61. Our children's futures.
ZIL ,   jerusalem   (09.05.11)
Is my daughter a radical? After serving on the front line for two years ,dodging kassams and grads while guarding us all so that we can sleep safe at night, she now wants to begin her life, be able to afford to go to university and rent an apartment. I work full time at a very respectful job, , but still rent an apartment and will never be able to afford to buy my own flat, let alone help her buy an apartment. My daughter- and so many other young Israelis- want a chance at a decent life- to be able to study, live with respect, and create a family in her own country of birth, Israel. I say kol ha cavod to everyone who uses the democratic system for change. We will continue to march to let our voices be heard.

Unless you gave them the money, what they do with it is none of your business

Sure, young Israelis can choose to blow their money on a year-long vacation abroad to India and South America (I just drove my Israeli niece to the airport for a several-month trip to Central America). But when they come back to Israel, they should not expect the government to help them buy an apartment in Tel Aviv. My husband is a veteran of the IDF. When he finished his service, he couldn't wait to start working and saving his money. My dad was a veteran of WWII. He was in the thick of fighting the Nazis and was at the liberation of Dachau. He could have used a year to "find himself" but he chose to work an extra year for the Army and then returned to the states to work. This young generation in Israel is spoiled and feel "entitled" to freebies in life. You're not doing them any favors by pampering them.

65. the protest is right

I export new cars to Israel from the states. I deal everyday with the croni sm that is the Israeli auto industry. The current Israeli Licensed Auto importers have a monopoly on the business. And the sad part for them is I under cut them, and what do they do they change the laws to make what I do harder. ITS CORRUPTION ITS WRONG, IT IS NOT FREE MARKET, I BUY THE VEHICLES IN THE STATES 30% LOWER THAN THE ISRAELI RETAIL PRICE. AND THEY TRY TO SHUT PEOPLE LIKE ME DOWN. Why is real estate expensive, because the large contractors are buddies with people in the Knesset ITS WRONG LET PEOPLE WORK HARD AND USE THEIR BRAINS. AND HAVE SUCCESS OR FAILURE BUT DONT CHANGE THE LAWS TO HELP YOUR BUDDIES.
