The blockade may be legal but boarding and attacking a vessel outside any state's territorial waters is not. If they had waited to attack the vessel until it was inside their "territorial waters" the position in which Israel now finds itself may have been avoided. The idea that Israel has a right to defend itself is evidently a problem when Israel applies the principle to vessels in international waters.

How odd that this Turkish government should object to Israel's restrained response to illegal actions by violent thugs committing illegal acts. This is the Turkish government that BOASTS that in the last several days its armed forces have crossed into Iraq,killed 160 Iraqi Kurds and destroyed infrastructure in response to acts of terrorism. UN enquiries and reports? Shouts of disproportionate response?Accusations of violating another country's sovereignty?I haven't noticed them. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
