not let that reassure you but should concern you even more! C) (To those who complained about Torah studying): The Jewish people have almost always had that 10-15% of people who devote their lives to Torah starting from Levites who studied Torah in Egypt. Rabbi Akiva compared Jewish people without Torah like a fish outside the water. We need learned people to be the bearers and transmitters of Torah to the next generation.
62. ?! Join IDF and davven, lern, etc.

63. He is right - If Hamas were busy studying at the Yeshiva
ron ,   Melbourne Australia   (08.24.11)
He is Right. If all the terrorists were to be engaged in full time study of the Torah they would have no time to build bombs or use them. It is also the most effective as someone has to contribute actual food, development, etc. So let all bad people study quietly the Torah - locked safely in the Yeshiva and let all good descent people work and improve the world. Sounds like a good arrangment

65. you don't understand
Hal ,   New York, USA   (08.24.11)
The Rabbis were not blaming the victims for their lack of Torah study. They were blaming those who engage in Torah study in Yeshivos for slacking off during this time.

71. Keep them dumb
Yehudit ,   US   (08.24.11)
The Rabbis understand that if you shield your people from the outside world and bring them up to never question your authority, you can have immense control over your followers and make them believe everything that comes out of your mouth is the absolute truth. What the Haredi need is the ability to think critically.
72. Haredi
Yehudit ,   US   (08.24.11)
They sound like nuts because they are nuts.
73. to #68, re: "the leaders of our generation"
tom ,   toronto, canada   (08.24.11)
you wrote:" Some of your comments about the leaders of our generation are disgusting!" you are absolutely right. but perhaps they are indicative of our loss of faith in, and respect for, such "leaders" who are vain, foolish, and corrupt. "leaders" who encourage parasitism (the real Torah requires a man to work to support his family, and to fight to protect his people when they are under attack), and who allow thuggery (like the modesty patrol who beat up women), and who condone child abuse (tell your rabbi, not the police), have lost all respect and credibility. the comments which you find disgusting merely mirror the behaviour of these unappointed "leaders of our generation", which is indeed hillul hashem.
74. 73 tom How can we ignoramus ...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.24.11)
judge decisions done by giants of the Tora. May be they think ,that the yeshiva students have to catch up the Tora neglect of the todays generation in Israel.

80. to 78..
Jennie ,   Israel/Us   (05.22.12)
You don't show respect or good manners to anyone, do you, charles ? Your post #78 to Ora was undeservingly disrespectful and cruel...She called you a "good neshama" and you replying with condolences for her grand-daughter's marriage ? It looks, that Ora has never communicated with Charles from Petach Tikvah, Charles...
81. Gentiles
BlueyBlogger ,   Cairns Ausralia   (06.05.12)
When these idiotic and mentally disturbed Rabbis speak these words concerning Gentiles, I do believe they are the "Pot calling the Kettle Black. Most of them suffer from Stockholm Syndrome, which cannot be cured.
